  1. errrr....I think it may be built by now haha
  2. cooling isnt the issue, its airflow that concerns me, JZA80 side mount intercoolers are way bigger than R34 side mounts and the Supra ones barely flow enough for 240rwkws I just cant see the little factory core allowing enough airflow, they were designed for ~200kw at the crank not more than 300kw at the crank no differnt to trying to make 300rwkws with a standard exhaust...you just wouldnt do it
  3. Kinda glad I never pre-ordered still not released and still taking pre-orders
  4. What engine? I doubt anyone will give you a head for an rb they are still worth a pretty penny when complete What is wrong with the current head?
  5. It's not the temp in the plenum that matters It's what reaches the chamber Alcohol works wonders for cooling, look at methanol drag cars, they don't really need radiators (or very small ones at most) as with big rads they don't get up to temp E85 won't cool as much as not as much is used (plus chemical differences) But I'm sure a rich e85 tune would be nearly as good
  6. Bag fuel economy, but you are doing 180km/h? Lol Ok Put a standard recirc valve (bov) back on Will make a big difference straight up
  7. Lol my late night ramblings
  8. Tyres, suspension play, lights work, horn works, oil leaks (de-grease the shit out of the engine bay) Structural issues (rust and what not) A braking test And a few other things
  9. It won twice since 1960 Yep Greatest car ever Facepalm
  10. Nope, mine isn't Plus engines rarely make max power with max timing (if you aren't knock limited) You made more power because you can run more timing because your car was limited by fuel It's not proof at all Go run 5 psi with a small turbo with a huge exhaust housing on an engine with 7:1 compand tune on both e85 and 98 and see how it goes Every engine is different
  11. Re-read what I said If you are not knock limited then there will be no gains V8 super cars and NASCAR are a perfect example of this Supertaxi's lost 10 or so horsepower going from pulp to e85 NASCAR ran 102 octane Sunoco fuel and lost a bit going over to e85 It burns slower which is why it doesn't pink as easily but in turn that means it has less energy So just adjusting the fuel side of an engine map you will go backwards without more timing advance
  12. I'm in the same boat, I won't be knock limited on 98 so I have nothing to gain either way But I like the WMI to keep iat's down as I suffer from heats oak bad, as would a 300 I guess
  13. Any knock means youre eating away at pistons and bearings Besides you could be seeing readings of 200 on the pfc but the engine isn't pinking They just read noise
  14. Tbh I doubt you will gain anything but just swapping over, maybe if you are knock limited now, but I doubt you are given current boost levels The gains will come with more boost I'm not sure why you are not going for a justjap turn flow intercooler, and instead are hunting for a 2nd hand trust item As for bar and plate vs tube and fin.....a moot argument if you ask me, it's a street car and given 99% of us are running bar and plate and so are 99% of Motorsport guys... But your choice in the end But me Cheap cooler kit, wind the boost in on e85 and just enjoy it You won't notice the difference between a made in china cooler vs an over priced jap tube and fin jobbie
  15. That's because the regular 595s are just a cheap tyre nothing more I love pirelli p7s but you are looking at 200 a tyre or Goodyear f1 asymetric's for similar
  16. Lol Well my less than 5 knock on my old pfc makes 98ron look even better
  17. Your car has only seen 2 full days of driving time haha But 20 years for rubber vs less than 10 for rose joints or less again for cheap shit ones
  18. Fair enough But given you can pick up new inter coolers for 100 bucks you would be silly not too IMO If space is an issue than WMI is an option
  19. Drag car? From what I gather ethanol cools nowhere near as much as methanol
  20. Touching on marks post While it sucks people turn their noses up at the rule book It would be silly to scare people away by stripping engines etc at the end of an event I certainly couldn't afford to have that happen to me, and even if money was no object it would annoy me to say the least at club level, national level racing is understandable So with wtac/SL only being around since 09 I can see why they are allowing anything to enter (unless it's a Porsche lol) But given entries sell out damn near instantly it would be nice to see them advvertise the fact that all cars must be to the letter of the regs or risk being booted and not welcome back until the car checks out, give the average club guy a chance to stick it to the guys with big cheque books Why would someone like me want to enter, when I would prob be 15 secs a lap off the pace even though my car would be more of a club car than a carbon winged warrior lol Either way super lap is for the bigger budgets and cams sprints will tide the rest of us over I guess
  21. not to mention they flog out rather quickly
  22. ...standard injectors?? +20psi on a GTX35 this thread delivers
  23. Why are you looking at RS-R's? Are you doing track days/Hill Climbs/ Drag racing? if not, than I wouldnt reccomend a semi-semi slick you will chew them out in no time
