  3. if it only boosts to .9 with no lines on the gate then iether there is a blockage in the exhaust or there is a boost leak. i dont want to rule out the turbo yet. but as you said with the vac lines of does it leak out past the wastegate still?
  4. does it have a cat converter? if so remove it. or does it start glowing red just crusing.
  5. that doesnt sound like much fun. so assuming the waste gate is in tiptop shape, and the pressure line is on the bottom of the gate(is your boost controler on external or internal mode) what exhaust housing is on the turbo and what rpm does it come onto boost? by that i meen loaded up in third etc. and does it ramp up quickly. one way you can check the turbo is to remove the wastgate lines altogether but BE CAREFUL .... are all the cooler pipes intacted?(masive boost leak) blow of valves all ok(vac lines on) let us know so we can dig some more
  6. i just thought it throw my two cents in. i recently imported a 10/89 bnr32 from nagoya.japan myself. it had a combined kms reading of 152000ks on it (stock cluster and nismo 320 one). it was stock with an exhaust and suspension. and service histry from new to 2003. i was abit woried to begin with. but it is spot on. no rust or repairs etc. it doesnt use any oil and the box is good. i work in an import workshop and through my experiance 90% of modified ones that come in are rooted. unless they sold for 2 millon yen. a good stockish one will go for about 850-1.4mill. but the fifteen year rule is over. so my advice is go for a good clean stocker with stock air filter in place. at the end of the day you get what you pay for. everyone else out there is looking for exacly the same thing you are. good luck
  7. no sorry i wish.... we usaly use tillies one or use mat gilmer from magic for all that. i should mension that tillies dyno is one of the lowest reading ones out there(acurate) by about 10percent.

  9. the envy imports workshop does everything. the old car yard was a thirdparty group. sydney car sales. the deal was that they got a high commision on the cars sold on the lot. herman held the lease but scs used it. but they wernt good at selling them and the building got condemed the yard so to speek is out of the workshop by apointment. 15/26 wattle rd. im the mechanic there. so im always very busy. we have 40+ cars in stock at the moment. in terms of servicing we do quite alot but im always flatout complying cars so it gets abit dificult to do both at once. plus herman is rarely available to look after customers on the spot. im working on the orgonisation of the shop and customer service side of things. but afterall its just herman .myself and clair the secretaty. if you need to book a car in ask for dave. so i can arange the work accordinly if you get a quote for a job we will beat it 9 times out of 10. ps. we have alot of good secondhand tyres that are clogging up the workshop and would sell them cheap for cash etc 16.s 17.s 18.s cheeres

  12. hey hows it going. its dave from autobarn at chatswood. it good to see that my h3c to h3 conversion is still working(performed in the carpark). :uh-huh: yes the *blue vision* bulbs arnt exacly blue. in regard to the h3 hid kit are they 35watt or 50watt?

  19. the grinding noise that you can hear is gear rattle. or as subaru like to call it "garra-garra" noise. this happens when the harmonics of the engine cannot be absorbed by the new clutch/clutch plate. if its mass is changed or if larger cushioning springs are fitted(heavy duty) its totaly normal and not detrimental to the gearbox but sounds really bad. i got thes when i put a nismo twin plate in. hope that helps
  20. if its a turbo they do bolt up (100mm spacing) but i think you have to swap the struts left/right,for clearance on the steering knuckle.
  21. yes welcome to the craptastic stock r200lsd, openwheel city. aftermarket lsd centres are the best option but REALLY expencive, 1500plus. i rebuilt mine with nismo clutchplates and it locked up at the drop of a hat. it was really good. i recomend that you rebuild it with the nismo clutches.this basicly makes it a nismo one,ive seen both pulled apart and they are the same. il get back to you tomorrow with instructions for preload etc. its not hard at all. i have all the part numbers at work for them.6 in total.

  23. the larger the disc mass and pad area the better for repetability. its job is to absorb heat. spring rates on most jap coil overs are way to hard. 550lbs etc i ran 300 in the rear and 280 in the front and it was good. on jic 5 way adjustable. still no traction.:rb26 to4 440atw at 1.2bar:
