  1. if you guys are really desperate for bits let me know as here in nz cefiros arent worth anything and we basically just throw most of the parts out ive seen extentions like that selling with bumpers for a box of beers kind of thing
  2. yes you can. get copies of the pin outs and you will see there are about 4 differences
  3. why are you using those pistons and are you aware of their different pin heights?
  4. seems like its a common nissan problem as my s14 k's crunches 4th also at the drags and the box wasnt rebuild too long ago
  5. change the fluid to some redline stuff as ive heard it works well gearbox's should be able to change from 2nd to 1st even moving, saying otherwise is rediculous. my rb and sr boxes both do. its a worn syncro so try the fluid trick then otherwise you may have to rebuild it
  6. everything should bolt up mint, if not youll have the mounts from the 32 and they will be able to be swapped if that fails buy a cefiro or laurel chassis and mount everything into that
  7. the rb30e sump is slightly deeper than the rb20e sump. my engine went into a cefiro and we needed the space as the 30 sump would have hit the crossmember my brother overfilled the engine and i can report than an rb30 can hold more than 10 litres :-)
  8. not wanting to start a new thread for nothing but can anyone confirm this clutch http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=83361335
  9. just for information im running an rb20e sump on my rb30e and it cleared fine with no problems fin wise. am also interested in hearing that its a bit out timing wise with that belt. so cubes guide has a differently positioned tensioner and this one uses the same tensioner however the cams are out of alignment???
  10. the guide is still superb even when ive been reading this thread for over a year the r33 series 2 boxes are also a push clutch. a guy i know who works at a nissan wrecker has confirmed
  11. i have a profec b spec 1 boost curve is so flat i couldnt almost rule a link across it have brought another
  12. Just interested to see whether anyone has heard of a TJ Clutch as there is one for sale here in NZ. Triple plate and supposidly rated to 1100ps Have tried searching but havent found anything Cheers
  13. im interested to know how much im going to need to cut off my driveshaft to suit the cefiro eg when telling the driveshaft guy how much should i tell him to cut off?
  14. have read that the internals are slightly different and therefore they are weaker you can tell the turbo one by more ribbing on the box and also a red breather hose
  15. Please am in nz anyways so cant do anything untoward with it, PM me if that suits better
  16. Hey there, I have a r33gtst box with broken input shaft housing and are contemplating converting it to pull clutch as i can get a cheap twin plate pull clutch. Ive read a similar thread but re a gtr where a poster said "yes you can. If you dont want to change to a pull type clutch just redrill the holes for the slave cylinder and tap them and the slave will bolt straight on. There are 2 spots on the R33 box for the new holes. Then swap the front end of your box onto the R33 box and use the old push clutch fork and bearing. Its a very simple job. When swapping the front of your box over be sure to use some grey sealer on the bottom bolts as they help seal thhe box from the bell housing" From what ive been told you need to change some bearings etc. Can anyone elaborate>? Thanks Byron
  17. Hey just looking for the chassis number of an r33 gtst series 2. Im after a input shaft housing and Nissan need the chassis number of this car. Ive got the gearbox and its going into an a31 cefiro so i really dont have a chassis number. Any help would be great Thanks
  18. a bit off topic here but guilt toy what are those pistons made for? and the eagle rods also??? havent seen either used before on a 30
  19. the internet mechanics talk i did it to my cefiro and it worked really well
  20. So if i can find someone with a toast gtr box or similar i need to get the clutch throw out bearing support. Is this a big thing really to get?
  21. anyone mind scanning up the hpi article. i for one cant get hpi where i live
  22. yeah tilting the engine down makes a huge different in respect to clearance.
  23. the car plowed into a concrete bridge. suprisingly no one was killed but really they should have been the engine is completely munched and very few parts off that are salvagable and the floor plan is smashed to bits. the rear end is still fine and the turbo is really the only salvagable bit off the engine. for the price i paid i thought it was worth the risk hers a pic of the input shaft. im not a mechanic (very far from it) so dont really know what im looking for but hopefully someone more in the know can elaborate.
  24. here is a pic of my newly aquired gearbox 120 NZD including slave cylinder hopefully everything should be mint once its checked the car was in an accident where the occupants really shouldnt have survived (but did) so the engine was mashed. i dont expect it to be in perfect nick however it sure beats paying 1800+ for a new one
  25. hey cubes, have you got a pic of what the resistors look like without the cover on top of it? i brought a resistor packing thinking it had covered and when it turned up i was missing them, so i want to confirm whats happening
