Some R33 Parts [sa]
Tangles replied to zilla34's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I bought the GFB stealth fx bov today, installed it, very happy. cheers dude -

well, I found a cheap GFB Stealth FX skyline atmo (or) plumback bov. off for a drive across adelaide and will be picking it up shortly. Id imagine that when set to 100% plumback mode it should run alright on the rb25det. if I installed it straight away would I require a retune or would it be safe to drive? car seems to be running slightly rich at the moment. or is it safer to wait till next tune to install it - along with the heavy duty actuator with a quick 1hr dyno session to retune the top end (probably around new years time) cheers

+1 to all the above Mate you have a sliding performance hiflow turbo, under warranty. The only course for your action is to send the turbo to the warranty workshop. Seeing you sent it to GCG (they didnt make it & dont warrant it, obviosuly) who are competitors to the turbo manufacturer; that is at your cost. Without doubt. However, now that you have a list of defects from GCG, again follow the above advice and provide a copy of the defects along with the defective turbo charger, for a replacement item under warranty. simple really - you just have to make the 1st step by contacting the turbo manufacturing workshop. News to me that they wernt made inhouse. hhmmm. Brings a 3rd party into it and thats a pity, but they made the turbo and they warrent it, so you have to contact them and proceed further down that road. Call the manufacturer and discuss it............ good luck dude Ive got one of these turbos and I like it all I want is 2-3 yrs from it and then Id consider it "cost effective" ownership, due to the original 'cheap' price

My setup, using Castrol Dot4 super response fluid Rear: Stock discs Bendix Heavy-Duty brake pads Maltech stainless steel brake lines Front: DBA slotted rotors Bendix Advance brake pads Maltech stainless steel brake lines Works very very well in the urban environment. Impressed actually, considering it hasnt been a huge upgrade. Peddle feel is nice and progressive compared to braking performance. Gives me confidence to stop in a hurry if need be. never had an accident before......

it does sound quite 'airy' at high boost. might look for a GTR bov, what year would I need for a '97 rb25? If I need to replace the stnd bov I would definately be after a plumb back unit that wont leak at 1bar; Turbosmart I guess. ordered from Nengun a HKS Heavy Duty actuator and a nice 1.3kp radiator cap.

what about the Sard kit ? http://www.nengun.com/sard/cooling-spray or the Cusco http://www.nengun.com/cusco/water-spray-contoller Pivot http://www.nengun.com/pivot/water-spray-controller get an auto electrician to install it

whats the better option - HKS Heavy Duty Actuator for $135 delivered for Nissan Stagea from Nengun, or a Garrett version. Id like my engine to be able to hold the boost for longer...........

my car came with a turbotech manual boost controller - I could never trust it (via the Apexi boost guage). was too erratic for my liking parted it out for a 6pack and installed the electronic 2stage Hybrid controller, much better, more stable with no boost fluctuations. AFAIK my ebc is having an issue holding 1bar with the hiflow turbo due to the stock turbo actuator; will replace it.....

