AND Federal 595RS-R tyres Paul -
Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
Bullet32 replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
The 595RS-R grips best when it is at 60 - 80C on the tread face, normally you wouldnt be able to generate that kind of heat on the street (unless you were driving very hard for a long time on a hot day). However, compared to normal street tyres the 595RS-R will provide much more dry traction even when cold. I use the RS-R's for street and track use and I dont think I will be able to go back to street tyres now, there is just so much grip available with them fitted to my Skyline... If you want extreme traction for the street you would be very happy with a set of 595RS-R's. BTW - I have managed to get 30,000kms+ from a set of 595RS before - which goes to show that you can get good mileage from them. -
Yeah I've played for years... There are some special edition Ibanez, ESP's and Washburns you can get with a resin coated neck... They do it so that its smoother and easier to run your hand up and down the neck, when your palm sweats it can stick to a painted neck. I have an Ibanez RG with a resin coated neck, locking tremlo, its really low action too (I love it)
-
Oooooh thats nice, I love ESP's... Awesome guitars if you like really low action, fast paced solo'ing etc... Does it have the resin coated neck like the ones Dino Cazares (Fear Factory) uses? I want it but I dont have $1000 spare Good luck with the sale Ben.

Whoa, hang on a sec here... I am normally the first person to have a laugh when someone says or does something stupid on these forums, but I cant understand why you guys are acting like this when Gus hasnt done anything wrong. Gus can have whatever plates he wants to have and fair enough that someone who doesnt know him might post up a bit of a dig at his car on another forum, but why would people who know him and call themselves his friends laugh at him like you guys are... I know I would feel a bit offended if I knew people were laughing at me and saying those sorts of things while I wasnt here. We arent in high school anymore, geez.

Wow, well done Michele, almost a whole 2 seconds faster than your nearest competitor... -
Spotted Zinger83 in Civic Saturday night... Nice looking and sounding R32

Paris - Do you have scavenging rights to the car or do you have to turn it over to your insurance company? The reason I ask is cos you might be able to make a few thousand stripping and selling the rest of the parts (engine, suspension, brakes etc.). P.S. I hope that the f__kers who did this get whats coming to them

TITAN is right... I really just posted that link because its a good price. If you want response and decent power, go for a GCG GT30/71R bolt on kit - perfect for smaller capacity engines up to 240 - 250rwkw.

If you look in his "garage" you will probably be disapointed.

Shannons Wheels Show 22 March 2008
Bullet32 replied to a20089's topic in Australian Capital Territory
I should be able to arrange the tent (as long as its good weather)... If its raining sideways I wont be bringing it though. -
TITAN and Cejay are right, that turbo (JJR480) looks to be a re-badged KKR480. Some people swear by these turbos but for reliability, response and overall performance they are second rate turbos. If I'm correct the KKR turbos are bush bearing, whereas the higher end brands like Garret, HKS etc are nearly all ball bearing - meaning quicker response (less lag) and better all round power delivery (not to mention reliability). If you arent planning on keeping the Skyline then go for it, but if you want something that will last as long as the car you cant go past Garret, HKS, Trust etc... They may cost more initially but if they are installed correctly with decent boost control you wont have to replace them for a long time. "Do it once, do it right".

Sdma Hillclimb This Sunday The 8th
Bullet32 replied to Tarmac-'s topic in Australian Capital Territory
I thought you enjoyed a bit of slap and tickle James... I'm up for a video / PS3 night at Michele's place, when do we turn up? -
GCG sell Garrett bolt on kits, my old GT30/71R kit came with all gaskets and bolted straight on to the manifold (with the spacer supplied, dump pipe and inlet pipe (I had to buy my own hoses and lines though).
-
Thats interesting that the Supra guys would say that seeing as they are the ones who didnt turn up to the hillclimb when challenged... In regards to your questions: 1 - Check the www.negun.com website, they usually do bolt on kits for RB engines for reasonable prices. If you are looking for only 180 - 200rwkw you wont need an aftermarket turbo at all (RB25 turbos are sufficent for that kind of power), but if you are after respose and reliability get a Garrett (or HKS) bolt on kit from ESP (6299 4444) or Trojan (6242 6277) and they will do you a deal on the install and tune. 2 - If you are looking for a cheap set of wheels there are plenty available on the for sale forum for less than $400 but dont expect to get great tyres on them... I know someone who can look after you on tyres though Also Z32 300ZX wheels have the same PCD (stud pattern) as Skyline but they're a deeper offset and have larger centre bores for the bigger 300ZX hubs so you may need spacers and hub locator rings to make them fit. 3 - The price of coilovers will depend on their brand, type and condition - buy from a reputable member (someone with positive trader ratings) and you are more likely to get a decent set. A good condition set can range from about $400 - $1500. 4 - An aftermarket computer will allow you to tune your engine much more than an add on like an SAFC, you can get a PowerFC these days for about $1400 - $1500 - which is a great plug in upgrade, there are better units available though (Vipec for example). If you want to turn the boost up from your standard turbo then just get a bleed valve (manually adjustable controller) but be careful how far you turn it up as they arent exactly reliable (I wouldnt advise turning it up more than 11 - 12psi). 5 - We meet up at shows like Marques in the park and Shannons Wheels car show, but there are also a bunch of regulars who meet up in the city every Friday night. Any more questions?
