  5. Rowan - I have an emanage ultimate sitting in my house waiting fo me to stop being a poor ass and buy the harness to suit teh soarer. Had it on the skyline for a while, they are a pretty good thing, not the best for a crazy setup but good for a stockish car. As the soarer forum guys would say do a BFI and exhaust and you will get 200rwkw and beat every poxxy skyline every built lololololololol

http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Da...ar-t314853.html This has a Chromoly cage lol
  10. Why not just convert the s13 to 5 stud? all the silvias are the same underneath, So as Noel said convert to SR20 and spend money on some good under pinnings and you will be faster than a mild GTR by a long way and save some money doing so. Edit - Or you can just do what Chubbs said lol
  11. Awesome That is exactly what i needed to know
  12. http://performancetrends.com/download.htm#ea3 something cool and handy I just came across
  13. Does anyone have a copy of an engine designing program...i dont have mine anymore, would be good to punch in some numbers and test it all in theory.
  14. Hahahah yep, good thing with the microtech is that its quite simple, no VCT wiring, No AAC valve, etc etc, so its just injectors, ignition, fuel pumps and the CAS, although I have heard that the altenator needs to be hooked up to the dash light otherwise it wont charge....that sounds like an old wives tale to me though, guess I will find out Brake lights are easy, headlights will just be a switch on the dash same with wipers Charcoal cannister is long gone lol, just gotta remove the lines now. I thought about no booster, but my knees are fubar, and i sometimes struggle on track with the booster, so non assisted brakes are a no no.
  15. As Ash said, way to much effort for it to work well, the solid cams cause the 25 lifters to pump up and you end up with 0 compression untill they have a chance to get back to normal, you could have the cams reground to suit hydraulic lifters, but you will lose lift and a bit of duration.
  16. Bugger all wiring left in the car now just the loom that runs under the drivers side guard and up under the dash. Now just gotta find some fuse boxes and relay setups for it all
  17. What compound are the AVON's?
  18. They are an IHI turbo on the subaru's
  19. xr6T's run the 1.06 rear housing and a .5ar comp housing, they are a funny little in that regard.
  20. Just thought of another thing...years ago ford devoloped a 302ci (4.9l) v8 for Nascar when the norm was 350-360ci...the 302 ford was banned because it was way faster than the engines with nearly another 1000cc capacity...even pulled off the corners harder...mainly due to the engines willingness to rev....in any gear the engine was freer, with less crank and rod weight to move around (inertia) so despite the less on paper torque in the lower part of the rev range, the fact that you could breath on the throttle and the thing would hit 10k rpm in a split second made it the quicker car.
  21. I agree with GTRNUR - there is way more to torque production than just cc per cylinder, Take Fords outgoing 5.4L DOHC V8 for EG it has a 90mm bore and 105.4mm stroke, now by rights it should be a low end torque monster, but it isnt, yet the SOHC 2 valve version in the F trucks is. As for the EJ25 v RB25 debate, the subi has the advantage of twin-scroll turbo technology and varaiable inlet and exhaust cams, plus 10 years r+d poured into it after millions of people complained about the lack of bottom end in the 1st few models and that it needs to be improved, If you can Paul take a 1st gen WRX for a drive, they are laggy as hell and feel like they wouldnt pull a sailor off your sister, yet they are still fairly quick. I think if Nissan kept with the RB25neo past 2000 and added a twinscroll turbo, constantly variable intake and exhaust cams etc, they would be a torque monster too.
  22. Factory GTR
  23. Well my hands are cut to shreds but the intake manifold is off the rb25 now lol. Few questions for those that can spare the time to answer them, #1 Can I ditch the coolant rail that bolts under the plenum, only reason I can see if being there for is the factory oil warmer, or is that the only path the coolant can take on its way back to the radiator? #2 After looking at the rats nest of a loom in the engine bay I decided I will re-wire the whole car, not sure on how good of a job I will do, but at least all the seperate systems will be seperate and will help with any diagnosis. Does anyone have some pointers on what wiring to use, I was thinking multi-core trailer wire, but will it suffice? Also the Altenator? I cant see how it runs back to the battery due to 3000000000 other seperate looms running with the cable....All the under dash wiring will come out as im not going to use the factory dash, and will just have basic intruments (RPM, Boost, Oil Pres and temp and water temp) #3 Has anyone undone the 2 grub screws on the intake side of the head, what is behind them? Im hoping its the coolant galleries as I want to use them to run some braided line into a header tank/swirl pot thingo, to make sure there is never any air in the Head. #4 What else can I ditch being that this car is track only, none of the heater hoses are going back on the new motor....nor will I run a speedo #5 Being that the Microtech has no knock function, should i leave the knock sensors out, or should I put them in and run the wires to a plug that in the future I can use for a knock box...I think its a good idea but im a newb at these full on race cars. Hope you guys can help...as I want the neatest solution possible. Thanks
  24. Not sure if this is a respost or not, but just stumbled across it, Even a diehard Sierra Fan like myself cant deny the work that went into the 31 and 32 racecars!!