Ok, had my last tune done a few weeks back. Automatic, hiflow Slide turbo, usual mods etc, 183kw. Boost seems to be dropping off..... car ramps up on the street to 105kmph so perfectly, then there is the boost drop and you can see that has a stranglehold on peak power. Tune curve looks good for an automatic, 4th gear, with 2x piggyback controllers (Sitc / SafcII). If the boost held better I have no doubt a bit more (10kw+) power ultimately could be found in the top-end. Torque is fairly impressive, and on road 0-100km is very nice indeed for a family wagon. But - what to do about the boost drop. Get a HKS adjustable turbo actuator, and set to 1bar, so that it holds peak boost for longer? Power is down tho, lat tune 189kw this tune 183kw. Feels more responsive on the street tho. Had the group-buy Aerospeed adjustable cam gear wheel installed, wonder if it was set correctly (ie retarted 4degrees and not advanced 4degrees!); plus had to have the water pump replaced too. Other than that, its all good. This was my 30k project over the past 2yrs (incl car price + mods + labour/tunes), and now its all done. Just figure tho that it isnt quite right, feels great but the graph shows the boost loss and a cple kws down on what it should have. What to do about it? * might save up for a DrDrift ecu remap (1300 hundred! I think) and 500cc injectors, then retune still using the SAFC/SITC combo * Any hints tips comments appreciated. tangles ************************ Dayz special edition series 1 Stagea RS V Four, 94000kms, automatic, RB25DET engine, Attessa 4wd 1997 model silky snow pearl, lives in southern Adelaide Clarion stereo tape unit with 6-stack cd player Clarion amp Clarion 10inch subwoofer Pioneer 260w 4-way front door speakers Eclipse 80w 2-way rear door speakers Black Widow 10000 car alarm New Oxygen sensor New 400amp battery New fuel filter New oil filter, fresh Motul 10/40w Turbolite engine oil Fresh fluid throughout, 100,000km service done (new water pump, belts, all fluids, exhaust studs etc) Davies Craig automatic transmission oil cooler upgrade kit MV Automatic shift kit & service kit Whiteline front and rear adjustable swaybars Dayz adjustable engine swaybar Whiteline front castor kit Whiteline rear subframe alignment kit Maltech stainless steel braided brake lines, front and rear DBA slotted front brake discs Benidx Advance front and Heavy Duty rear brake pads R34 GTT 17inch rims with Hankook K104 Vetus tyres, 235/45/17 Bilstein front and rear suspension shocks, with ‘lowering’ circlips, using standard springs Bosch 040 fuel pump with direct battery feed at 13.8volts Volt stabiliser kit Aerospeed adjustable exhaust cam gear pulley wheel Greddy remote oil filter relocation kit Sump plug drain valve Nismo adjustable fuel pressure regulator Nissan Z32 Air Flow Meter 3inch JustJap stainless steel single dump pipe system 3inch Catco high flow catalytic converter 3inch cat-back exhaust system with GTR Kakimoto racing free flow muffler K&N pod filter Cold Air Induction aluminium box w/ lid setup, using standard snorkel air feed Hybrid dual stage Electronic Boost Controller, set to 1bar Apexi 'hybrid' front mount intercooler with custom return air feed pipe kit using stock holes Apexi boost gauge Apexi SAFC Super Air Fuel Computer Apexi SITC Super Ignition Timing Computer Sliding Performance water/oil cooled bush bearing HiFlow Turbocharger 183kw @1bar in 4th gear

lol, yeam ummmmmm thanks to your water pump shitting itself, my car (white stagea) wasnt ready for pickup....... just needs the tune. I thoughtfully pre-shat my waterpump so it was actually replaced yesterday. lol. damn. nice gtr by the way. leaving my car there till friday arvo (wife will have to drive it, nooooooooo); they will rip out the 'cooler piping for me and lip the edges of the piping so it doesnt ever pop off in future, then tune. wont be able to drive for a month tho; kneecap out 7am tomorrow. dang.
-
lol I'll hold your beer hahahaha me no kneel as from tomorrow 7am (13/9) wont have any kneecaps =( for me, the tune shop will be doing the work =( ................. next winter

thanks lads

OK so my heater core has gone walkabouts what model / part numbers need to be used to repalce it - ie what heater core from the 'skyline' family fits ? otherwise its around $500 to purchase the stagea item from japan.
-
talk to Pete aka 66SkylineGT about helping you install the unit

wont be dissapointed dude. Ive got a white pearl Series 1, love it to death, 2 kids as well.... being tuned as we speak, 200awkw I hope. on topic. Id suggest for someont to get moulds made up, start a small business, and take orders as they trickle in. only way about it I reckon.
-
dude, its a dolphin kit to the front end (without doubt) and side skirts, although the rear looks dayzish, lol. Id say originally it had the dayz kit in japan, hence the badge, but at some stage the owner "upgraded" the bodykit looks tough. nice pickup. SA hey ?

Ive never flipped the bird on the road, never shaken my fist, never yelled obcenities. Yelled (at myself) for getting behind a slow furker but thats as far as my road rage goes after 13+yrs of driving. What you should do is knock on his door, say you are his neighbour with the white van, explain that you were obviously pulling to the left for him to go around, but he never realized this, and apologize for the finger. Then ask about the mods to his car, how it goes and all that, and let him know about your beast of a 'Line. Plus definately mention to him tha slamming on the brakes was a particularly dangerous thing for him to do.......... extend hand for a handshake, then move on.

that, from Slide, was called a Stage3 max-oversize highflow good for 260rwkw whereas, again from Slide, a stnd oversize highflow was rated only 10psi less at 250rwkw (what I have) great turbo. pity he no longer does them water and oil cooled 360deg thrust bearing. a rare combo, and damed best price in sthn hemisphere

I went thru all of this 2yrs ago with my S1. got prices for moulds for the Dayz front bar, rear bar, side skirts and wing. did a lot of chasing around, got prices, were too expensive for peeps. waste of time IMO, wont get up off the ground. my opinion only tho
