  1. g box with transfer case alone is roughly 80-90kg, I can just lift it off the ground and not drag it, I weigh 66kg Engine with all the crap on it, I'd love to know...
  2. I have HKS GT2530's and dumps on my 26 at the moment. Engine mechanically stock except 260 poncams and cam gears not dialled in, plus all the usual support stuff. I get around 17psi at 5000rpm, and I think thats 1000 rpm too late, comnpared to R33N1's anyway. I'd be checking out where your torque band would be too with GTRS compared to GTSS. With 2530's I've lost a fair bit of torque in the 3500 to 5500 range. I've had no real indication of what I should dial cams in to.

  7. Saw a vid thats on the net. They tested a customers car a couple of times to do some tests. 0-60 3.3 secs quarter in 11.3 secs From factory!!! I'm not even going to go into the handling and braking!

  10. Been through a few setups now. I had the most fun with 300RWKW R33N1's@ 1.3 BAR. Have 2530's at the moment, 17PSI by 4800 too high for my liking even though top end is great. Thinking of going to HKS GTSS next year.(Yes have read about 2860-5 and -7).
  11. The guys a dyno queen person, but it has been tuned by people who know their stuff. Yes I agree it's pointless topic but I was asked to ask the tough (stupid?) question. It's his daily driver and still going strong. Runs 18PSI every day but doesn't get up it all the time(I wonder why!!) Thanks for the replys.
  12. 125PSI min in the manual. 160 normal 171 new no more than 14 psi difference between highest and lowest readings. Quoting from service manual. Cams, thottle open or not and crnking speed all make a difference as well as cold or hot.(should be done at operating temp).

  15. Greast cruise in the end. Good to see so many stove lights out!!! Thanks for the back up guys. Managed to get home ok, just rev match gears CRUNNNNNNCH. What happened was the pivot ball snapped off at the thread (what the clutch fork sits on.). Took gearbox off yesterday and put my rebuilt one on today. Just finished this arvo, so much fun to do by myself as mates were away.Bloody heavy. I'm stuffed, but I'll make it to the christmas cruise no worries now! Thanks guys.

  19. What are the thoughts on the use of plasma coated bores on the new VR38DETT? Around 1.5mm? thick. Tear down every 12 months? Only what I've read...... RB26DETT block, iron, don't need coating or sleeves stock.....(too heavy though)
  20. On behalf of a mate who has an R34GTT. What is the most RWKW you have managed to get from an internally stock(pistons and rods) RB25DET, R33 or R34. Stock RB25DET NEO, tomei 260 poncams, plazmaman intake manifold High mount mainfold with TO4Z 800cc injectors 044 pump pressure reg 363RWKW @22PSI Dyno dynamics shootout without nos. Cheers.
  21. Over 3 and a half years, daily driver, put over 80,000k on it now. Replaced turbos, cv boots etc. Regular oil changes, etc. Just cost a bit more than a normal car to get parts sometimes.
  22. Hmm. Used to have 33 N1's(300RWKW), Then I put 2530's on my GTR. (stock innards with pomcams). 17psi@4800 to 8000+ =###rwkw GTSS will get around at least 350RWKW with cams with lots of response. GTRS will get around 400RWKW with supporting mods with stock bottom end and cams. Just a rough guide.....

  24. I've got tein ha coilovers (Jap spec) at the moment and the rear ones clunk, especially at low speeds. They still work fine, but am sure somethings loose inside or worn out. I like the way they ride, so going to Aus spec one's will be softer and I'll need to get some whiteline swaybars to reduce the bodyroll I'm gonna get!
