  7. So, just went and bought some new welding rods 2mm this time...some grinding disks and a new o-ring for the water neck which I broke...and a bucket load of degreaser

  9. Yes yes but sometimes you dont have time to go back a couple of pegs...eg merging. There are huge torque gains to be had by spending an hour or so on the off boost low rev area of them map. I.e when I get the JZ tuned with the t78...I'll need to spend ages on the off boost part to make as much torque as possible for the around town drive.
  10. It it absolutely indicative on on road performance in my book...you dont drive every where like its a race track, so being able to pull cleanly away from low revs and big throttle is important. And to me is a key difference between a good tune and a crap tune...even if they both make the same peak power

  12. I would rather a longer ramp rate to better match the car being on the road. Eg from 1500rpm to 7500rpm in 4th is going to take longer than 9secs when you are on the road

Same lol...Its lacking the elevation changes of lakeside to be an interesting high speed circuit.....Driving to the post office seems more interesting than EC north.....It would be fun on a bike though...which is what EC was made for in the first place iirc. Wonder what the South circuit will be like????
  14. The only issue that was the mechanics fault was the leaky seal...which was fixed
  15. Well, some good news. Due to me having what looks like a 2 1/4" mid pipe I was going to try and make one...BUUUUUTTTT aftermarket ones for JZA80s are exactly the same Also had a go at starting the dump pipe (the back half of it) by cutting up an old one I had here off the skyline...but it was all rusty and I ran out of grinding disks...so i decided to weld it up anyway....WHAT A MESS!!!! I wont make excuses. it wasnt cut straight enough and I got a bit carried away...really need a drop saw, as trying to cut angles with a 4" grinder just doesnt work!!!!

  18. Chris you have more room in the bay either side than the Soarer does!!! The front rails sit so high in the Soarers that where the engine sits is half as wide as the bay! How are you going to fit dump pipes with the turbos like that? Are they adapters? Did it take you long to get the intake vacuum lines all back on? there are about 9000 of them!
  19. The front ends are very different (wishbone vs Mac Strut) Rears are similar, but I dont know if anything is swappable
  20. thats a rather good point actually and given that I think there has been only a handful of RB results, and comparing an Angry VVL headed SR22 to a stockish RB/JZ isnt a good comparision...I would say that PJ's SR would be the best test bed to max the turbos...I mean the thing makes over 800hp at the crank. I thought I wrote in the mater power bit that I was referring to the "budget" v8 turbo guys (fox mustangs etc)...Mustve missed it
