  1. stock boost cut ??? ive got a r33, normal basic mods.. does that mean when it has 12psi for e.g on the boost gauge its only running at 11 ???? Im using the stock ecu with safc2, dont tell me theres some stock boost cut and i should of got the powerfc pls??? thanks (uve got me worried now)
  2. I got a whiteline swaybar for my r33, it was like just under $200. I've got no clue about racing/suspension etc etc, but I think it made a differance to the handling, the car was more reponsive when turning, Kinda made it feel abit heavier and smoother. It felt safer and more comfortable going round the corners faster than before basicaly.
  3. I think theres something called the AAC valve ?? its near the TPS (I could never find it.. gave up looking seems I wasnt gonna play with it in the end). U can adjust it with a philips screwdriver to change the idle. If you search around for it there should be some pics of where it is exactly etc.
  4. the removable steering wheel trick sounds pretty good. Unless you BYO you cant realy drive away to far.
  5. I think if the cop was doing something wrong and you told him you where recording it, they'd probably get heaps angry and start beating you with the phonebook/stick.
  6. its a marketing tactic between nissan and apexi to get you to buy some sorta aftermarket computer device. I had the same problem as you, a powerfc or safc2 etc etc fixs that up nicely though
  7. how much is it generaly for this hi-flow mod ? where in melbourne is a good place to do it ? thanks ppls
  8. hi quick question.. what is a gcg high flow ??? I was always planning on getting a hks 2540 for my ol r33
  9. hey sorry to hear about what happened Did it happen in a residental street, or like a car park ?
  10. thanks heaps for that guys
  11. hey ppls I got a quick question is a 'Tomei camshaft' the same as a 'Tomei poncam camshaft' ?? and if not.. whats the differance ? the lift/duration seem the same etc. ? thank u
  12. if you managed to get 180kw out of your excel with the stock engine, you shouldnt have any trouble getting 180kw with a non-turbo skyline... just put your special capa supercharger/turbo in it seriously though, sell ya car and buy the turbo. Its gonna piss you off when you spend like $2-3k in mods and you still get beaten at the lights by a lancer
  13. your not talking about the capa supercharger kit are you.... ? that 140kw figure they have listed is pure jibberish as proven on many hyundai forums Chiptorque have a turbo kit for an excel running at 7psi it includes the intercooler etc etc. On there site it lists the kit as a 35kw improvement, bringing the grand total to 87kw.... ill shutup now though
  14. friend of mine used to run 6psi in his.. was about 110kw.... damn I guess he shoulda got the turbo you got ................
  15. 180kw woulda been at flywheel...u can only run about 6psi b4 she dies. i used to have an excel
  16. ok my old excel did 1/4mile in 15 seconds back to the topic tho.. they should just impound ya car for abit if your caught doing stupid stuff. Be nothing worse than having a licence but no car to drive as oposed to vice versa where you can drive around without a licence.. in theory.
  17. dont let P platers drive turbo etc cars
  18. my last car was an excel :~( I win
  19. hey ppls.. im bored and its saturday night so you all have to suffer my stupid questions.. would say a 'custom manifold' from ebay such as the one in the link below be relativly worth it for $400 ?? http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...4551296703&rd=1 or would any type of new manifold be worth it ??? Im bored and i only have a few $$ to spend ?? thanks
  20. hmmm the same thing happened to my car when I got a new clutch. (some xtreme clutch) It still happens come to think of it. Mainly in second gear. Not to often though. I think i've read a couple of people get that or something as well with there clutch. Have a read through this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=69220 The mechanic that did mine said "they do that", noone who i've taken it to after has been able to fix it so I just put it down to me driving to slowly in second gear I guess.. Lemi know what yours turns out to be though please
  21. driving to portsea is always good, long as you dont take the scenic route.
  22. hey Ya the solderied pipe and the one with the screw in it would of gone into the stock boost solenoid. Theres also a metal restrictor thingy in the pipe that comes out of the big black plastic intake pipe. Its the pipe that connects to the left of the 'T'. This wont let ya run the boost to high anyways. (took me 3 days to figure this out and get my boost controller to work grrrr ) Careful though, cause if you replace the piping without a controller or restrictor etc the turbo will run realy high, and then it wont run anymore
  23. hey ppls Just got a stupid question cause I know you all love it anyways ive got a fmic intercooler and it uses the stock pipes once it gets back inside the engine bay. (Both the input and output pipes point to the right on the intercooler.. as oposed to one going left.. one going right.. like most of em have it) anyways When I drive round for a bit the metal intercooler pipes which connect to the stock pipes are like realy realy cold which is good, but then once it gets to the pipes in the engine bay (the stock plastic pipes etc) it obviously gets realy realy hot. Should I replace the stock plastic pipes with some metal like pipes ? Im sure it wont be to expensive.. but is the few $$ / time and effort worth the gains in performance ?? Also what type of metal or woteva is good to use for this sorta piping ? Thanks heaps guys
  24. ya it is kind of sad when not only do I have to finance my new car, I have to finance my insurance to (grrr if only they would of let me )
