  1. have you tried adjusting the AAC valve?
  2. to true... anyone stupid enough to make the same mistake TWICE deseved to be kicked in the head (or license cancelled)
  3. fark i am surprised with the responses here my advice is: - forget about a loan for a car. you will be paying it off still when you're 30 - R33GTSt is illegal on your P's. that means if the cop has half a brain then you can be fined and lose your liscence on the spot for a period of time longer than one month (not sure how long it is) - insurance company will insure you but if you make a claim they can deny you the claim based on the fact that you are illegally driving the car! - so basically, i would keep the R31 and do it up a bit. get some driving experience (comes with time, not intellegence) and when you're 21 or so you can but an R33 or better outright and then you really will be laughing at 18 year old's that are talking about selling their souls for a car that is illegal for them! best of luck!
  4. head is meant to be coming off anyway (thus the reason for the thought) nd no a TT is not an option anyone else have any thoughts?
  5. so it was an NA then they did this to? what other mods did it have? i havn't heard of nissport are they anygood? what do you think of the price though?
  6. www.aus300zx.com there are 350z owners there... good luck and sweet-ass car! Waz.
  7. hmmm well oil flow is probably not going to be an issue like it would be for an intercooler so i would have thoguht anything that is big would work just as well an anything else? i bought a cheap-ass ($80) transmission cooler and it works a treat!
  8. g'day all, i thought i'd see what some of the knowledgable people on this forum thought of porting and polishing heads *looks at sydneykid* The reason for this is a mate of mine with an NA Z32 300zx is looking for a bit more guts out of his engine and came across the idea of getting this done. for the record his mods are: exhaust (headers + cat-back), filter, ecu re-tune. For the proting itself, what do people reccommend? ie changing valve sizes and complete job, or just a bit of a port? keep in mind this is regarding a non-turbo car... and what kind of power gains are to be expected on a car putting about 150rwkw at the moment? For the price one would pay is porting worth it? how much is a good price keeping in mind that its a V6 and there is 2 x heads... I think he had a quote of about 1200 but that included changing to bigger valves i think. when i heard this i thought a cheaper and also effective idea might be to shave the head for better compression? your thoughts? power increases? sorry for the abundance of questions but i'd love to hear a bit from everyone as this is something that not many consider (generally better mode for turbo cars bang-for-your-buck wise) and i know its a more intricate process on NA cars... i also read page 76 in HIP #37 which as porting an SR20DE and that was heaps of help. cheers, Waz.
  9. no probs... take a look at the setup on the stock rb20/rb25 and that may give you some clues a good trick if its an (illegal) atmospheric-venting bov is to mount it on an intercooler pipe that runs under the front bumper. this makes it almost impossible to see without removing the bumper for that "what bov, officer??" kind of setup!
  10. haha they ALL wanna be skylines...
  11. it makes sense to put it close to the throttle body, reducing the length of the hose and reducing the time the air has to travel but it can be put anywhere after the turbo in theory so good luck!

    fire!

i was at a 21st last night at a pub on dandenong road near caulfield... all of a sudden everyone runs over to the window and there in the intersection is what looks like a mildly modified saab. what was odd was that the engine burst into flames! not just a small fire either... bits of the front bar, bonnet and engine were falling off and the smoke was unbelievable! there was only 1 guy in the car and i felt so sorry for him. if it were me i would still be on the road crying did anyone see it?? - happened about 11pm good to see the MFB were there in less than 5 mins before the fuel lines transported the flame to the pertol tank! they were soon followed by 2 cop cars and 2 ambulances but these were pointless oh and tomorrow i'm off to buy a fire extiunguisher from supercheap - $25 well spent now me thinks... Waz.
  18. factory originals (same as pic in first post)
  19. ok the previous posts have been pretty sketchy so here's a (hopefully better) review of what i did: 1) remove front bar: this requires the removal of the indicators and about 8 screws around the place. comes off easily and takes 10min MAX 2) remove guard behind intercooler. again not many screws but beware of dirt lodged that falls when this is removed as it can get in your eyes 3) you can now see the intercooler quite easily. there are a couple of screws in brackets on either side from memory. unscrew the screws and it should be movable now 4) loosten the clamps holding the hoses to and from the intercooler. It is going to be a BITCH to get the cooler hoses off the end tanks but keep pulling and eventually they will come out. 5) while its out give it a clean inside and out hope that helps a bit more! cheers, Waz.
  20. glad to help i got my sideskirts there and was shocked at the size of the spare parts area he had! so many parts!
  21. haha its decieving isn't it? fast but is it worth it for a lack of reliability...? have you been to aus300zx.com yet?
