  1. The figures are pretty much on par. F1 engines really lack torque. Engine manufacturers chase after power, not torque. The breakaway series is after the current Concord agreement which expires after 2008. It's all about Bernie Ecclestone's profit from the F1 series. The teams want a more bigger slice of the action.
  2. The R34 GTR's RB26DETT has VVT from my understanding. Don't forget, the older generation RB26's are designed way back in the 80's with the R33 GTR's engine being more a improved version only, not a complete overhaul. You may be able to but that would mean use the neo's head and changing ecu's. Not sure though.

  5. New regs say that engine has to be a 2.4L V8. Simply, they are the old V10's with 2 pistons chopped off the end. This would save teams having to R&D engines from scratch, hence costing more money. Yeah if it weren't for pnuematic valves they would have real issues reving high cause of valve bounce.

  7. That's different. Alignement is to get the suspension geometry right. Wheel balancing is to make sure the wheel itself weights evenly from side to side.

  10. Mine's weird. When I have the exhaust silencer on and try to gun it, it engine pings and I the highest read out I got was 70. Take it off and gun it, and it doesn't go above 20-30. Can anyone shed light?
  11. The revs you see on the TV aren't accurate. ITV use the accustics of the engine to determine the RPM. Teams wouldn't want to give away how many revs their engines are producing to the opposition. Check out http://www.f1technical.net/article13.html

  15. Wow! I always thought bigger rotors/calipers would have much more braking capacity than smaller rotor/caliper. What's the reasoning behind this?

  17. GTR with semi's should be quicker than a GTST/GTT with semi's. Semi's not only offer better grip but the sidewalls are MUCH stiffer, giving much better feedback.
  18. Drive for yourself and decide. GTT drives more like the Supra. Not only RWD but power delivery of the RB25NEO is linear, unlike RB26 which is very Off boost/on boost.
  19. Having 4WD does not compensate enough for having semi slicks. The cornering G's of 4WD are nowhere near RWD with slicks! Lets not forget how much later you can brake. Comp 9's were REALLY good but they demolished my standard rotors. The DBA's seem to take it a lil better. Noisy though. But yeah, better as a track only option.

  24. Standard air box is off a R32 GTR? If so I'll take it.
  25. Yeah they're replacement types alright. But even still they do suck in a lot of dirt with a new filter. If you really want to keep it, then I suggest clean it regularly. Not what HKS recommend but oh well.... If you want less hassels and worries, get something else.
