any other opinions about the effectiveness of these wastegates?
-
Just looking at upgrading my wastegate at the moment and there is a really good price for sale on an overseas site. At present ive got a 38mm which isnt doing the business and am thinking of upgrading to a 44mm tial with the V band setup. Has anyone used it and what are the pro's and con's of doing so. There doesnt seem to be much info around Cheers

in all honesty people here are going on about resale but why?????? does anyone modify a car for its resale value? if you modify a car you never recouperate your money anyway. personally i think its a great idea. who cares what engine was originally in it, provided your making an improvement -
why have they bothered to send a car all that way for a start (wouldnt it be easier to buy one in oz and ship there) and why an r33 as we know the 32 has a weight advantage you plan on putting out more hp than heat treatments huh? look forward to seeing the competition. glenn suckling here is rumoured to have around 1200ish and runs 8.0's

yeah just get a piece of steel and drill holes in it and bolt it to the cross member give it a coat of paint and no one will be able to tell
-
yeah 150 if you look hard enough before the drift thing came in people couldnt give them away. i got a warranted registered cefiro with 160kms on the clock for 1k NZD

the ultimate would be a 2jz with a 1jz head

Benefits Of Greddy/nismo/custom Intake Manifold?

How do you know it makes more power? Have you seen Dyno plots or just presumed it does? Id personally go for something thats known to work rather than something custom you know little about. -

There is a 33GTST FCon on NZ's trademe (liek ebay) with a small reserve (i think around 500) if anyone wants one ill buy it and then they can send me the money and ill ship it over. Likewise a r33 power fc for 1100. Sorry if my last post come along a little strong, it annoys me when people comment on something they have no knowledge of as it simply ruins the purpose a forum. I come here to troll information and share experiences and a "links crap" comment really doesnt help anyone. Im a through and through power fc fan however looking at the prices of a link and the specs its simply hard to ignore. Most of us arent tuners so the hand controller has little meaning and if we wanted to look at engine specs with a link i can plug in my laptop and use their free software (no datalogit here) I use to be a huge Link critic as their last models were pretty average however my tuner has one on a supra putting out 600odd rwkws and the computer made 75kws more than on the Power Fc with the same mods and tuner. The link as below as the G2 LinkPlus which is the flagship model and below is the G3 http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-man...e-In/LinkPlusG2 http://www.linkecu.com/products/engine-man...g3-whatdoesitdo Here is also a link to the free software http://www.linkecu.com/products/TuningTool...nkFullScreenPic I must admit the one thing i find frustrating about these forums in particular is the Power FC debate. If someone took the time to go and look at the specs vs price im sure many more people would change their tune!(bad pun)

i dont know ebay but is it not an idea to start up a bogus account and ruin a few auctions here and there
-
Im a huge power fc fan but i think on this forum in particular they are a bit over rated. I have one in another car and think its great however. Im going for a LINK G3 with R33 adaptor loom and wasted spark setup. The downside is they only run 4 coil drivers so unless you want to wasted spark your coils you need to run a wasted spark setup. The stock coils suck anyway so replacing them never hurts. You get lower temps, better life, and more spark so win win!! 1269 AUD including a loom adaptor. Add in a wasted spark setup (if you want to) for 200 and you have an incredibly good computer for 1469. More mapping points, dual fuel and ignition maps. Take into account the fact you also dont need an AFM and its a great deal. www.linkecu.com

if anyones got a set of these and is prepared to send to nz id be very interested ive got a q45 (which is worth more in aussie apparently) id be happy to swap these for -
Hey there, Im selling a Q45 AFM and plug i brought late last year. Im not going to be able to run it due to a complete change in head which means im not going to be able to use an afm'd computer like i planned. Ive never run this however it came off a vehicle which had done 80 kms from memory and its in good condition. ********* I am in New Zealand however. If you would care to check i can provide references in Australia (North Queensland ANZ Bank Regional CEO) so those wanting to purchase can be rest assured their money isnt going to go amiss. Im after around 180 AUD + Shipping Thanks Byron

dont the rx7 owners upgrade with Bosch HEC 715 coils? im also quite interested to see how the mitsi ones go? my tuner has said to get some evo 1/3 coilpacks however they are 200 brand new and i dont know if im that keen to fork out 400 and im still going to need leads and the ignitor
-
cheers mate, thats good info so your using the evo coils then? what did you pay for them out of interest?
