  1. My GTR is missing at times as well. but yea not constant. another option you could look at is earthing. old car, small earthing wire. i haven't re-earthed my ignitor and coils yet. too lazy. i will get around to doing it soon enough though. tomorrow is wash and polish day but! good luck. i hope the splitfires fix it for ya
  2. Yes. My car stock is around 12psi. now i have bigger turbos, higher boost, power fc and a fully rebuilt motor with forged pistons and i have better fuel economy. when i get my boost controller and up the boost to 18-20psi, i will still have the same fuel economy on the road as i drive like a grandma. you control how much fuel you use with your right foot.
  3. the mechanic reckons that my rack needs rebuilding. we had it on the hoist and you could hang onto the wheels and turn them both in and out toward each other. make sense? i think its called toe in. worn bushes maybe? i haven't looked any further into it yet. i would love to know how much its gonna set me back. maybe the same problem your having
  4. wanna save fuel? DON'T BOOT IT. its that simple. It doesn't matter what boost your running.
  5. did a very similar pipe under my plenium in the gtr. took a month to find leak, source part from japan and fit. i didnt see the point of fitting a 2nd hand pipe. it might have only lasted a few months and then rusted through itself. things like that i go brand new straight from nissan japan.
  6. yea thats it. i was wrong with my sizes!
  7. This would all come down to personal preference. personally ill go the Blitz SBC. it is pricy but then again i dont need to have gauges hanging off everything just to tell me what the car is doing. all in 1 nice neat clear screen.
  8. Nismo Z32 = 80mm. Other Z32's are 90mm. I think Tomei is 90mm
  9. i believe that any generic rubber hose from any auto shop would suit the job just fine. a lot cheaper and quicker then ordering the genuine parts from japan
  10. congrats on getting a GTR. just finished my rebuild. theres still more things that need fixing after the build, so always keep some spare $$$. the search button if your friend. theres tons of info of rebuilds on this forum. especially in the forced induction section. checkout the sticky: RB26 Turbo Upgrade, All Dyno Results good reading. this will help you decide on what works for others. also read about Derens rebuild. My Restoration 350kw? well maybe... with a shiteload of boost and a few more bolt ons. look at how much power you want to finish with. what will the car be used for? it might not be worth replacing things such as the intercooler. its already pretty good. ive heard of GTRs running 300AWKW+ on stock intercoolers, stock airboxes and stock fuel pumps. like you said, the price of these cars is crippling. good luck Cheers, Ron
  11. are you after the rubber hoses or the steel pipe thats bolted on?
  12. but if you wanna go the VL route, couldnt you use a VL igniter?
  13. ive seen splitfire coilpacks to suit my GTR for $350. if the cheapest you have seen is for $600, then id suggest you look a bit more. easier then modding the wiring looms and changing the igniter. My 2c anyway
  14. Deren i got the 4000lbs clutch from jim and mate she grabs like a bitch! awesome to drive on. you'll love it!
  15. my opinion, if u already got a good car and want a turbo car, wait til ur off your p's. i dont see the point of buying another car just until your off ur p's and then buying a turboed car. save your cash! trust me! im flat broke living in my mums garage cos i cant afford anything better. all my cash goes into my car! BE CAREFUL with your cash. dont end up in your parents garage!
  16. These pods cost me over $500 new at a discounted price. they have seen less then 6 months of easy road driving. still look brand new. im selling them as i have an arc air box and prefer it over the pods.
  17. RACV do compression checks. They did on my car before i bought it. still, id take it to a good mechanic that knows his stuff. Ray at R E Customs in Springvale is good. he is my mechanic. then you could take it to Ben at racepace seams you know him already. thats if u can afford a tow. and for a tow, yea talk to Jack he's the man for tows!
  18. Sick and tired of the whistling wind around the doors? i am!
