my understanding of engine load is that it is greatest at low rpm in high gears this means consistent taking off in second gear will put a huge amount of stress/load on the transmission / engine leading to premature drivetrain wear its up to you but when you think about it, if it was the best and easiest way to do things then it wouldn't be a special button, it would just be the way it was made in the first place. and this is not the case.

G37 = V36 the USA calls it a 37 because the engine is 3.7L, and the G35 because the engine was 3.5L Japan calls it a 36 because 36 is the next number in the line of R32, R33, R34, V35, V36

nice work max, glad to hear it survived and went well just on the suspension issue, i just had my swaybars installed (i purchased some Selby sways form SydneyKid @ Superior Suspension) and they have made a HUGE difference to how the car handles. extremely highly recommended..

i like road rage, i don't see the problem? ...of course i would never get out of the car and do anything about it but yelling from my car is part of my personality and it makes me happy...

i have spoken to depulu in regards to the OEM V35 18" rim getting refurbished.. (i also have terrible gutter rash on mine) as rianto said earlier, they are expensive to repair given they are finished in a "shadow chrome" colour and this is a difficult process to get right apparently i was quoted 250 per wheel

the reason clarkson will say its uncool is because he will say that you have to explain it to people eg "why does it look so ugly?" "well that's because it was aerodynamically designed in a windtunnel" "oh, right" thus, uncool obviously i think its cool otherwise i wouldn't be in here

i think clarkson will maek it uncool based on its looks.. he realyl only needs 1 thing he doesn't like to drop it down to uncool

i have spoken to someone who has driven the 300GT and driven my car (350GT) and he said that the 300GT feels a LOT more slower than it seems on paper the 350GT is rated at 206kw while the 30GT is 171kw from memory i have also read that the 206kw in the 350GT is more like 222kw but given the gentleman's agreement it stays at 206kw

ok the long and the short of it (this is based on what i know only) the short - you don't really have a choice between 5sp auto and CVT, that is determined by what car you get the long - early model V35 sedans have only manual or CVT, no regular 5sp that i'm aware of. this means that if you wnt a series 1 sedan (2001 to 2004) then you must get CVT. if you want a series 2 car (late 2004 onwards) then you only get 5sp auto and of course if you want a coupe then 5sp auto was the ONLY choice again so choose what year you want and the rest will be determined by that what to look out for? do a search i have written this many times in other threads, essentially look for the car with the MOST features you can get, make sure it has leather/suede, bose upgrade, steering wheel buttons, auto-off headlights, dual climate control, TV/nav, etc

best call ever. this is too true, and in terms of hte V35, there is a HUGE difference between the options you can get and the condition of the cars. by getting a godo condition car with all the options you are just making it that much easier to sell the car in a few years time when there are hundreds on the market and yours stands out like dogs balls as being the best example

in theory - good in reality? they've done a rough job of chopping the roof and what a way to massacre the car! would have been easier to get a 350z roadster and put a G35/V35 bodykit on it..
