  1. rb25: Tomei 256deg cams and 8.8mm Tomei springs are a good fit ! rb26 - dunno sorry, but something like the above would probably only be "mild" on a built rb26. 272's then, perhaps. what turbos, bottom end combo will the head be utilising, plz ?
  2. thats a metal core. and yeah it'll flow well. Look for a 100cpi item tho. did the same, got a 200cpi from usa, welded it up with flanges, but still restrictive in a sense; put a 1" hole thru the middle flows better
  3. might do for my rear right h.s. crack......... sweet got paint for the silky snow pearl, and mix instructions, so yeah wouldnt mind hit'n that option up for a quick bumper repair.
  4. or buy our Daewoo Nubira, 24000kms, setup like that.
  5. since Ive redecked out the head, with Tomei 256/256 cams and Tomei 8.8mm springs plus all the rest, Ive been LOVING the engine. As a matter of fact my engine is now too-good for my Slide Highflow, so Im currently looking around for a slightly better (ie 30kw more) turbo.... quite amazing to hear the car in Overdrive top speed0 at 3000rpm; needs more tuning time. poncams + gears with headwork etc has made me soooo in love with me stag
  6. right on! that all sounds fantastic, and of course IMHO Neil should feel free to have a recognisable account. excellent committment and work-ethic from all involved- congratulations! sounds really great reading it thru again & again. so constructive! * going to move my boost guage - no way my head can hit that being so tall, but I'll comply other than that.... wd!
  7. thats fantastic!!! well done Nene and everyone involved. well done
  8. Id be rebuilding the current engine, or grabbing the 4k (plus shipping) perth option. problem is the aussie $$ atm, if this happened June last year youd be rebuilding for ~$6ish LOOK around more. MOAR I SAY research heaps on the net - get the complete parts list you need. I reckon shopping around world wide on the net you can get all your parts cheap enough then hassel and hassel some more for a good price for labour for the rebuilding, rundown and tune process. Raw Brokerage have an engine for $3500usd. Buy other parts from them and get shipping cheaper. http://shop.rawbrokerage.com/category.sc?categoryId=31 Lewis Engines do a basic $6500 rebuild job. thats a good starting point IMHO. http://www.lewisengines.com.au/prod245.htm For another $3000 for a fully decked out head and you'd be loving it ! http://www.lewisengines.com.au/prod178.htm Id be chatting to Lewis Engines about your current engine and parts you have and what you want out of it. good luck. But yeah for say 8-9k you can be onroad again pulling decent power knowing everything is fresh and ready & waiting for more when you are.

  11. shit happens when we installed my bush bearing turbo, with oil restrictor in modified line custom made (before hand !! pays to be ready), we annealed the copper washers and installed oil pissed everywhere.......... obviously not good. shut off, tightened the washers as hard as mechanically possible, and all was good. my tuner ended up replacing the washers, and altering the line again, when doing some headwork recently, but had been good for 2yrs before with a dodgy install. shit happens, sounds like it wasnt all that bad (bar being dicked and dicked around) really and Hypergear says they helped out as much as possible? sounds like great service actualy !! just POOR service and dodgy work from the workshop "next door". dont use cowboys, only the best tuners. oh, and 187kw at 10psi is awesome. r&r is hitting in so low as there is a huge amount of air being pushed around..... tune time with some sort of ECU mod 1
  12. delemere delemere delemere delemere delemere delemere delemere delemere delemere delemere delemere delemere delemere blackwood, cheery gardens, clarendon, meadows, ashbourne, strathalbyn, macceslfield, meadows, nangita, mt compas, victor rd to outskirts-turn off to myponga, yankallila, second valley, delemere road up/down then up again, then into victor harbour for a break (meal), thru to goolwa, sthrathalyn, calington, mt barker and home dispersing after the freeway tunnel. thats a great run. all good roads, stay in the left lane and overtake where possible (no risks). long drive, some sections pretty flat-chat.

  14. corvett stingray is my favourite car ('77 V8 Id take) I really like the new prototype. totally "stingray" oooh yeah
  15. 14psi on a vg30 and 14psi on a gt3071r are 2 very different things different turbos = different air flow rates regardless of the same boost pressure IMHO - get a proper fpr and a proper fuel pump. Walbro is shit, go for Bosch 040 minimum or Bosch 044 also get a $160 Nismo adj.fuel pressure regulator and get away from the sard rising-rate regulator; wrong kind IMO for this application. make sure you have a Z32 afm.... insulating the coilpacks isnt good enough - selleys industrial strength #401 high-temp silicone sealant all-round as a minimum, to stop wasted spark. then tune the SAFC properly again, go elsewhere to a reputable tuner if you need to, but have a big tuning session done, with the fuel being reliable from the Bosch/Nismo combo..... tune tune tune around your reported R&R and you'll be better, all better Id recommend some more ECU mods, such as a remap.
