Weird Looks When Back Widows Are Down!
Tangles replied to bluesky4me's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers

under the front passenger seat is a cable that runs from the attessa computer to the ecu, I think. mine was 'perforated' when we installed a cdstacker under the seat. 4wd flashed randomly and had me rather stressed. check the cable for abrasions, check the fluid too, might require a bleed ?

sweet, I'll arrange one. start down south, goes to "my driveway" then onto "my garage", a couple of real nice places, its a one way street though and unfortunately for everyone else on the cruise will fit only your old mans car. One way street, the land of no return. Please come again. look ma me just scored a car. muahahahah bwahahahaha muahahaahaha ! mods, please retitle "tangles new car" swwweeeet cant wait to lock her up.

thank you all for your time today in helping me with this issue. appreciated

:laughing-smiley-014: cheers mate ! yeah, the cpu is my original from 2 years ago, new same as all the other components when I built the pc originally - although Im uprgading it with a new cpu soon (3.4 new, now 2yrs old, to 3.8 brand new). the original video card was new 2 yrs ago, and added 2ndhad one a few months ago. both work fine stand alone. in sli mode the textures will only get corrupted under "heavy stress" such as an artillery strike drop right on my head in Battlefield2. Or the pc will shut down completely. Randomly. but only when under graphical duress. 2 of the 1gig ram is new (from when I bought the new mobo, then new psu a few months ago) but also was using 2 of the exact same type of 1gig ram that was 2 yrs old (took one out as it was touching the power supply cord to the mobo 24pin connector). so, I had 2 lots of 2gig matched ram (4 gig total), all the same model number, but took one out. hence have had 3 gig in the machine being picked up as 2.12ghz (damn win xp pro). was going to go Vista to use the 4 gig properly, but have held off so far. anyways, fixes. 1 gig for sale with my old mobo (100$ ebay is current bid), 1 gig for sale seperately ($35 ebay). so, I'll be back to 2 x 1gig sticks 533 ram which is only a cple months old. yes, seems as if ram is most likely the problem. stupid me. I thought it would be fine to run 3 x 1gig sticks in liue of 4 x 1gig sticks where 1 stick was rubbed up against the psu supply cord to the mobo. safety first = stupid for ever. grrrrrrr.

Ive been told the sli bridge connector can cause issues, and to try it all without it on. will take out the "spare" ram chip tho, she's now on ebay 4sale lol. will do memtest got a fresh fdd to install tonight, and will update the bios (old fdd is broken) will drill hole and install new fan over 2x video cards cheers for the thoughts
-
cheers, yeah was running 4 x 1gig sticks, 2 sets of matched ram. found tho that the 4th stick sat against power supply lines, wasnt happy with that so I took it out. That one is being sold with my old mobo on ebay for $100 (current bid), just put up the other 3rd stick on ebay for $35. These 2 sticks were approx 2yrs old. Will keep current 3month old 2 x 1gig matched ram @ 533mhz sticks. But will also do Cubes mentioned memtests on them. Im thinking the power supply is 650w rated up to 700w, actually. yes might be the issue, but wont bloody replace that, rather sell both cards and 'upgrade' again for minimal cost to a 2900xt ($500). Heat. too hot in the box, for sure...... gggrr so hard to work out what could be the definate answer. I dont believe either cards were fried when the power fried itself. They work fine as stand-alone. cheers for the advice.... at me wits end. done so many driver updates, tried heaps of different graphical settings. but yeah, tonight, drill new fan hole and install extra fan, take out extra ram stick, do tests.
-
maybe using 3gig ram is silly. will take out the older ram module......
-
she does get damned hot, thats for sure. heats up the room nicely in winter !!! Im sure the ram is all matched..... will do the tests Cubes. cheers

cheers for the thoughts nah no artifacts or evidence of the 2nd card being previously overclocked and damaged. I know my original card is as good as new. definately no architecture corruptions. beautiful crisp and precise video output, the game is a pleasure to play (all I do on the pc is listen to music, search, and play BF2 in clan wars and pub servers) hhmmm, might drill out a hole in the clear case under the current central fan (pushing air out), to push air in towards the 2 cards which sit right down low. I have a 90mm fan but only a 60mm drill hole bit, lol. was worried about the new power supply, I dont want to change that as I think it should suffice. same thoughts with the current ram sticks.

