  1. We've pretty much hit max entries (250) with a month to go, so we're doing mighty fine. Basic format is keep it as simple and cheap as possible - the website explains it all. www.alljapanday.com.au Last year the four horsemen of the apocalypse rode through the night before the event, so we're hoping for sunny skies this year! At least a set of my wheels will be at the 10th Anniversary thing to represent me in spirit
  2. It's ok you're right - if it's a 15 year import, then every state has different requirements for registration, it's a right pain in the bum. I'm just working off the assumption that if it has be assigned a VIN, it would've been complied in the normal sense. pipster11, you MAY get away with it if the car is registered in your name with Tassie plates, because they don't normally have to do an ID inspection in these cases, but expect the worst and assume you'll need an engineer to sign off on it etc etc same as you would if it had just arrived from Japan.
  3. ^^That would be one way of doing it If the VIN is stamped on the chassis (with 6U90000xxxx... or with 1MP0RT in the VIN somewhere) then it has been complied normally, and should be fine for rego. Sorry to state the bleeding obvious, but street_racer, did you check for a pink plate on your B-pillar? Open the passenger's door and have a look on the pillar there. There's every chance the person at the RTA has NFI what they're doing and didn't check there either. Give us (either via PM or on here) your full 17-digit VIN and that should clear things up.
  4. I remember seeing that application - is he from the mid-North?? I don't remember seeing the pic, maybe it didn't upload correctly. Either way, tell him, in the interests of good taste, borrow a set of rims for the day Just so you understand where we're at with entries guys, we've now passed our 250-car limit, and are making allow 25 more entries to cater for the fact that people will pull out at the last minute. After that, anyone who enters will only be approved if someone else gives up their spot. If you don't want to miss out, then I suggest you get in very quickly.
  5. Oh dear...I will come back later...
  6. The difference is, at the upper end of the market, people pay cash for their cars - they don't need to offload them to pay off debts when money gets tight, they just hold on to them and don't upgrade, hence my point earlier. As far as foreign cars into Japan goes, it has never been a better time to get one, due to the strength of the yen. I had a well heeled Japanese guy excitedly telling me the RRP on the Bentley he subsequently ordered (around $2 mil Aussie) dropped by 25% in the last few months.
  7. The new car market has also shrunk in Japan, so the stock at auctions (usually trade-ins on new cars) is also drying up. As mentioned, prices locally are cheaper than you're likely to see in Japan, either now or in 12 months time for R34 GT-Rs. This coming from someone who has a vested interest in saying otherwise... Prices are so strong for top end 34s over there that I'm seriously considering sending mine back. Could've bought a nice paintjob with the extra money he spent. Let me guess - Millennium Jade?
  8. If the Spec V isn't the high performance version, wouldn't that then just make it a stupidly overpriced car with expensive cosmetic mods?? Nissan are taking their customers for a ride, either with the false rumour, or with the Spec V...
  9. Got it, you name dropper lol Sorry mate, nothing personal, just wasn't the style the committee was/is looking for.
  10. When will they start breeding?? I'll be down to chat to you soon re All Japan Day
  11. I think your entry didn't work, I would've remember if it was in there (don't know why lol). Resubmit, fella.
  12. Spent all day driving around town in the N1 and spotted 0 Skylines! I swear my car scares everyone away!! Spotted something cool the other day though - a VX Commodore Equipe with the plates [EQUIPT]...oh dear...
  13. Hmm not sure why - you're 164 on my list. Glad you like the auction sheets, took ages to make!
  14. Acceptance letters were mailed today guys - keep an eye out for them.
  15. lol he's got better eyes than me, that's for sure. Either way, Nankang and a few other brands like Hankook are making headway on the Japanese market for the same reason they sell elsewhere - value for money.
  16. Yeah sorry we've been working on a system to make it easier to respond and automate the various forms, adding in the entrant numbers (last year I did all of them by hand, changing the number, saving to PDF sending out etc etc it was a nightmare), but the programming is taking a little while to get right. If you don't get something in the next couple of days, I'll go back to the old manual sending out...
  17. Don't get me started on sites like this...
  18. You're hitting your rev limiter lol. And yes, you're in the wrong spot, but check your coil packs.
  19. Sorry it's remiss of me not to also mention Streeter, a member on this forum who buys stuff off Yahoo auctions at bargain prices for his customers. Shoot him a PM if you've find something you like.
  20. Cheers bud. Spotted tonight - silver R34 GT-t with rims heading up North East Road at around 9pm with the world's most attentive driver. He didn't notice both me and GT George in our GT-Rs parked just on the edge of the road lol
  21. lol just got back, sorry. Spotted a white R33 GTS-t up there though.
  22. I'm heading up to the Car wash at Golden Grove Village, if anyone's nearby and not doing anything
