hi they gave me the rb20 neo one... it bolts up to the plastic but not onto the rest of the brackets on the motor so ill have to pull the mig out and weld up an adapter bracket or something out of flat bar

k thanks will c how i go tomorry... im not worried about the plastic on the rb20 ive already got the mad looking one that says neo straight 6 but just need the bracket sits on... ill check it out and let yas no if the brackets are any different thanks

well do they exist??? i rang the company who i got my rb25 neodet from after i found out i was missing the bracket that the plastic silver cover bolts onto (this also holds the intake pipe from the throttle body down) it was only held on by one bolt and there was no bracket that adapted the two... they have taken care of me up till now and am very happy with them so i didnt lose my cool he said they have a rb20 neo there and the bracket might be interchangable... if this is true will it fit?? or is it a rb20 with a 25neo head on it and should be no dramas thanks everyone

hi upon purchasing my neo motor going over the motor i seen the bov had a little mitsubishi symbol on it (the 3 diamonds) but the end has been crimped on with nissan writing printed on the end... just curious on the history of the bov has anyone loked into it??? not that i mind but more out of curiousity

as far as i know there was only the one rb30 block brought out by nissan... got any numbers??? it could be a vlturbo motor if its got the extra galeries drilled out for the turbo or maybe (not sure) could be out of one those m30 skylines they were twin cam (rb20) head but n/a

yer their pricks but hopefully all this terrorist bullshit has taken the spotlight off the "hoon" stereotypes the media has been putting up lately, unless a suicide bomber crashes into parliament house in a fully sick modded wrx with 18" vaults ha ha then we'll all have to drive through x ray machines but yer i have been pulled over in my old 89silo i think it was because i had the import hotplate lights which look more like a 32 or 33 at nighttime to the untrained eye... i turned around to fold my seat up to cover my subs coz i didnt want to get in shit for em and they thought i was stashing drugs... they then searched my car found no drugs but found a bong i had in my console i had from wen i went to schoolies... bought it as a souvenier wen we went to nimbin (crazy place)... havent honestly smoked dope since yr9 and the conepiece was still clean... they believed me wen i told em that if i was a stoner would i give a shit if my cone was dirty ha ha... they also pulled their guns out wen my mate turned around to see what the cop was doing under my seat in the back... i blew in the bag and they winged about my pedals but thats all they could pick... no fines just a little shaken up after my first encounter with the fuzz... swore never to treat a cop courteously after that... one of em even tried to act like he didnt care if i had drugs he just wanted em "c'mon mate just hand em over and we'll be on our way" a little corruption maybe... come to think of it the police force would have a hell of a xmas party

hey man i got it from sss automotive in giraween they have a pretty good rep and they usually got most things... i was lucky to get my paws on the motor, i only went down there to have a talk with them bout a gtr motor then while i was talking a bright light shined out of the container fresh from japan as the forkilft backed out with a r34 gtt front cut on its tines... i had a look at the gtr motor and in 5 seconds changed my mind (those front diffs turned me off and hearing the stories they had) they said if i wanted something different thats the one 4 me and it fits easy... but yer to answer your question i was in the right place at the right time i guess... i had to wait for it to get quarantined i found it so early... but yer just keep looking ive heard good things about just jap in kirawee too but havent gone 2 them yet as i live in penrith maybe ask in the importers section of the forum 2 they might know a little better good luck in your quest

in the hours you booked down i dont think u had 2 say whether u drove a manual or auto u just had to drive... the main thing the rta is testing u on is your road knowledge and youve done that, obviously if you are kangarooing the car down the road your not gonna get ur licence but they watch your roadskills more than anything... maybe you can do the test again in a manual... and thats it the print a new licence for 16 bucks or u could just drive a manual... the number of times i was pulled over they never checked 2 c if my car was auto or manual once nor did they flip my licence over to see the rules... if your that worried get a auto gearnob and work out how to get it on the manual stick ha ha a little uncumfortable shifting but yer

