  1. in my eye: minimal bog.
  2. ok I stand corrected. I thought I saw a badge under his name. (handbrake)
  3. mark hansen
  4. looks like its about to make landfall. dunk island looks like its copping a hammering.
  5. two. one red one one gunmetal one.
  6. lay the carpet back - look there. if the sills are grazed they will be wet = rust. look at my GTS4 thread (see sig) fr more images on what to look for.
  7. bear in mind things like struts won't go air mail. I do a fair bit of business with two US companies and have no issue with shipping. as for costs $200 is about right, my average big box is $300 or so.
  8. in short I can do both versions. I can do the non navi version a LOT neater as I do not have to frig around with the bose gear. if I was doing one I would fix the radio with a local one and use the USDM button set as a starter. from there punch in : NAVI (garmin) and route the audio to the drivers door. video to the OEM screen - controls via remote - no touch screen on the non navi. CAMERA - REAR CAMERA - FRONT SIDE CAMERA, IF someone was game to let me buy the side camera mirrors and this would all work on the factory screen non navi is a lot easier to ID. 6 buttons on the dash screen instead of 12. different screen. as for costs $POA. I never have been one to discuss costs on these things publicly - too many people whinge and bitch about it
  9. I also have in my possesion a IPOD kit that I will try in the morning on the JAP radio I have.
  10. OK PARTS SWAPPING TIME: USDM DISPLAY NON NAVI BUTTON SET: 28395-JK60B USDM 6CD RADIO/6CD UNIT 25915-JK64A AUDM 370Z 6CD UNIT - NON NAVIGATION 25915-JJ55B ----------------- Only part number I CANNOT find is the USDM (or canadian) main G37 control panel. this looks like it is is going to be a hybrid setup using the JDM front and the USDM rear boards. the rest marries up with out a hassle. I'll have prices on the buttons and local radio over the next few days.
  11. on further inspection : IPOD - *MAY* be possible on the non navi car. I'll know in the morning once I get a unit in my hand. I know the US spec one got SAT radio and I have a feeling this one *MAY* have the firmware for it.
  12. look at the sill panels. are they straight? if not there WILL be rust in the carpet side of them.
  13. do you have acess to a scan tool? wouldnt hurt to put it on a live scan and see what is/is not working.
  14. 1. motor bad 2. no idea 3. stalk.
  15. so is everyone going to bitch about this and nothing happen OR are we going to actually try to get along without politics getting in the way, work together and make this a decent event or is it simply going to fall in a heap because of a naming issue. to me I would be putting differences aside then work out a plan for CSA and SAU to join forces and get this going. two heads are better than one I'm aware that a lot of behind the scenes things are happening to make this event happen and if I'm going to drive 4000 km (qld is 2000km down for those doing the math ) I would want to see a decent event happen. if you want to get petty on names toss my shop name into google. there is a US version of it that does exactly what I do. do I care - nup!
  16. for me non navi is easier to work with. less dicking around. as for functionality on a non navi car - navi, camera for a start. I'm still fiddling with this one. yet to fully strip a navi one. seems people like to keep those stock. if there is one out there - toss it my way.
  17. already looked at the BBS idea. the local wheel guy I use never came back to me. do agree that it looks good though. think I have photos of that car somewhere (took a lot of pics at CJJS last year - *think* this one one of them.)
  18. firmware would stop it. already been down this path with 3 toyota units. it will load it speak in english but not load the maps or anything else. the only reason I mentioned the non navi car is that it uses a jap variant of the 370z item and whilst looking at the USDM and local 370 z manuals its the same unit electrically. the navi version of the V36 is ENTIRELY different.
  19. I spoke to my panel guy, he's going to get me a few sticks. for the most part it is simply to reseal that cowl panel when I remove it. whzzin, its going to take me a while to do mine. most of the body has to come apart in places. decided to fix the front guards as well. since someone got carried away with the front passenger steel guard I'm going to replace is. I have the part number for it and it is available ex japan according to my sources. if you need a part number shoot me an email.
  20. OK: this is a NON NAVI car I am working on. now the unit that is in it IS IDENTICAL to the local 370Z unit. plugs, wiring, screen - everything! for those that want a easy way out of the radio and lack of navi issues - 370Z/G37 panel IS THE WAY TO DO IT!
  21. yep that can be done. buy the garmin unit and from there do one of two things. replace the screen with a 7" motorised drop in. (I have a few of these) then punch that navi through it and route the audio via the drivers door. the screens I use are a 3 input item and you can punch a camera into them as well. OR hack the stock system. its easier to start fresh with the stock system removed and the correct ac controller in place..
  22. if you go look at it take a screwdriver with you and check the inside of the sillsbehind the carpet. if it has had the full resto then those should not have any rust in them. seats do not belong to that car. the label on the side is an airbag label so the are out of somethe later. I would ask for every receipt available. I can tell you now that if it was done right he will produce a BIG pile of receipts totally at least $20k. also take a fridge magnet so you can look for bog.
  23. bundy, like the idea. only reason I'm reworking teh xanavi one is that it is a DIN unit. ( I cannot find a image of it..)
