  1. Extreme jealousy towards all running, definitely not going to get over there this year. Was going to try and have my own 32 ready with my partner Kat co-driving, but we ended up sinking cash into less important things like property and what not - so it had to take a backseat. On the upside it means we can keep taking it slow, and sink another years worth of funds into prepping the car without cutting any corners. Beats the six weeks steve and I had to spend on his car last year! Looking forward to 2010 - will have to get out to some of the other events later on in this year when the car is ready. Good luck to all will be watching for good results
  2. Have not heard much about the 8 pots but a few guys have run the 6 pots on their Targa r32's without issues. Steve @ JustJap also runs them on one or two of the r32's he takes down. With some of the earlier kits I believe some attention needed to be paid when mounting to ensure the pad was not running off the edge of the disc - as this in theory could result in cracking in higher stress situations, but I believe this has been solved with the newer kits. Make sure they are set up right and you should be fine, and save some $$$ at the same time. If they are mission critical and you have $8k+ to burn then why not head for some ap/alcon/bmax
  3. The part numbers are different - the aus spec ones have an additional letter in them.. Check the part numbers against http://www.fulcrumsuspensions.com.au/tein.html - if they are in there you know they are aus specs. Oh and the aus specs will have Fulcrum suspension mentioned in the instructions.
  4. @ Evocoop pics. Looks like a scene out of CSI or something
  5. Soz Jimmy - you know what we do to tall poppies in this country!!! GT2 carnage - what I like to see. Well done guys!
  6. Man welcome to the club. I had it happen twice last year in the space or 6 months - first was a beer bottle when parked out the front - square in the drivers side quarter. Second happened on boxing day parked outside a mates house, looks like the bozo punched it. Lucky for them we had the music up or they woulda had at least 10 pissed irish mofos all over them. Pain to find and replace - as someone else said most of them break on removal - I was on the phone today still searching around for an r32 one.
  7. Martin when you say 'hook' do you mean shift weight from side to side using steering angle?
  8. Too late sorry - ended up ordering 3 from the US for a price that I am thinking will be closer to that of a single remote in the country. Took a bit of searching around to work out the whole DEI = Viper / Python / Valet / Hornet. My remote has Viper stamped on it but turns out its a "Valet" badged alarm...
  9. I am having trouble getting some replacement remotes for mine. SIR-Black32 - where are you looking at getting yours from??
  10. I personally would stick with the AFM's and upgrade them. Those nismo replacements are pretty bloody expensive though. No particular reason behind my logic, I have owned both MAP and AFM tuned cars and from my experience it comes down to the tune. Some argue that you can make airflow changes to AFM based cars without looking at the tune, but I always prefer to get things checked and trimmed anyway. Re: Vi-PEC arguments, I think I am going to look at one of these shortly for my rally setup... the damn r32 Gtr PowerFC hiccup happens at least once a drive - very unhappy with it.
  11. bwahaha love the cocky Porsche guy
  12. Centre console surround and ashtray - $70?
  13. I think the 25 refers more to the housing
  14. Before they sold it and left Buddha's Banquet on Swan Street in Richmond was best Pad Thai hands down - and believe me I eat it at every chance. It was run by two hilarious Thai girls, always covered in jewelery hair and makeup done - very loud. Please anyone if you have seen them let me know!! I would kill for some of that Pad Thai again - used to eat it 3 - 4 times a week. They sold up and moved and it just went back to run of the mill. KEEP AN EYE OUT!
  15. I chucked one of those band shifters in when I first got mine... wasn't the greatest for reception. Then some prick broke in and stole the face... Just get something local I reckon.
  16. I think the hatred for aussie cars is a reaction to the subset of small minded people that drive them, the same kind of people that would pelt a rotor with beer bottles for showing up at summernats, the same people that boo skaife and richards off the bathurst podium. I quite like a lot of what both holden and ford are offering now, but I still hate those people.
  17. Not sure if 33's are the same deal but the best thing I ever did to save fuel was put a power fc on it. Air/fuel ratios before the pfc were around 10:1!!!! It was not uncommon to see under 300kms to a 75 bloody litre tank around the city. Now with approx double the power, I am seeing 550 - 600kms to the tank (granted I am doing more highway driving now).
  18. I have installed both -7's and HKS GT-SS's (based on R series) and they both have oil restrictors built in. You can actually see them by looking in the oil inlet. Not sure about operation with the Tomei oil pump though.
  19. Check the chassis rails underneath - I've seen heaps that are crushed.. probably from being forklifted in japan. They rust out, plus not good for rigidity / chassis flex. No blue smoke. Check for fuel leaking from the body of the injectors - sometimes only starts after a while running / getting hot. Check all panel seams - e.g. open the boot lid and check along the jamb, you will be able to tell if it had been in an accident. Also pull the rubber U lining strip off the door frame and check the spot welds under there - if its uneven or buckled at all its been in an accident. Such damn good cars though, i've only had really superficial problems in my 4-5 odd years from a 19 year old car cranking out a fair bit of power. Unbelievable.
  20. Check the amount of fluid in the reservoir - in the boot - right hand side there is a panel (opposite to where the jack is stored on the left). If this is low the sensor will disable 4wd and the light on your dash will come on. Needs to be filled up with Nissan matic-D special blend trans fluid.
  21. r34 wheels and some toyo t1r's to make space for the new years resolution (I resolve to stop in shorter distances), tein oz super streets and a new steering wheel and gear knob... they is getting very very old
  22. Every one I have known well has had serious emotional baggage that has manifested itself in violent outbursts and major social problems... its uncanny...
  23. I've known a few cops over the years - sometimes they just do it for a laugh as well.
  24. You can also use 300zx Z32 afm's - but I can't see the point - go brand new with the Nismos - they slot straight in place of your stockies - just read further. I do think the Z32's are larger diameter so only useful for much higher power levels. Edit: you also need to change plugs on your wiring loom (=yuk), and not sure if they will fit with your stock piping - looses the beauty of having a car for which there are so many true bolt on upgrades.
