    Hello

Just to clarify, no compliance plate (i.e. it came in under the 15 year rule) means a full pit inspection at Regency, regardless of whether it has been registered interstate before.
  2. A lot more voting motorists than voting cyclists
  3. It's called a turn of phrase
  4. Install it on eBay and get some money for it
  5. In order: Yes. Definitely not. and No.
  6. Actually the last part is incorrect - in a straight line, the Supra is quicker by a fair margin. Around corners it would even up a little. Autechs make good power, but they lack in torque, meaning you have to really drive them hard to get anywhere in a hurry. 2JZs make good torque even in NA form. A late model SZ-R Supra is similar in age to an Autech, but is also around the same sort of money to buy too. If you're after RWD, then it's certainly one of the better choices. As for going faster, the usual exhaust, intake, computer mods all help, but the increases are fairly minor when compared with modding a turbo car (or even putting on a turbo for that matter). Best to use it for what it is, then safe the money you would've spent on modding it for buying a turbo version once you're off your Ps.
  7. There's an excellent thread in this section about HID lights, please make sure you read it before you choose which ones you're going to buy.
  8. Never heard of them - just bear in mind that saying you can export to Australia and knowing what cars are suitable for the Australian market are two different things
  9. S15 Autechs are R34 GTS money if you want to compare in terms of price, in fact it's cheaper to get an R34 GTS coupe in manual than it is to get an S15 Autech, and in my opinion the R34 GTS is a much better car anyway.
  10. I have to say I always get wary of people who get hazy when mechanical issues are mentioned - "I'm not a mechanic, but..." There are a LOT of supposedly low-km cars getting around in Sydney that have had the kms brutally wound back. It's got to the point where I joke with my guys in Japan whenever we see grade 4 R34 GT-Rs with 180,000km going through auctions being hotly bidded on, that "that one's going to Sydney"...
  11. http://www.alljapanday.com.au/ Been going here for a couple of years, but we're planning to expand it for 2010. More details soon
  12. Haven't we already discussed this one before Shane? Did you not receive anything or did you actually receive a rejection letter? We had numerous glitches with our emails updating to a new online form system this year, it would more likely be that we may not have even received the application than anything else. You're more than welcome to bring your car back if you want to in 2010, it would've been definitely let in this year if we had our sh*t together. Just to clarify a few things, having selection criteria for AJD is no different to what Auto Salon does. Try putting an unpainted unfinished project in Auto Salon and see how far you get. The original purpose for the show was to provide a place where people could admire cars that are good original condition, or builds in progress, or works of engineering, etc etc and generally chat to each other, rather than roping off their cars and stressing about people touching their air-brushed diffs. We had a V8-powered Landcruiser covered in dirt and mud tyres etc etc sitting alongside the Wheelworx S15 track car, sitting alongside an original Isuzu Bellett, and all were admired for different reasons by the people that were there. The reason for rejecting "sex-spec" cars is because Auto Salon already caters for them, pure and simple. We wanted to target a different market, and get back to the old-school style of car shows when it was about the cars rather than the show. In the end, it DOES come down to interpretation, that's the beauty of running your own car show - if people don't agree with our selection, they will vote with their feet, that's fine, entry for spectators is free anyway. We're planning to run 5 events across Australia next year though, so I think the concept still has legs
  13. I went and bought a daily with aircon instead lol "Pete's" N1 has the aircon optioned back in, from what I can see. More info as it comes to hand...
  14. The week before this guy contacted me, I'd seen two go through auction! I was telling him, yeah I've seen a couple go through lately, shouldn't be a problem lol. The hard part is finding N1s in good enough condition to comply - most of them saw track work, so it's unusual to find clean street cars. Pete I can't find your email address - email me and I'll send them back
  15. I know the answer already, but here's one for the trainspotters: BNR32-219838
  16. Ok I'm posting this in here, because it's as discreet as I can possibly be. My agent picked up a genuine R32 GT-R N1 with a genuine 112,000km on it, grade 4. Would work out to roughly $27K landed and complied.. I'm mentioning it because the buyer I had for it is overseas and seems to be stupidly hard to contact at the moment, so if someone wants to get it quick, let me know. I'd love to see it come to SA. If you've lusted after one, this is probably your one and only chance. Only 228 were ever built, and this is the first one I've seen come available for 7 months.
  17. Hi guys, I need to get in touch with changi asap, but I'm having trouble getting through to him via phone or email. Last I heard he was in the US on holiday? If someone knows where the hell he is, can they let me know via PM? I need to contact him urgently. Cheers Kristian
  18. Awesome, I'm younger....just...
  19. Hey I don't remember putting you on my "fanboy payroll"...
  20. Ashur, no offence but you have some pretty big balls coming in here calling long-time member noobs. DRIFTT is correct - for a NSW-based business to trade as an import broker, you must have the licence he has listed in the link, regardless of whose name the import paperwork is in. It's very easy for anyone to start a import brokerage business, jump on a forum, pull a few auction sheets from USS Tokyo and advertise them as examples, and expect that somehow people are automatically going to trust you and buy cars through you. Unfortunately life doesn't work like that, either on internet forums or in real life.
  21. $20k for an NA R34? Jeez talk about supply-and-demand...
  22. No probs fella, more boost + freer exhaust should fix things a little