Ok, need some help / advice from the resident techies, please I have the following system: Intel 650 Pentium-4 3.40ghz (upgrading to new Intel 670 3.8ghz) Asus P5N32SLI Deluxe Motherboard (brand new) 3 x 1gig sticks of Elixier 533mhz ddr2 Ram (2 of these new) MSI 7800GTX 256mb graphics card MSI 7800GTX 256mb graphics card (both in 16x sli mode) 2 x 200gig sata HD 7200rpm (both in RAID0 setup) Silicon Image Sata Raid Controller pci card 1 x 80gig sata HD 7200rpm 1 x new floppy drive 1 x LG dvd burner drive Thermaltake Soprano case, extra fans Thermaltake Golden Orb cpu fan Super Flower 650W power supply with braided lines (brand new) SoundBlaster Xfi Music card Zalman 5.1 6channel surround sound headphones Soloman 5.1 6channel surround sound speaker system with subwoofer CMV 19inch monitor Logitech G15 keyboard Logitceh G5 mouse Windows XP Pro Built it up slowly, like a car I suppose, over the past cple of years. OK, here is the deal. I got the 2nd MSI 7800GTX 256mb video card off ebay recently, tested it, works as good as my original which is in great condition. Set it all up, bam, fried my original 430w power, so I got the 650w sli power supply. Been running sli mode with every game of Battlefield 2, but the PC sometimes crashes to desktop, or it freezes totally requiring a restart, or it'll suddenly lag up (once naded or artied) and the ground will turn to snow, the plants will turn polar white, and I'll move at 1 frame per second. Ive tried numerous nvidia drivers, some modified and tweaked, some real old, some new, all the same IMO. SLi is giving me extraordinary feautures with architecture etc, even when everything in the Control Panel is turned off (bar sli x16 mode) and bf2 settings all on low to medium. When the control panel settings are on full blast, the 2 cards offer huge performance....... awesome. But either or, it'll randomly freeze or lag up or shut down the pc, no matter what the settings or the rendering mode Im using. very random, can happen twice in a night, or not at all for 2 weeks. Im lost. Tried all I can. Is it perhaps the power supply? I think its a 600w base supply to a max of 650w on overrun, so to speak. Could it be a heat issue? These cards pump out a huge amount of heat - perhaps install a fan that draws in outside air to blow all over the 2 cards? Any suggestions? Ive got the Soprano case so there are fans-a-plenty already installed. Im thinking of selling them both (450 delivered, currently sinffing out on ebay whether someone wants them) and getting a 2900XT instead. But Id rather not, these 2 beauties when stable are unreal. Any suggestions? Oh, Ive bought a new Intel 670 3.8ghz chip and sold my Intel 650 3.4 chip, awaiting delivery. Can also sell the 3 gig 533mhz ram for 2gig 667 ram I suppose. Help !!! Im sick of the random freezing. Its not often, but enough to be totally unpredictable. What could be causing this? My first venture with SLI and I love the graphical nature of the 2 cards. Even when not on full steam. aarrrggghhhhhh

I feel sinista is right, youve been done over dude. did you get their badge numbers? report the incident today at your nearest police station; make that report AND DONT BACK DOWN, complain about the BS treatment you received. you did nothing wrong, so make a stand for your rights.

slide it bigtime.... get sideways, work out which glass jars break and never buy that brand again. lol 'sif as if thats an issue, never had a problem myself.

NO. why use splitfires prior to even trying to coat the stnd coilpacks in the hi-temp silicone ? 350USD vs 10USD
-
high temp heat silicon (selley's 401 industrial strength silicone sealant) for $13.00 (thats $10usd) worked fine for me

I had a very late model VR V8 BT-1 excop (unbadged SS) sedan, 215kw tuned, worked slightly, etc. Owned it for 5yrs. Stagea is by far the better car. Bit of tuning works and it blows away my ex V8 in every aspect. Stagea is my 10yr car+, see no other need to ever owning something else. Neo engine is newer, slightly revised. But at end of the day S1 and S2, once modded, very little difference in it. exhaust would be 3inch fron turbo to cat converter ($220), highflow 3" cat ($200), cat back system, 3inch with straight thru muffler ($400?), add larger front mount intercooler, add highflow panel filter, add adjustable fuel pressure regulator, add larger fuel pump, add piggybacks for tuning such as an apexi SAFC / SITC combo, along with highflowed turbocharger, looking at an easy 200awkw there. Insurance is same for stagea as for commodore, for me. Thru Shannons have a troll thru the forums.......
