  1. My brother still has an original no HDMI etc version that has never had an error.
  2. http://www.anandtech.com/show/3774/welcome...b-xbox-360-slim That's got some pretty good info, I am considering trading up mostly for the bigger HDD, wireless and shinyness.
  3. The new model uses a new combined chip that runs cooler it's unlikely to have an RROD issue, or at least not one caused by heat. The new XBOX360 is obviously prone to marking with it's shiny case, it also proper eats discs if you are dumb enough to move the system while it's running.
  4. ZFS, unRAID or WHS no hardware RAID needed really. WHS can do replicated copies onto diferent physical disks inside it's storage pool. The Zotac H55 has 6 sata ports so that would work.
  5. You have to have damage or online is just dodgem cars.
  6. Taser in drive-stun mode, which is just pain mode there's no stun about it.
  7. Who wants a 1200x800 / 1366x768 POS screen anyway? The Q08 is looking pretty sweet, able to fit a full size graphics card in an ITX case. I am considering getting a second hand XPS M1710 or similar because you can get them cheap and they shit on a netbook but there is only a couple of laptops I'd consider as a primary system and they are inevitably well over $3000 when spec'd to my liking.
  8. Had the same thing, scream up behind, tailgate, highbeam then piss off way over the speed limit when I slowed down. I think coming to a rapid stop is justifiable if they highbeam you from behind because driving blind is bad.
  9. For real?
  10. There's only one reason to get a laptop over a tower/desktop PC - mobility, not even size matters anymore with ITX. Everything else it's cheaper for the same or better in a standard system. In terms of the 'quality' build quality etc eh pretty much the same but performance it's never laptop. The best performing laptops have cut down versions of the not quite top of the line PC gear and eat their batteries.
  11. A vote for Labor / Greens (prefs because you are lazy) is a vote for Conroy's filter. Delayed due to unpopularity, it's what this govt does.
  12. I should probably offer an alternative, keeping in mind I work for a place that does this kind of thing. Get some custom software written in .NET connecting to SQL (you can use SQL express so don't go looking at SQL licensing).
  13. I was only going by products they are actually listing.
  14. I have a recomendation for Access, run the fuck away. When it inexplicably removes all the code from your database for the 1000th time you'll get it.
  15. You can get an 1156 that will meet his requirements for around $130, even a crappy Asrock X58 is still $200. i5 750 will play all the latest games at $248 while the lowest i7 (still better than the i5) is $350+ i7 jacks up the cost pretty quick and then eats into the money available for a GPU which you'd want to be able to do 1920x1080 with vsync. The i5 OCs fairly well too. I like spending other people's money too but 'gaming pc' is a very loose term, just look at dezz' FS thread, lolerskates.
  16. I was saying SATA3 is unecessary. A $1500 or less system is not going to accomodate drives that will come close to needing SATA3 or indeed most X58 boards that have SATA3/USB3
  17. even with SSDs in RAID0 sets SATA 2 is rarely saturated. USB 3 maybe.
  18. Bozodos, upgrade your shit.
  19. Remember the good old days when games when essentially completely ignored by the OFLC?
  20. The 3450 is not a gaming card that's for sure.
  21. Especially playing a game so old that it could be played on a MX440
  22. Post the service tag.
  23. Let go guys, let it go.
