  1. Hi Simon, I think he's referring to the thread title. There is no such word as 'numberous', it should be numerous. With the central locking, if it works with the key, the actuator is working. It may be a wiring fault between the keyless entry control and the actuator - that is, the actuator isn't receiving the signal from your keyless entry/alarm/immobiliser control. Hope that helps dude, good to hear you sorted most of the problems.
  2. When I'm done saving, I'm going to fit some nice sleepy pop up Prelude lights to my R32. Can't wait. Is it ok if I put a Honda badge on the GTR or is that just posing? Hey my car is 4WS too! Sweet! neat pics r32line
  3. The early RB26 needs a crank collar. It was corrected around '92 or so from what I've read. R34 cams won't fit in an earlier model.
  4. It may be the reverse lockout spring. It's sorta common. Happened to me about a year ago and a few other guys since. Try searching for "reverse lockout". I have a pic from FAST if you think it might help. It's a cheap fix. You can slide the gearbox back a little and reach it from under the car - you don't need to drop the whole thing.
  5. Added during Aust. compliance.
  6. The same thing happened to me, as I mentioned above. As has been discussed, it could be terminals/earth/alternator. It'd be worth taking it to an auto elec and spend $60 on an hour of testing rather than throw $300 at a car with a bad earth? Even a cheap battery (eg. mine is a supercharge gold) should last a few years. Yours should still be good dude.
  7. Hey Gordon. I agree with Deuce Bigalow. When my battery was on the way out, it'd read 12V static, then drop to 8V on start. With a jump start, it'd sit nicely on 14V. As an aside, I recently had issues with the battery that I thought was caused by the alternator - it turns out the battery terminals were corroded and preventing the from alternator charging the battery. When I took my battery to have it checked, the report was that it was still good just flat. It sounds like yours may just be dead.
  8. lol Yeah it's hard to put parts on your car branded 'Supercheap'
  9. Dexron III is Dexron III, same as grease is grease. Finally, something about Skylines that doesn't cost a fortune!
  10. Great thread Dan. I've added it to the stickied FAQ under R32 subheading. Cheers!
  11. Richo you need your own subforum
  12. btw I was in Cronulla on Australia Day and saw a grey R32 (must be a limited edition colour) with a southern cross decal on the roof. Is that anyone here? Yes I know there's a spotted thread....
  13. Wow, that's a lot of Nissans. I spent 17 years in the Cronulla and my oldies still live there. Can I claim RPL?
  14. No offence dude, but you're posting that you are happy with reliability figures you just made up? PS. Last year Ford sold 43,000 Falcons of all models and variants. http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleD...ArticleId=22464
  15. I have a pair in Western Sydney/Blue Mountains. Let me know if I can help.
  16. I agree 100%. Maybe it is because a midly aggressive driving style keeps you more attentive and resists the thumb-in-bum, mind-in-neutral vortex of boredom that leads to slow response times. Statistically (wish I had the details on the study but it came from an ambo) drivers that speed 1 to 10kmh over the posted limit have fewer crashes than any other demographic. Food for thought? The same applies, albeit to a lesser extent, to driving a car *ahem* a cage. PS I hate those road safety ads that whine about "if you were doing 60kmh, you'd have hit the truck, lucky you were only doing 50". I mean, what a joke, how situational is that!? Why not make the national speed limit 40kmh? Or maybe 30kmh? I do a lot of risk assessment and risk management at work and at some point there is a balance between practicality and acceptable risk. Trying to control speed limits in a vain attempt to achieve zero road fatalities is a completely pointless exercise that seems driven by political pressure to 'take action' to prevent further occurrences. Whoops,. that was so not meant to be a rant. End transmission.
  17. Gold would look very nice. I'm washing my car this arvo and I'll take a few pics (of the duplicolor red calipers) afterwards for you.
  18. It is probably just a sticky speedo cable. It happens to R32s a lot but it is more like a random flick (ie. speedo drops 20kmh then comes back).
  19. Chris remember on the older IPB there was :werd: That would do the trick
  20. lmao Right on
  21. I'll keep working on the kana Until then, I'll keep driving to work practicing in my best manga samurai voice It sure is fun. If my kids were older I'd be happy to look at hosting an exchange student so I could practice!
  22. Stephen I have one for you too. It's moot point rather than mute point Richard can you use it when asking for things? (I'm not going to bother with romaji cause I'm in a hurry) two beers, if you please two beers, is there any? does biru nihon arimasu ka work?
  23. Yes you can swap them over. Try searching for threads with text 'climate' from user 'predator'. Gordon did it around a year ago in his R32 from memory. HTH
  24. What are you using dude? At the moment I'm using ECU Talk, but I'm interested in whatever does the best job.
  25. Sorry team, thread closed. The oil sticky is here: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=22458
