If you can find a 200ZR they are worth buying. -

i brush the dust off with a horse hair brush and collect it in a zip lock baggie, hoping it will be worth big bucks in the future
-
i bought some nismo s-tune pads for my s14 a while ago. Haven't noticed much improvement over stock, except massive increase in dusting... and they were $250 a pair

Wheeler Dealers Skyline "drift" Car
junkie replied to PranK's topic in General Automotive Discussion
There great with euro and american cars, but the jap stuff always ends up being riced up... probably due to jap cars needing little mechanical work and still needing to create a full episode of the show -
i normally wouldn't buy anything made by turtle wax but gave this a try on the v35, with tons of black plastic trim around the sills. so far, held up for a couple of months and still looks decent https://www.turtlewax.com/shop/products/turtle-wax-jet-black-black-endura-shine-trim-coating

Could be worse A lot of it can be fixed at home if youre handy with the tin snips and a MIG welder. Check out some UK forums for some real rust horror stories, this is nothing in comparison Take it to a decent panel shop and get some quotes. Most important part is to cut out the real rotten stuff and replace with fresh metal. surface rust can be treated without too much hassle. as long as repairs are done properly, it wont come back in our climate

Independent Oil Test Must View Before You Buy Oil
junkie replied to pol1on1's topic in General Maintenance
yeah... that whole test was rubbish and was debunked shortly after. the magazine even issued an apology "The information we've learned since then suggests the test we performed may be irrelevant. Some sources have advised us that the test we used would have been better served testing some of our favourite greases rather than the engine oils we commonly use on our street cars. Sure, we did the test with the best intentions, with a level playing field for each oil and no preconceptions as to who would perform better than another, but when, and if, we mess up, we like to think that we're man enough to set the record straight." -
cheap fart cannon on my R31 Exec, with auto gearbox. Got it for nothing, thought it would be fun to get it welded on and I was young and dopey Drove it home, got a massive headache from the insane drone, took it back and got a resonator welded on, took it around the block... drove back into the muffler shop and got them to rip the whole thing out again, it just sounded like a hot vindaloo aftermath Never again

it was replaced by a blog - http://www.finalinspection.com.au/blog/ i get most of my info on UK and US detailing forums, find the local forums dull and quiet
-
Thanks mate. Time to revisit the Optimum products haven't used them since my bottle of spray wax ran out
-
Eugene, what do you use around the badges? Always difficult to get right...
-
Mainly used in areas with snow and salt on roads (US, UK, Europe, etc). Kinda pointless in Oz. Here main issue is blocked drainage, neglect and poor repairs
-
Yeah its a cleaner/light polish/glaze. But specifically designed to prep for wax
-
Maybe something leftover on the paint after polishing? Like polishing oils. Try IPA or wax/grease remover after polishing but before wax application. Or add a glaze in between. Personally i use Dodo Juice Lime Prime light after polishing to prep for wax

[Fs] 2003 V35 Skyline 350Gt Premium Coupe
junkie replied to a topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Mega clean... worth the money with that kinda mileage and in that condition -
I bought my 250GT from Nagoya and very happy with it. I have my doubts about the kays and the honesty of the dealer, but bought the car based on condition not the mileage. No accidents, very straight body, nice paint, super clean inside with very little wear, no dodgy repairs, rust free, etc... came up really well after a full detail too. Two years and 20,000km later, its been faultless (knock wood) and gets driven 90km each day. Only things I've had to do is replace the crappy soft front rotors and dumped the factory single cd player that had some jap pop cd stuck inside

P21s Total Auto Wash is excellent http://www.p21s.com/products/bis_taw.html

I would be all over it... if only I had the heart to sell my S14. Very clean and good to see some realistic mileage for a change

I'll be testing clear coating on an old toyota echo. Will probably do a small write-up with process and results
