if it worries you get odd headed bolts for them. makes it a lot harder to get them off.

get the lot, screen,buttons,box,panel. its ALL different and won't boot off the jap unit. further to the point you will have to hack the video cameras BACK into the system. hex edit you can do. I never got that far. as it was people would ask for the world and expect it to be served on a platter fro free. not my thing. the russian fellow worked for oracle at one point and could quite easily do it. not sure if he still is actually. take a bit of initiative and crack it yourself and make a buck or two

the in cabin sensor is disconnected. drop the lower panel under the wheel and on the left corner there is a black tube. there should me a 2 pic plug that is hanging there. plug it into the thing at the end of th tube.

in QLD they stick you back on your Ps for a year after you get it back. so 4 pts no alcohol as a starter. trust me I know it well.. if you are a kid then you will lose it again. me I was a bit of a twit for the second one as I forgot to renew mine. take the suspension learn from it , get so exercise and get in shape. you may look at it as 3 months without a car - I looked at mine as a walk to work every morning and a way to shed a bit of weight NOW if you have not learned your lesson after that then they get a bit more unfriendly and threaten to lock you up. moral - there is a time and place for being a twit - pick them accordingly and FYI industrial estates are not one of them. I have been told twice to be a good boy - one for 6 months the other for 1 month. I stick within the limits now and I have little issue.

I am going to look at a maxima and a Z32. only issue that I have is the HICAS ring on the stock wheel. maxima does not have that ring and the jap Z does. rewrapping a Z wheel can be done for a fee and that should give me the buttons and hicas ring. both cars are side by side in the yard I frequent so I will have a look today with my wheel in hand.

might have something to do with the price of cars in japan currently as ell. when you are paying 1.8-2mill for a R34 few people out here are going to rush to buy them

as for getting an USDM image. ebay and LKQ are your friends. waste some money with them.

same idea. though there are two identical plugs on that unit. make sure you grab the right one.

and for the top spec version NONE of them will work.. find me somewhere to host a 30GB image and I'll hand you a jap one. the addressing on the USDM one will be different as it is a different box with different video intefaceing and no TV option. since you have a Jap car there pull the dash down rip the drive out , unlock it and play. then work out a way to yank the firmware image out of it and decode it. the image will be written for a hitachi SH4. if I had the schematics for both units I would be memory mapping them and writing code to suit. ( I can do hardware I totally suck at software.) my 2c.

hope you have not wiped the radio out.. that is a very expensive trip to me if you have.
