my psu is great 650 up to 700w plug-in braided lines, quality is right up there IMO why Im going higher? - well, it has 2 only connectors for 6pin pcie with my 2900xt's I need 4 connectors for 6pin pcie (and have bought 2x 6pin-8pin converters) this 650w psu I have worked beautifully with 2x 7800GTX's MSI brand 256b each on full bore

well tomorrow is 10year work date started 1/9/1997 fulltime so, as of monday Im up for LongServiceleave, 13 weeks paid leave plus I accrue another 4 weeks annual leave off from 10th september to about 10th november fitting in the patellectomy of the remaining kneecap on 13th sept, so I'll be pretty sore for the next 6months mind you, cant be as bad as things are atm arrrgh

if youve got a sli motherboard, a decent psu, a decent set of ram and a good cpu, I reckon youd be silly to buy one single $1000 8800gtx-oc when compared to two $500 2900xt's or two $500 8800gts's

fishpaste; with my 'compare-o' of the 2x 7800gtx to 1x 2900xt. I got that 7800gtx a few years ago (work pc which I did a dodgy swap on, cheers work, LOL) when they were $800 each. added another one for $200 earlier this year. just saying that for under $500 one single 2900xt is so much "better" then what the 7800gtx was when new. ie half the price, better performance. thats the angle I was taking.

i know i know, was just spoiling myself didnt need too, but meh I suxored myself in and bought the 2nd one never mind been putting so much into my house (20k ahead now) I just wanted to spend a little on myself. for once. all pretty much done with the car mods (got $1500 for next service/fluidchange/moremods/tune on 10th sept and then shiftkit/autoservice mid november). reason to my madness; when my kiddies get a little older they can utilise one when I build them a pc, in a year or so. when your knees are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO f**king sore a little retail therapy can help. not who am I kidding

mmmmm always been nvidia user myself until I got the 512mb XT2900 my card outperforms 2x 7800GTX's in sli mode serious way better graphics and similar if not better performance the 1gb versions are currently $700 each the 512mb versions are $475 each. I got my 2nd one this week. all up could have gone for 1x 8800gtx or 2x 2900xt's am awaiting delivery of my 850w Coolermaster (6rail) psu, plus another 6pin-8pin adapter (performance-pcs.com roughly $14aud) with the 1bg versions, is it worth the cash ? dunno.................

double the price tho reviews state that the R120 watercooling kit performs up there with the best tested on a 2gig system the testers could clock by over 50% anyway, its replacing my $75 Golden orb copper heatsink/fan unit, which Ive sold to work for $50 so it was a $50 upgrade, lol

hey pauley, yeah I thought about the 1000w coolermaster psu but I reckon the 850w should be fine. couldnt justify 50% more for the purchase price for 150w of available extra power supply the coolermaster pro 850w and 1000w psu's are six rail supplys, so that should be very stable for a top end system if anyone is after water/liquid cooling for cpu only, Id definately recommend the coolermaster R120 water cooler. amazing value I reckon, compared to a top end copper heatsink & fan. very very loud tho !!!! edit: this pc has to keep me happy for a while, seeing the funds came from my awesome motorbike I had to sell

lmfao !!! :laughing-smiley-014: hahaha, funny shite yeah, well, 2yrs ago I built a $1300 pc for me and a $2000 pc for work; I swapped them lol (only pc user at work) recently, I pulled parts out from my home pc and sold them (got some good ca$h for parts as well, surprised) and bought brand new current-day stuff (ie video card(s), ram, cpu, sound card). all in all this new beast is worth say $3500 but only cost me say $2000 ish (1300 + new stuff) so Im happy

well........ Ive been saving my hard earned cash for months now, not spending on anything been putting away onto the homeloan etc decided to go the whole hog, so Ive bought a Coolermaster 850w Pro psu and an extra Xpertvision 2900XT to go crossfire mode with. sweeet. hahaha cant believe how stupid I am, but meh no more upgrades for a loooooooooooooonnng time (no need) will be selling a near new 4month old SuperFlower 650w sli psu if anyone is interested, ~$100, braided lines etc etc also, set up my basic $90 Coolermaster R120 water cooling cpu system. amazing. running my 3.8ghz cpu at 4.5ghz and it is barely "warm" sweeeeeeeeet. the radiator is like a fricken stock r33 intercooler in size !!! coolio's. :sorcerer:

FYI; pinout on ecu is the same as for an R34GTT, although my 1997 engine is definately a non-Neo........ this is something I'd look at in 12months time or so

Look at EBAY international for an ARC side mount cooler can find em for a "decent" price used, flush with kero/metho mix and pick the fins so it looks/flows like brand new apparently very good coolers or for a fmic, look at the Apexi coolers on ebay international, suited for 180sx like the attached. return feed, no chopping of the front bar reinforcement and an easy installation they are a hybrid, ie half tubr&fin half bar&plate good for over 220rwkw
