reinstalled and taken back off again leaking oil still on top of piston #6 fk me what could be wrong with it? told em to replace the seat, seal and guide, its been pressure tested and passed - perhaps a cracked head? if a cracked head, how can that fkn happen, when the car was fine before the tune - no oil usage, no smoke etc. how do heads crack? possible that the machinist dropped it?? any advice plz

Ive got a cold air inductiion box from sau SA member Maxx. was for an R34 and is sheet metal etc. uses the stock standard snorkel and has the area below from the two original intercooler pipe holes..... Im using return air feed cooler so my holes are being used but when I go to a Greddy plenum and redo the fmic I will have a hole spare and can tube in more cold air induction. so, z32 afm sits on outside of the metal box with lid and stock snorkel feed coming in, air from underneath if you have an upgraded fmic, pod filter sits securly inside and the lid closes it all off. no engine hay heat to speak off, although the heatsoak is quite extreme so the inner side of my CAI setup is heat-foam insulated. pics when I get the Stag back from headwork. .... still waiting.

valve stem seals were seen to be all within tolerance. although Im pretty sure Neo stem seals were sent to me in my parts order. the valve guides have been replaced and the original install work re-gone over, builder couldnt find a fault as all was within 'normal' scope. being re-installed now, tuned tomorrow so we'll see how the story ends.

damn man thas heaps unlucky go garrett such as GT3071 or GT2871 or rebuild the current turbo - get quotes from major turbo builders on the eastern seaboard.....
-
drop the exhaust off from the turbo housing and give it a run on the dyno. but first see if the rear wheel of the turbo is still intact and not in the cat converter if it makes the power then check the cat to see if its shagged - could be a major restriction there,
-
you mean an exhaust manifold. maybe one day I'll grab a decent brand name stainless steel mig welded 2nd hand item off ebay (around $450US) same goes for the intake manifold, one day would like a Greddy plenum, rerouting the fmic as neccesary

uggh damnations 4.5 weeks later and no stagea still. going to be a while i guess; unless the head was given back to the builder (faulty n0.6 stem seal) so want it back. was anxious for a while (side effect of the Durogesic fentyanl pain patches) but ok now. man, the sweats. major fricken sweats with the patch. yuko

love joel to hell. great bloke and top family, little kid is the greatest pity he's moved on, always trusted his advice and opinions, moreso than any other. will be missed. SA section needs more skyline/RB related stuff.

the R35 GTR must be absolutely amazing the brakes, amazing. the bike in this instance was a good fair choice, just the extra massive breaks from the GTr, and its stability thru the corners, kept it up and in front. would like to see the comparison 1 half-hour later after they have run the lap 3 times...... would be slightly closer than 3secs but not by much. GTR must be awesome. enough said. the bike was ridden well, cple corners I saw he was hesitant with the car in front of him so I really reckon 2 more laps and the bike rider would be more comfortable and even more "committed" as they were saying. nice find, thanks for that.

its a beaut car. NOW, I say, if you were say 50yrs old you wouldnt have beeen defected......and wouldnt be! there. said it.

went to a Natrad store, got a Koyo 24mm radiator for an r33 gtst. slightly thicker than stock. temps have been down by 10% on the guage since fitted

all I can think of is a faulty valve seat or seal. or a faulty port job. any thoughts ?

i reckon they are a good, cheap and home-doable mod. great value IMHO for the money, in terms of how they make the Stagea "take more note" of the road. my stag is for me and the family, and its a very pleasant ride. not 100% Calais-like plush kind of smooth, but nevertheless very nice in traffic and a blast in the hills with awesome "feel". good writeup, make some good valid points, but I cant see any negatives to the pineapples in all honesty. having sampled the car for 1yr before and 2yrs after, definately a top mod in my books for around $110 and an hour of your time under the car. makes the Stagea behave perfectly, tbh. * S1, auto, 200kw, bilstein shocks, stock springs, whiteline front castor kit, whiteline pinapple rear subframe alignment kit, whiteline front and rear adjustable swaybars, dayz engine swaybar

hi'yas since start of December had my car in the shop doing a big head upgrade job, port etc with poncams, etc the head was fitted and everything setup but was hell smokey while running a pull down of the head reveals oil on top of piston no.6, other 5 are dry and fine what can cause a failure in around the back area of the head? oil pressure has been restricted at the head with x2 tomie oil gallery restrictors, then again at the turbo becuase pressure was too high there. the turbo oil restrictor is now set and works well for the correct flow (journal bearing turbo) however head has the issue with piston no.6 oil on surface area, ie leak from head in that specific area. was "wet" on top when others were dry used 6mm new valve seals, new valve seats and guides but stock valves. head was ported etc, by a rebuilder outsourced by the garage, with a Cometic head gasket (1.2mm x 87mm) & arp head stud kit, along with 8.8mm lift kit and poncams (tomei) with oil restrictors Please - any thoughts on what may have failed? Ive said to the tuner that it must be a head installation problem, car was fine beforehand; want to send the head back to the rebuilder to be redone properly - or at least redone over piston no.6 area. whats the go here?? thoughts ??

Best Place To Get A Head Job On My 33

2 weeks for the head work. Perhaps they (not the tuner- outsourced) needed to spend more time on the last cylinder. grrrrr -

so it sounded good did it? bugga, so needing to hear it / see it / drive it after 3 weeks of anxiety, lol yeah white series 1, the 2x oil restrictors up in the head was loading up the bottom end pressure and leaking out through the turbo oil seals hope they arnt rooted, spent this weekend worrying looking at 2nd hand hks turbos.... hehehe, no cash tho. they are making up an oil restrictor for the turbo line, just needs to be balanced well to not let thru too much but yet enough for the journal bearings no, boostwerks arnt usually open on weekends but coming up the xmas they are flat chat glad to hear they looked after you and got stuff done. best to always let shaun know what you want done with a list of work, set a date and let them do their thing. hopefully can report on the safc + sitc + fpr + Toshi remap + poncams / highflow / headflow work...... soon ..... -
simple, next time you hear the van - race outside with BIG iron bar whacking your own hand, and stand by your car. narkers of course do this three or four times and he wont go near you !!!
