A note to those that had their cars done in sydney by nagoya motors (or by revolution electronics) and had a local DVD video player fitted. if you CANNOT find your DVD ROM ANYWHERE in the car there is a VERY good chance it has been stripped to a bare board and shoved under the stock spot and between the glovebox. IF YOU WISH TO UPDATE YOUR LANGUAGE SOFTWARE YOU CANNOT DO IT !!!!!! 90% of the OEM unit is MISSING! so you guys are stuck UNLESS you replace it with a used item. I have a car here now from NSW with this EXACT issue. I am going to try other means of updating this one but I see it as a no go. the progam needs to reside in two spots : ON the DVD reader board and also on the main board. swapping bits into the system from another stripped unit will result in a unit that will reboot every 5 minutes and ask for the jap language disc. just a word of warning..

looks like they changed the design slightly. black wire - put that under a screw red wire - lt grn on wht plug (this is in the corner of the plug with two yellow wires.) plug the rest in. this is an auto reset one so when you turn the key off it turns off..

define wreck? frontal? whole car with dead engine or electrical issues? side hit? rear hit?

no need. there is a line in on the rear of these decks (PN2413/2414) anyway. that is a common mod in the USA though wiht the later 350Z MP3 decks.

true on NEW units. these things are at least 6 yrs old (they swapped the decks in 2004 and again in 2005.) before you get them. given most of these are 2001-2003 versions they are well and truly on the way out. the laser alone is not meant to live past 5 yrs. they are FULL of flaws. there are design flaws in the PSU section for one. I dare say thats why nissan changed them late 2003 and again in nov 04. 3 units and 3 different mechs. the middle unit runs the same mech as a PN2541 (350Z radio) and that one suffers flaws as well. (electrical- they changed the design a LOT in those so they do not self destruct.) the 3rd revison they appeared to fix the electrical issue in them and a minor mechanical change from what I can see. correct. though the shifter is a matter of prefernce.

panel and AC controller are the go to do it correctly. the A/C side of things is PART of the radio panel and as such it's not a moddable (new word -yay!) item. I can take photos (and have done so in the past.) but the question will still come up and I'l still answer it the same way as for the parking issue - nup! these things spit gears due to age and heat. common ones are on the laser drive and as such it causes a chain reactiion taking everything in the direct path with it. doing it cheaply, $320 + frieght will net the IPOD lead from me and you can tear the dash down in 20 or so minutes plug it in and you are done. if you have the controls on the wheel then the ipod will drive from there as well. your call.

fair enough. strut clearances are the big issue here.

think you need to take a tape measure to the car first. the one sitting here has 5.5 on it and there is one with 6" width and that is tight up front. you are talking about doing 8" - I do not see that fitting myself. kristian, fire an email across (re: call.) he has a number for you.

can't answer your questions on a IP - I do not own one. (mine is a BB Storm and it WILL do it.)

thing is they didnt make them in red. burn orange - yep! had a burnt orange one and several others. most boring one is beige and they are CHEAP!

chassis is the k12 btw.

shan, I have fast for this car and the fellow I share this building with runs cube cars. he knows a LOT about them. drop by if you want to look/chat.

dave, same motor would look at the room (lack thereof.) you have though.

brady's body works boundary road archerfield. he's built two bonnets for me now and I still cannot find the seams on them. does a lot of top shelf cars as well. he's NOT cheap though. the bonnet build was $1200 each time.

yep thats it.

on the BCM there are two wires. heavy purple and heavy yellow. clip the yellow and tie teh harness side of it to the purple wire. tape off the plug side of the yellow wire. job done 2/4 doors with the lock switch.

yep the manual is on the net for it. should also find a link for a trash can as well. thats where the thing belongs.

normal. there is a 5 minute mod for it though

nats 5 does a basic job- makes no noise. doesn't stop me from keying the car or removing the wheels though.
