  1. i remember reading in that little nissan service book you get (i cant find it now) a stock r33 gtst doesnt evan need a turbo timer @ 7psi unless your doing like 200km that drive. Im pretty sure it was something along those lines... Turbo timers arent cool anyways you get a bit sick of peoples "you left your car on you idiot" comments Was funny a friend of mine got an intercooler for his n/a supra... "it wasnt to look cool" aparantly.. it was to "weigh the front down"
  2. could be the thingy that spins (i forget the terms) in the turbo hitting the housing maybe ? Im just sorta guessing cause im bored, but maybe take off the intake pipe and see if you can move the 'thingy that spins' around.. I dont think its supposed to move around at all. Also I had a wierd metal noise once.... When I had my new exhaust put on they didnt hookup the turbo heatshield 100% so it was flapping around abit against other crap.
  3. Hi I think its 5 volts at 100% open. I've got a 96 r33 with a SAFC2 and It reports 0volts at 0% and 5volts at 100% open. The r33 service manual also used to talk about 4.8v or 5v i forget now...

  10. did you take out the stock pipe that goes to the wastegate (or something around that area..) it has a restrictor thingy in it. Its the pipe that connects to the big plastic intake pipe, and the other end connects to a T, and then goes off to the controller.. I kinda had the sam problem as you i think.. with my bleed valve, the boost wouldnt change whatever i did.. took out the pipe with the restrictor and off she went.
  11. I tee'd mine into the hose that goes to the stock boost gauge.. its a little black box near the firewall on the drivers side.
  12. I dunno, the ones i got were BNF24 It works well. I got them from autobarn in doncaster, melbourne for $175. got em like 5 months ago.
  13. ya the dude on ebay who sells them... not sure whats going on there.. basicaly EVERYONE complained about how slow/barely existent he is in all his sales. I paid for the exhaust, and I emailed and emailed and he never replied. then after a week i rang him up and he was pretty responsive. Came a week after he said it would.. but hey it came in the end The kit for the r33 etc comes with the front pipe thing that connects to the turbo, cat, another long pipe, muffler, a silencer, and all the bolts and crap. Mine doesnt have that overlapping with the turbo problem. I dont think theres much of a diff between $1000 full stainless style xforce kit, and a $2000 apexi/HKS one etc...
  14. hey i got the xforce turbobak full stainless steel exhaust kit for my r33 ($950 off ebay) Im very very happy with it. I didnt dyno it after we put it in but you could instatly tell a huge differance in power. It sounds great to, and its not evan that loud. looks pretty cool i guess. Apparantly xforce just make good copies of the bigname japanese brands. Id definetly get it again though, specialy for the price

  19. theres a few other cool programs to try as well besides data scan. conzult and calumsuit You can download em both off the net for free. If anyone gets a full version of conzult btw.. share her round its wierd my Throttle issue.. safc2 and a few other tools report 100% at 5volts.. but ALL the software programs for the cable are reporting 80% at 4.8volts.. By the way if anyone is looking for a coupla cables theres a dude on this forum who makes em for like $75 each or something like that.
  20. hey the cables fun for the $100 or so it all costs . Has a useful a/f meter which is pretty cool for doing alittle testing. The only problem I had though in my r33 was that with the datascan software (and others) the throttle at idle was reporting it open at 20%, and at full throttle it was reporting it was only 80% open. I think the software was programmed slightly differantly for r33's?? There cool though, has a nice 2 fast 2 furious feel about it oh ya make sure u got ur friend in the car watching the laptop while your driving
  21. before i had the safc2 installed in my r33 i had basicaly the same mods as you.. mine did about 170kw @8psi or so (b4 the safc).. This wasnt in shootout mode though and shootout mode gives you a slightly higher result than non-shootout mode i believe. so id say your result is about right, now hurry up and get the FC put in
  22. hey guys I've still got the original Kenwood sound system in my R33. Its all kenwood stuff and its got the head unit, some equalizer thingy under it, and a 10 cd stacker in the boot. The cds all work fine, and ive got a fm reciever plugged into the headset so I can listen to the radio. The problem is though I cant seem to get my 'backup' cds (cd's ive burnt myself) to run. A friend of mine gave me an old kodak gold cd that was recorded at 1x speed ages ago and I was able to play the burnt cd without problems. I tried making some cds at 1x and 4x with a variety of cd's (none of which were kodak gold) and none of them worked. Does anyone know what the special tricks are to getting burnt cd's to work in the old players ???? Any specific cd's i should use besides the kodak ones ? or any special burner settings ? thanks heaps

  24. I know what you mean leech hehe Your talking about the big black canistor on the drivers side. (circled in thepic???) Mine has it there as well if that isnt where its supposed to be.. ? To save your sanity.. slap the intercooler up, if its in the way just move it somewhere else its only got like 1 or 2 bolts holding it on. My intercooler has the intake/return pipes going in the same direction, so it isnt a problem for me.. but it does look like it would get in the way...hmm
  25. restless33, i think the adjustable bar from whiteline for the r33 is 'BNF24X'. I got the 'BNF24' which isnt adjustable for like $175. Should get some whiteline pineapples as well (KCA349).
