  1. Ive been looking hard at the Garrett range and I have come up short. It seems a small T3 flanged GT30 series are the way to go. .63 or .82 exhaust housing and a .7 comressor. But from memmory these are externally gated, which in my case I am chosing to stay internally gated, for my personal reasons) This snail is rated around 600hp mark, so 250rwkw is achievable. Personally Id rather a T3 flanged custom garrett. But for that money a TRUST turbo is probably the logical solution. Your power figures of just below 250rwkw on a TD05SH would be achieved at around 18psi, as someone mentioned you really need more than 1bar to get a 20 boogying. Ive been in a R32 a couple of times with this setup and I was impressed where the turbo responded and the nice amount of torque it gave to a 20 still making it comfortable for the street. If you are fairly serious racing or drift etc then the TD06 is the way to go. Although looking at trusts own figures you will find the 06's power curve shift a little bit far right of the graph for my liking, but none the less as people like ROY will tell you its worth it. On my own car I am undecided, The price of the KKR430 is bloody inviting, but I know it will never be a trust turbo, and for a bushie they are damn responsive and dont suffer the problems ball bearing turbos tend to suffer when chasing the upper limits of the snails potential. The last option is getting a special order GT3037 with a .63 exhaust housing, Ive seen this turbo on RB25 in standard trimming and a HKS S series one with some tinkering. They are a really nice turbo on the 25, I love the response of it but It ran out of huff at around the 300rwkw mark, although the rest of the car has potential, im sure it will get closer to the 500hp mark seeing it supposedly has a bit of a high flow jobbie. In final thought about this snail It reminds me of the stnadard RB20 snail (comparing the 3037 on a RB25) its always on and when driven right the responsivness of the snail lays away issues of "LAG" etc etc, its just comfortable to drive or go for a run in Welp, that is my rant, from what ive seen in my dealings and in my research that is what im looking at, my power figure desires are similar, so I hope you find my dribble amusing and possiably informative. Im gonna keep looking into it because I know how there is little market for a responsive snail that will make "good power" in todays world of LS1's that you wanna destroy. Jez
  2. Reacharounds for all j/k Sorry to hear about the conversion still not going smoothly Jayson. Youll get there mate.
  3. RB20DET in aussie R31 is a verry popular conversion with the R31 boys and girls......even a VLT setup on it will have heaps of torque I say go the 20 eventually and hug the limiter all day, although 30E's love it too Ghostrider: of course CAZZ will say RB30E thats a gimmie
  4. Call me stupid but how dos this affect the limiter when heel toe-ing down a gear.... clutch in, right foot on anchors and accelerator, heel toe to 6K for example, wouldnt it hit limiter? But as mentioned its probably not a great device for track work, just drags Jez
  5. never played ninja gaiden but the other two are damn good games.......innovative and ahead of their time. I question your merit as a critic, I am a developer and probably know a timy bit more than the average Joe, but this is the interweb and everyones a keyboard warrior.
  6. VPW and even autobarn might have something at their warehouses would take only days to get it
  7. TD05 with 10mm exducer is a great turbo for the RB20(reccomended for 25 by trust), response is not too bad and comes on like an anvil......
  8. dude, you didnt end up use a relay for the fuel pump did you? BOOOM HEADSHOT.......too much current going to the ECU because of that relay not there.....
  9. Id suggest drive a few stockies, a mate of mine drove a few and was really dissapointed (R32 GTR) till he hopped in his 3rd or 4th one at the same dealership and was blown away by the diference. It was a cleaner car and much more healthier...He bought that verry car and its a verry healthy car. Compare apples with apples and you wont be buying a lemon.
  10. its same as the just jap hybrid copy ones for $179 SSSSAME autobarn part number hyper-1 difference is you can touch this one and take it home in ur car unlike internet sales

  13. Anth.......It sounds like the oil isnt cutting it... The shavings are most likely from the bottom end bearings due to the oil shearing as it cant handle the demand.....The bond breaks for even a split second on thise bearings and wham, the bearing shears also. Eventually if it keeps up you will notice rattles and noises while under load etc, personally I would put a better oil in it before shepp and go from there.

  15. MMMM the joys of having free hoist time takes 5 mins to drop a box for me
  16. HRMMM 270fwkw....wonder how many ponies that is in a manual or auto at the treads in one of these things...
  17. THE TURBO ON R34 IS SAME AS R33 S2 EXCEPT FOR A SLIGHTLY LARGER EXHAUST HOUSING...APARENTLY SIMILAR SIZE TO THE OLD VG30DET TURBOCHARGER AND YES THE SKYLINE HAS USED BB TURBOS SINCE R32 AFAIK
  18. Not the same car but I fitted Urethane ones to my HR31 rear subframe and fark me it made the car way harsher. If you had some fair decent rates in your coilovers and metal bushes in the subframe I wouldnt want to be in the car for more than 30mins of daily driving.
  19. UMMMMMMMMMMMM you are all forgetting that R31's have Mc Phearson strut setup ALA S13 in the front therefore camper adjustment is a pissa and the rear end of an aussie R31 is live axle so theres no worrying about camber adjustment. Some pillowball top coilovers with some whiteline swaybars, and adjustable castor bars is abous as much as you can do in an aussie R31.
  20. currently about 425km to a tank an average....hope to get 500+ with a good tune
  21. I can see it now. The next big thing after HOONS will be the bashings of parking inspectors. I always make sure when I see one that I give them shit about their joke of a job.