hi ive done a search and come out empty handed.... i pick up my rb25 neo det motor today and was curious on what i should change... a air leakage test will be carried out on it and i know im already changing the oil, oil filter, timing belts, prolly any other belts on the motor (ac pump alternator ect ect) and the spark plugs... the engine is in good nick very clean inside the rocker cover 74000 ks on the clock and has been driven by the company before they chopped it up... the turbo is a bit smoky and a good one is being arranged at no extra cost my question... am i doing enough... is there anything else i should be changing/inspecting while its easy and out of the car... i dont want to have to rip the engine down but at the same time dont want to have the engine in and realise it has to be pulled out 3 months down the track... the motor comes with a 1 month warranty after the computer is installed (the warranty can be stalled for up to 3 months (give me time to paint car wheels lower exhaust ect ect)) so how should i treat it??? should i give it a hard time or just let it run itsself in they are a pretty good motor from what ive read and i was lucky to get it at the price im getting the conversion at thanks for reading my essay and thanks in advance Rick

hi sorry for hijacking the thread but im also about to get a rb25det neo for my r31... i get it either tomorrow or the next day... whats the problem with using the r34 throttle body... ive heard its electric or sumthing but wouldnt you just hook the accelerator cable up to some sort of sender box or is there more to it the one im getting has gearbox, motor, new turbo, gearbox yoke, computer and wiring loom ect ect just not the actual halfcut will i have this problem 2 or wat other problems will i discover

yer sounds like just the accesory fuse... as long as u cant smell a burnt electrical smell your head unit should be ok... do you have any other accessories ie cigarette lighter... if thats stopped working then its prolly just a fuse in the fuse panel on the drivers side... fingers crossed for that as you wont have to rip out your dash hope its the best case scenario good luck -
hey im a 2nd year fitter machinist... good pay, good job... first year wages are a bit of a shitter... couldnt run a hot car, get smashed every second weekend and live on 3 hundred a week but second year is about 450 and next year i go up to 650 so by your third year you have caught up to all your mates who do labour jobs ect and you have a trade under your belt so imo its the way to go... good luck

phhhpht... yous got it all wrong... wen get out of the car go and rip the fuel relay out so the fuel pump dont start... my mate did that with his vl thru hi school and never had a problem

i know if you have the alternator whine coming through your amp you run the rca lead and the power lead down different sides of the car... but dont know how u could apply this to your problem... a little food for thought

cigarette lighter... i used that as a remote wire in me landrover to wire up a amp/sub... only problem with it is when u got the keys out of the ignition and turn on the radio (only when im cleaning it ect) the sub dont come on... i was prepared to live with that so it was all good

Burnt Rubber Smell From R34

my r31 silohouette used to smell like burning rubber for a while when i put a 2 1/2" zorst on... there was a flap of rubber near the diff and used to smoke if it touched it... definately wasnt my clutch... i didnt worry too much on the assumption that if it does it enough the part thats touching will soon wear away and it did... -
a healthy shot of nitrous will help you get there for a split second or two this is just a idea n i dun no much bout the rb25s but im about 2 (rb25det neo coming for my r31 wagon this weekend :-D )... its prolly too late to say this now and might be innefective but wat about a neo head would your computer handle variable valve timing???... that got em a extra 30 kw or so along with bigger coil packs n some other stuff (pretty sure)

hi ive been thinking of doing a rb26dett conversion for some time now on my r31 series 3 wagon (yes a r31)... ive found some decent stuff for sale on here to do the conversion... my main worry with buying a halfcut is the state of the engine... ive had the motor compression tested and got 140-150 all round... is this too low for a gtr... ive been reading lately in hpi that a ideal compression is 160psi... is this 140-150 compression too low... should i keep looking... how much range should i allow in the compression (ie say 143 lowest 152 highest for example) is there a percentage that the compression figures should range in??? also on the gtr note... can i use the gtr box to run in rwd and block off the front of the transfer case??? what to do thanks for your help Rick

yer some of the things are pretty stupid... a mate of mine got pulled over for doing a burnout in his toyota camry (fwd) he is contesting it at court... cop wrote in statement that there was smoke comming from his back tyres... idiot
