  1. More hates of mine: Treating the car as a trash dump. Shoes, towels, gym gear, socks, drink cans, maccas wrappers, pubes, boogers, sneeze, baby puke, spilt and dried up drinks, and the awesome smells that inevitably turn up after a few days in the sun People driving without tshirts or singlets and the seats absorbing all the sweat, BO and human slime People who don't bother to avoid large potholes or slow down for speed humps and just crash over whatever is in front of them, then complain about rattles Touch parkers with tow bars that put huge dents or holes into the number plate or the front bar of the car behind People who keep mashing the gas or the brake while driving at constant speed
  2. Just general observations of peoples behavior, with all sorts of cars including their own. Doesn't happen to my cars very often thankfully... But I expect it from non car people so I try to avoid having them anywhere near LOL
  3. In car etiquette that drives me insane: Jamming the passenger door into the ground then getting into the car, putting more weight on the side of the car and jamming the door deeper, then pulling hard just to get it unstuck. Extra nasty if the door is stuck against the concrete sidewalk Dragging shoes and bags over the door sill plate, door trims and glove box lid while getting into the car Jamming the seat belt buckle into the centre console since they can't be bothered looking where the clasp is Playing with sun visors or power windows non stop Dragging stuff over the boot loading lip or bumper bar while loading and unloading Leaving windows partially open during rain I hate passengers!
  4. 3. People using your car as a touch parking guide
  5. No shortage of dodgy or lazy mechanics. All they have to do is press the brake tester in a certain way and it will generate a successful test result, which is pretty much all you need, along with mileage, for a pink slip.
  6. Ah memories of my 31. The diff whine drove me nuts. I ended up buying a whole new centre for about a third of the cost of what I paid for the car in the first place. And that kick from first to second that plagued the series 3 auto boxes...
  7. Nice haircut! 40,000 down!
  8. Sweet fix! I need to get some as well my fuel door isn't sitting quite right
  9. something really epic about this tune this one, even better...
  10. Sorry let me clarify - you probably don't want to start with a finishing polish on a finishing pad, unless the car has very light swirls. I usually go medium first, see how that goes, then move up if needs to be. My 35 didnt need anything heavier cutting as the paint is soft and you need to minimise the amount of clear taken off as a general rule for cleaning, just use carwash or dishwashing liquid, rinse well squeese out all the water and let the pads air dry somewhere away from dirt and dust
  11. i have one... got it for free from a mate who works @ google running raspbmc at the moment. works surprisingly well - the only thing i miss is built in wi-fi and i havent tried 1080p stuff on it yet its controlled by the tv remote so no stuffing around with keyboards and mice. ill set it up as the garage media player one of these days
  12. i use autoglym engine and machine cleaner, works great on the grime and grease but not too harsh and rinses away very easily
  13. use the lightest polish+pad combo to achieve the desired result - then go up in strength if the light cutting stuff doesn't get the job done in terms of tips, if you can be bothered, grab a panel from a wrecker to practice on. i bought a random burgundy fuel flap back when i first bought a polisher and practiced polishing+wetsanding+scratch repair on it before i got the hang of the whole process
  14. Yeah that white R34 caught my eye as well. The overall condition is not that of a car with less than 40,000km
  15. Well done mate, Dodo Juice gear is awesome. I use Lime Prime Light+Purple Haze on my 200 with sweet results.
  16. I bought myself a DAS6 and very happy with it. Done about 5 cars so far and not found any shortage of power. Look into microfiber pads as well as they do a better job than foam with dual action machines.
  17. honestly, a video where a pad isn't primed is not a good enough reason to tell somebody to stay away from a seller what is shown in the video is better than what 90% of amateurs or even some pros are doing out there and perfectly fine for anyone who is just figuring out the process
  18. Never had any issues with carecareproducts. Even met the owner at Top Gear festival and had a nice long chat before buying some more gear. Being able to pick up orders from their warehouse is a bonus too
  19. weird as. if its smooth, can probably be buffed out. but, it could also be clear lifting and ready to peel. kinda hard to say without seeing it in person take it past a deecnt panel shop and get a pro's opinion maybe? im kinda stumped
  20. i used a bosch sander for a while, not suited for the job at all. the shape is usually wrong (you need to hold them as some effed up angles for long periods of time), the orbit/throw too small and the power not quite enough also ruined the velcro backing on my pads due to the incorrect hooks on the backing plate, after i pulled them off four or five times. thats another thing, its much easier to change backing plates on dedicated polishers, in case you want to go for bigger or smaller pads
  21. has something dropped on the car? some kind of chemical? or bird poop not washed off for a while? can you feel the stains with your fingers or is it all smooth
  22. could be too much polishing and loss of clear coat as well
  23. You can try Meguiars Ultimate Compound then Meguiars Swirl Remover both can be found at any auto shop and are very easy to use if you haven't done something like this in the past. Surprisingly good results with dual action polishers, on par with more expensive Menzerna products I've used in the past
  24. I've left my 200 longer than that - a few months ago I was using it maybe once or twice a month and probably went for a full 12 months, did about 1500km in that time period. No harm done, oil was fairly clean when it came out And I'm pretty anal about the servicing on all our cars
  25. Try Wheely Clean, it should dissolve all the stains http://www.bowdensown.com.au/wheely-clean Most Autobarn stores will have it
