  1. because I know you love horsepower
  2. No, the more toyotas the betterer lol
  3. I wouldnt be so sure about that. Many more popped RB26s around than 25s and they have 6 throttle bodies not 2 Solid lifters mean precisely shit unless you want to rev it to 10k Ports are the same but 26s have slightly larger valves and have 12mm head studs instead of 11mm Oil system is identical you could do a 300rwks Rb25 for the price of an old shitty standard Rb26
  4. They also weigh some ridiculous amount too from memory
  5. The 33 is long gone.. Moving back up that way sometime or other So I'll take the snoarer and see if its quicker than your aristo lol
  6. Damn you've had some nice cars Harry! Still wish I had gotten my old RX7 up there to lakeside when it first re-opened Silly me joined the Army instead...then sold it to buy a POS (the R33)
  7. I agree here somewhat, yes much to easy to get a licence. the testing puts too much emphasis on theory and with just a single test in a car you are off, and it doesnt matter if you cant drive, as long as you can reverse park (really....who does that anymore) and glance at your mirrors occasionally. It would be nice to see more than 1 test..maybe 2 or 3 each with different assessors focusing on different aspects of driving.
  8. As mark said, thought needs to be put into the requirements of young drivers who need to travel at night for work etc. I think though that HUGE penalties need to be put on extreme cases of idiocy, think a $5k fine for more than 45 over and a 12 month good behavior thingo + loss of licence for 2 years and have it implemented as a minimum! would sure make me think twice about giving the car a squirt to get round a truck etc
  9. I know what you are saying, but the point is they will still get themselves in that situation, and a skid pan doesnt have half a dozen telegraph poles, pedestrians or other cars. So while you might save yourself from doing a 360 in the wet, it doesnt count for squat if you plow into a restaurant doing so. As an example when I was at school, we did one of those defensive driving thingos at the Holden (now BMW) driving school. In the 2 weeks after that there were 6 accidents involving people who did the course, because they all had it in their heads that they were now awesome drivers and got cocky, all 6 of these guys were sedate and sensible drivers before the course.
  10. 26 can be used, but requires a bit more stuffing around, wouldnt bother with an RB20, in standard form they only have a hand full more killerwasps and lack low down torque Cheapest and easiest option is the 4wd RB25, and you can use the coin saved over buying a 26 on a bigger turbo etc
  11. yeah, basically rip old engine out, pull sump off, bolt old sump to new engine and drop the new engine in, plumb everything up and drive. You will need the Turbo ECU, intercooler and piping a bigger fuel pump and that's about it. Best bet would be to grab a Turbo 4wd Stagea halfcut and swap everything over.
  12. No it wont... 17 years olds are going to drive/act a hell of a lot differently with an instructor in a car compared to an hour after they pass and go cruising with mates
  13. oh shit...disregard the sump thing...forgot you also have 4wd (which is the whole reason we are having a converation about stag motors)...yes use your sump so the front diff ratio is the same (the sumps are the same anyway, just the diff gears might be different)
  14. Go big valves and port work while you are there
  15. THIS I have had so many "mates" tell me how good a driver they were...so I dragged them out to a track day and they spent more time in the sand trap than on the track. I'm not saying Im a good driver (im a hack) and drive a safe as I can on the street
  16. the Non-NEO Stagea motor is the same as a Series2 R33 Gts-t apart from the sump, so should drop in to your Series 1.5 without and wiring changes
  17. sorry guys, went last night. Yeah my car is low and the ramps are huge
  18. I agree there, but if the tuner doesn't know what to expect, and is just told tune my car to make as much power as it can.; If the car isnt missing/fartig/eaning out etc, then there isnt an issue in the tuners eyes. We dont know the full story as you say. But if I were tuning it (im not a tuner btw) and the car had consistent boost drop on every run on the rollers, than I would assume that's just how it is. I would ring however and say boost is dropping off is that normal, but its not like the car would hold boost for one run, drop off the next and then spike all over the place on the run after. If it was doing that then all "good" tuners would shut it down, ring the bloke and say its not tunable. Many cars drop boost in the top end, my Soarer does due to the Standard dump/front pipe being hugely restrictive Aaron, half assed work is what keeps some of these less professional guys in business, because they dont have the skills to do everything 100% and quickly, so they have a near enough is good enough attitude which sucks
  19. Thats all well and good Tom, but compare an Autobahn to the M4. You also dont see shitbox VL's with chopped springs and 25year old shocks on them either...its all relative. Also...Will somebody please tell ACT govt. to ban P-platers from turbos Best thing NSW/VIC and QLD ever did imo...and banning P-platers from Friday nights would be the 2nd best thing, We all know what we got up to on friday nights when we first got a licence...it either involved maccas trays or line locks...
  20. got 4wd yet? and needs more pics!
  21. woohoo I got a mention
  22. 1000cc max a touch over 400rwkws on E85
  23. yeah lots larger! Think GT30 and up Also can I ask where you get a steam pipe manifold for $330 bucks!!@!::?? IS it new. Even with mates rates I cant get one for under 500
