  1. sau shop Croydon racing development have a sale on garrett turbos at the moment' worth checking out for pricing. the one you marked is fine. I use the JJR bellmouth, fine and fits well. Buy & Install the turbo, install the fmic, fix the current dump pipe, get a nistune. sounds great !! can do that ^^ all in the $2500 budget

  5. After a little advice & some knowledge from the SAU guru's. Garrett GT30 Precision T3 turbo A/R.42 & EX.82 Compressor Housing stamped Garrett A/R.42 M24 EC-2 Compressor wheel 56trim 7-blade 4-bolt housing Exhaust wheel 11-blade, Exhaust housing stamped Garrett 441326-016 M1 A/R 0.82 Rated to 525hp (?) I gather I need an external wastegate, and a 4-bolt custom dump pipe 3" modifying my current JJR bellmouth dump/ront pipe Any info about this turbo, expectations, how to mount and what sort of external wastgate to use and where to install ? or can the rear housing be swapped out for an Internal Wastegate setup? thoughts plx.. thanks. this is for an auto RB25det, cams/head etc. to upgrade from Slide turbo Pics hosted here for the time being: ( http://www.auctiva.com/hostedimages/showim...,0&format=0 ) http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarre...0382_12_new.pdf
  6. thanks heaps mate ! yeah really happy with it atm, next route whenever that is will be a GT30 for sure all the advice (ta peeps!) is for the 3076r so thats the go. unless I find a 3071r for half price new feels / sounds / goes well as-is atm so gotta be smiley with that done 3 night hills runs, hasnt missed a beat at all hard on boost thru corners 2x posted recommended speed 2or3rd gear its really really fun! nicely sorted and doesnt get out of line (ie in my lane the whole time on runs, as a exbiker I know how important it is for cars to stay on their side of the road thru corners), but feel the attessa doing its thing. oh and re the auto, with the mv auto shift kit and full service from mike at MV auto's, the auto really is matching up very well, atm, to the engine package. only "hold" off the gearing is a 3rd to 4th flare, takes a little while to change over but then again the ecu redline rpm limiter is set to 7000 and derestricted, so thinking its just how it is, not an issue just takes 2sec to flick over, above speed limit tho... so again around town lower rpm isnt an issue. drives awesome

  10. cheers wolverine, I'll look towards a new Garrett GT3071r-IW BB or for a little less $$ and lots of late night searchs perhaps a slightly used HKS GT2540 240awkw will be a nice mark, say around 250rwkw all in good time tho. feels awesome as is in 2nd and 3rd gear, auto is feeling strong, but 4th gear & Overdrive gear, turbo feels too small for the Head work rpm low while the turbo is huffing... need a loooooooooooooong road to see. but no strip in adelaide. head stuff;- yeah fully decked out ported etc. 2000$ installation job. plus my parts $3000 again, feels so amazing, the engine is topz! very happy with the end result although I shouldnt have spent that money never mind anyway, stated out my plan to sell some parts & the slide turbo (all up at least $1300), grab a garrett and tune !! happy dance

  12. looking thru things at the moment no rush, but will be upgrading the turbo and net the mid-240kw power/ phat~torque levels Ive been aiming for not shitting on this slide highflow, a good little streeter like a journal knock-off version of the hks 2530, but all-in-all fricken good for $600 (oil/water/360deg~thrust/Stage-2 hiflow) but a better turbo would surely see 30kw gains through-out the midrange and top end something from garrett like the gt2876r (aka hks 2835), most likely a gt3071r (aka hks 2540), or gt3076r. hks 2540 looks the goods TBH. cheers. +/-250kw would be very nice wouldnt it. : no rush tho : got to enjoy it as is. went out again thru the hills last night, thats 3 runs now. top gear the turbo hasnt the puff to produce more than 3500rpm 3rd gear rips thru past 6500rpm and sounds glorious 1st gear isnt really needed, and 2nd is proper for corners

  15. a unit such as Emanage Ultimate would be ideal, for air:fuel, ignition timing control etc. or perhaps do a remap chip in your stock ecu? im using a remap from sau user Toshi, plus an Apexi safc-ii for air:fuel control, plus Apexi sitc for ignition timing with an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (if applicable in N/A?) along with an adjustable exhaust cam gear wheel could net you some great gains. good luck with it. $ wise, an Ultimate + exhaust cam gear + setup/tune would be around $1500 incl service matrials, at a good workshop of course

  18. thanks heaps!! ahh, 225kw without the cat, ... cant sleep, thinking: going to hammer thru a 3" perforated tube thru the cat converter, to free up a bit of power going to sell all the parts I still have hold of here, that will net a total of 1grand once thats done I will sell the intercooler for $450 and the Slide turbo + oil line for $550 (turbo is perfect) then I'll buy a larger fmic 600x300x76 (not return feed) complete ICS-Performance ecr33 kit for $350 and a garret GT3071r-iw for $1600 with lines a tube will take the air from front left up into the pod filter, thru the hole currently setup for the return feed fmic better induction over the 390x280x76 apexi return feed cooler, better flow to the pod filter from the snorkel + air-dam Dayz front bar the cat converter will still 'perform' with a perforated pipe thru the guts, as gases will still be able to flow and mix with the internals while being less restrictive than current the turbo will be 40kw better and then it'll be tuning, and more tuning, so as it is got to get some parts sold, such as : NEW rb25 to greddy plenum using stock throttle body adapter kit - $100 q45 90mm throttle body - $150 2x700cc Sard intake manifold + HKS AIC IV addition injector controller - $500 stock cam shafts - $100 stock cam gear cover - $50 stock exhaust cam gear pulley - $50 stock turbo dump pipe & stock front pipe $50 & then the intercooler then the turbo went for a rip again last night, so so awesome!! if you get poncams get the 8.8mm spring lifters plus a head gasket too. worth it definately. I went for arp head bolts as well, plus obvioulsy decked out the head while it was all off. Poncams, springs & head gasket would probably suffice tho. very very smooth, needs a better setup as outlined above for the tru potential to show.

  21. lol at your lungs, sorry I know, what a head-f'k yeah, but very happy with the outcome. prior to going in the car was faultless, honestly. as far as I know.... boostworxs are awesome, I wasnt worried about the time (7.5 weeks) but the family was stuck-up me looked after me car-wise and cost-wise, and again, very happy with the outcome will do more tuning time in a cple months time, prior to next service + the additional fuel mockup oh- whats that about the block? maybe I dont know something , , , lol

  23. you'll be ok mate. my car's a sleeper too. no issues in the ownership of it, and none with the v8 sedan before that....would be right on 9yrs now without any issues, personally drive sensibly and never get a speeding fine. drive 100% concentrating on whats around you, good posture, good steady clean control - no fkn about, and you'll be fine enjoy your experiences!
  24. hahahaha!! saw a yellow 750cc 2000 gsxr for 7k the other day. :drools: going to sell the Nubira '03 4cyl 5spd man. 2.0L, 24000kms, leather interior, blue sedan, 14" wheels, 4wdisc-brake etc we'll eventually swap for a mazda tribute, I can fit in the back of those so it'd be great for the kids and missus. probably a 5k changeup the Stag is a great package, went for a quickie again. TW Engineering + BoostWorx have done a top job. loving this head+cams greatness
