1. I'd rather be driving here than somewhere like Russia. Australian's have nothing on that insanity
2. A dodgy way to bypass some more basic alarms is to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery, and have someone turn ignition key all the way to start position (where it cranks the starter motor) while you put the negative terminal back on. If you're lucky engine will turn over as soon as you put the negative terminal back on. Keep in mind, there will be lots of sparks so use a glove and make sure to do it in a ventilated area as sparks can ignite any hydrogen that's built up around the battery... Other than that its a tow job to your nearest sparkie
3. Very nice car and nice pics, Sonax wheel cleaner is excellent (when you can find it)
4. Weirdly not very often. Especially not on purpose, its mainly the people who have no idea they're too close...
5. That looks excellent. What kind of paint did you use?
6. That's not bad compared to my quote for the V35 four door. Shannon's asked for $2700, that's with a garage, over 30, full NCB and no fines in the past few years. I spose living in Bankstown has some downsides... LOL. But my current renewal with Just Cars is only $1070. Rather odd, considering both are owned by Suncorp
7. Minter. Love cars like this and wish I had the funds for one... One day. Tefu - your stock SMIC is still doing a sweet job in my S14!
8. Sweet work. My dash looked the same when I installed the double DIN JVC head unit to replace the crappy stocker with a jap pop CD stuck inside. So much to pull apart... Lucky mine is a non Bose so just all went back together smooth as.
9. May need to bleed or adjust the clutch too. Could be a slight drag when fully released that puts a bit of pressure on the box?
10. That's a massive haircut. And it's hugely overpriced even for a clean stocker - some of the private cars you can buy here are much better.

Should send all this info to the dept of fair trading its just plain fraud
11. Too cheap for that much work! Typical price would be at least double. But hey if the dude is happy with that amount... And the results look the goods
12. When you're a teenager, there's nothing better than chicks in your car. Now its a sphincter factor of 9 very time a woman jumps in or out of my cars...
13. Couple of old pics of my RC car. Bit dusty due to lack of use
14. I built an electric Tamiya Celica GT4 back when I was in high school This thing is really epic - has all wheel drive, with front and rear diffs, double wishbone suspension with adjustable oil filled shocks (can adjust both height and damping force with different shock inserts), two servos for steering and motor, polycarbonate body that's painted from the inside, the chassis can also support a R33 GT-R shell... cost me around $750 back then with all the radio gear. Sad thing is, i loved building it (if you ever build a Tamiya kit, you will see the anal attention to detail the japs are known for), but didnt enjoy actually playing with it, so only ran it a few times and its been sitting in my garage since then
15. Porter cable gear is awesome but the voltage is an issue. You will need a decent voltage converter as they all operate on 110v
16. My daily since January this year
17. Those three year "national" warranties are only good for making the buyer feel warm and fuzzy at time of purchase. Once you start getting into the fine-print and the silly requirements and clauses, things go downhill from there pretty quickly e.g. servicing requirements - any car over 10 years of age needs to be serviced every 3 months/5,000km, with proof sent within 7 days. Fine for a daily driven turbo car, silly for anything else (yeah some people may disagree, but overservicing is a waste of money, imo) then there is the consequential damage clause. which in my mind goes something like this: you oil pump fails, and you pop the motor. they will fix the pump and you cough up for the motor, since its failed as a "consequence" of the oil pump blowing up. thus, many things end up in this grey area and you end up having to fight with them as just about any issue can be lumped into this "consequential" category plus, repairs are only partially covered, and you pay an excess for the claims too. nice little scam in other words... had i known earlier, i would have had the warranty removed and made the price lower on my 35
18. Found the shop, and the car ad, even with the info above. Dodgy a-holes...
19. this product will work well for the in-between stages - carpro eraser http://www.carpro-us.com/eraser-intensive-polish-oil-remover-1-liter/
20. small claims court for anything under 10k. you don't even need a lawyer to lodge it
21. dodgy wheel bearing - unlikely to happen with that kind of mileage
22. JDM cars have a few benefits... The JDM Spec R engine has 184kW, compared to the 147kW for the AUS spec, same as the S14 series. Better trim, with cool colours on seats and door trims, A-pillar boost gauge, better stereo, climate control, and a ball bearing turbo (i think anyway) Personally I'd like the GT spec AUD S15, with leather, etc but good luck finding one
23. let me add the obligatory "oh snap" in here
24. Alpine still make good gear. Go for mechless models the CD is dead... So much better with BT/USB
25. I've done this car before, and its going up for sale so the owner asked me for a quick pre-sale cleanup. Didn't go nuts with this car removing swirls and scratches, just wanted to make it look decent for the sale. Plus its a not a proper paid job Don't have any before pics but it was in pretty good shape, well looked after and garaged with some usual dirt and grime and lack of wax etc The outside was washed with Bowden's Body Gel, clayed with Meguair's clay and Megiuar's Last Touch as clay lube. The roof and bootlid had a quick polish with Meguiar's Ultimate Compound to remove some deep-ish scratches, light oxidation and water marks... poor colour match on the rear door/quarter evident in the first pic too Engine bay was cleaned with Bowden's Agent Orange and plastics dressed with 303 Aerospace... Wheels were cleaned with Bowden's Wheely Clean and some random brushes, then sealed with Chemical Guys Wheel Guard. Tyres were cleaned with Agent Orange and dressed with Meguiar's Endurance Gel. Wheel arches were also dressed with Bowden's Tyre Shine Interior got a good vacuum, cleaned with Autoglym Interior cleaner, plastics dressed with 303 Aerospace, leather wheel and gearknob cleaned and treated with Lexol products and glass done with Meguiar's Glass Cleaner. Door, bonnet and boot jambs done with Last Touch (awesome all-round quick detailer and cheap in bulk)... And finally, the outside got a layer of Meguiar's Step 2 Deep Chrystal Polish for a bit more gloss and swirl filling, then a coat of Collinite 476s for protection. Outside plastic trims, wiper arms and door frames all got a layer of 303 Aerospace as well
