  1. yep. same as I'm doing by capturing commands on a storage scope and deciphering them.
  2. complaince of a car can't be shoehorned to a fixed cost. there are people in this game doing Z11s for $1600 and you wonder what has actualy been done. cats weren't tyres- probably not. oil changed - nup. filters - nup. now to do it properly and take into acoount the labour portion of things that car would clear $12-1300 in parts and 10-12 hrs labour (@$110/hr) to clear/cert it. that would be a close figure for a GOOD car. the worst case woiuld be doing everything needed and the parts/labour cost go up further. (more wrong with it more time to fix it.) as for the cost of parts. ask the dealerships. on a parallel vein I bring in a LOT of jdm only bits and those are not cheap to land. now you margin those to cover your own costs and you get a final fee. for that $2000 set of cats $1-150 of that would be a margin. most of the RAWS I know use genuine parts (and I think its a requirement they do this.) and as such those are not cheap. V series skylines - cats (2 of them) $1600 approx (my numbers may be out a notch but for arguments sake..) then you have the compliance kit, then full service. $3k would be a LOW starting figure to do this car. personally I would pay the money knowing that the car was done properly and it was safe for me to bolt my 2 y/olds kidseat into and it not come out in an accident. yes I have seen those done poorly as well. so where to now: why does every one lowball - hell if 90% of the people stopped this shit and stopped taking kickbacks (locally and ex japan) I think this industry may have a chance in surviving. that said human nature does have a tendency to f**k shit up based on price....
  3. gene, I'll have a look. not sure yours is totally stock though.
  4. parts are a breaking point on RAWS. think about it for a sec. if I had a Z11 Cube and wanted on the road cheaply would I pay for a set of cats ($2k new) or would I borrow a set clear the car then put the old one back on. same goes with tyres. I have a car here that went through a few weeks back and the tyres by rights should have been changed. they are marked 2007. I had an instance with a chev blazer about 2-3 months back that had airbag issues. new module was $1k and the thing also needed brakes, suspension and a host of other things before it would clear the RAW. not sure what happened to it but I do believe it went somewhere else to be done because the RAW in question could not do the car for that price. adding further to it are these guys that cut teh crap out of it and in teh end whilst they gain market share for 2-3 months it screws things for everyone else. put simply there are those that give a shit and wont process a vehicle unless its done properly and those that do not care and are out to make a quick $. my 2c from what I see here in brissy.
  5. send me an email
  6. I'll wait for his reply. if its all here send me your details and I'll send you an invoice for it.
  7. red door lights are not meant to work. the ones in the lower forward part of the door are.
  8. got a mate of mine on it. says he has all of it on hand.
  9. was about to say the same thing. mate of mine feeds parts to them.
  10. R33 has an amplifier on the passener guard. V35 is data driven. bit of a difference. only thing to do is try another stalk on it. how/when did it start doing it?
  11. trackworthy = remove the thing. you have a 25 GT so less weight is a good idea is it not. the straps will at least hold the thing in place when you decide to be a goose and hook around corners too fast.
  12. the stock system in those is no differnt to any other local nissan. that said if the clifford is a G5 and does remote start then you may have issues. I would find a clifford dealer there and talk to them as well. if you cannot find one call me and I'll give you a phone number to call. as for bypassing it . the NATS system - not easily. the clifford - possible but I would have to be in front of it to do such. usually those are fitted properly. the last R34 Ztune I worked on it was buried in the car and DAMN hard to find. took me 10 minutes (most take 30 secs.) to find it. yours is probably similar. NOW if it has a RF activated immobilisation point then you really need to find a dealer. upset that and what ever it cuts will remain cut. hope that helps some what.
  13. set of $25 roc straps will sort it. no custom work needed.
  14. hardware worked out - M35 stagea lines up for further testing.(protocol/command copying.) having a decent DSO helps.
  15. I can get teh keys ex japan for a decent amount less. I have the part number for it - (when I get a bit of spare time I'll pop the prices up.)
  16. motor time you lot.. no short cut about it. OGZ, what were you playing with to kill a fuse. there is a VERY good chance you have nailed the BCM in yours.
  17. aftermarket should be easy. no NATS to worry about. that said if you do not have the key codes get tehm.
  18. leon they are sold here. shop near me does sell them. DEI bring them in and offer to specific dealers.
  19. bt with an Iphone works fine. done several in that fashion. hands free setup decent. it will mute the radio let the call come through and then revert to radio. you can also dial directly off the unit as well. only catch with turbosuk's car was the bose audio and the added DVD unit that needed to be fed back into the system. if you were going to do video from an iphone it could be done with fiddling. audio/video via a lead and BT control for the music side of things. new blau works fairly well. been a blau dealer for years and the only bad ones were the outsourced low end units. top end worked (5/7 series) flawless. if the only thing that shits you about the stock setup is the lack of ipod there is a way around it.
  20. found that one already. quite handy. rianto, the idea is to use as much of it as I can. the soft buttons and the joystick. no volume. I'm mapping the buttons basically and turning that into an IR command.
  21. ok spent a bit of time last night on this. looks like an AVR and a transciever is in order and a bit of coding.
  22. find one that does the job properly - after all its your safety you have to deal with.
  23. I'm going to look at trapping IR signals. I'll keep it at that.
  24. as it is you can select source off the wheel anyway.
