Not doing V36.. Car is too different to the USDM car. If someone can go without their car for a few weeks then I may consider it but very few of you are going to part with your cars for that amount of time let alone $2k+ for me to do my job.(most of you think I work for nix - I don't.) At least with V35 I can mock the system up and break into it easily. V36 is not that easy unless its a NON NAV car. Then I have that one done completely. Touch screen and all. A note to the guys in melb looking at V36s and then wasting 30 minutes of my day dreaming about your next car... The info is here. If you read it THERE WILL BE NO NEED TO CALL ME! You know who you are- stop calling looking for English conversions that do not exist.

Ordered more trim today. The trim around the door windows and the rubber around the doors . Should be here in a couple of weeks.

anyone have an exact translation of the G sensor pinouts. I have the HK PDF but the pinuts for brown 25.26.28.29.38.39.40.44 are VERY vague as to function.

most of these cars had an accessory 4 pin socket on the radio plug. use that.

got this one on the bench and went looking. looks like I lost the tach in my car. its auto and no biggie. progess shots: (reverse engineering the switches and video display at that point.)

Not quite. I have a full sharp mfd unit in my possession. I am going to yank the video portion off the sharp screen and adapt it to another screen. Still working out how the video generation is done at this point in time. Looks like the screen board does the video conversion and that is dropped to a second board on the LCD panel itself. I will have the scop out tomorrow and start deriving signals. It looks like the sharp LCD panel takes raw video and 'RGBS' and processes it at the LCD panel. Will know more tomorrow.

yep. even though I started this thing in 2010 it still has lots or parts available - at a cost of course.

they are a -neg out of the alarm. use a realy and wire accordingly and you are done. fit what ever siren you want then OR set teh thing to pulsed mode and tie it to your OEM horn. disable the chirps though. siren as supplied was a battery back up item. low end stuff but better than nothing.

so... I have a R31 and I am about to go full custom with one of these. question as well. I see a tach input on this - can I get a TACH gauge up on this unit at all? I have pulled the tach out of my dash to put this display in place. (and 2yr thread bump ~ !~)

those are a fixed volume. 120 db from memory. use a relay and a louder siren and you are right.

let me get my project underway and you may not need a sharp screen

I f I have my way then the screens for these will be universal shortly. I am modding one for another application and using an ENTIRELY different screen to do so.

just putting this out there: I have access to a GVN54 garmin GPS and protocols to make it do what ever and work on what ever I want it to. those that had the GVN53 setup that I did years ago - think that idea but integrated into the OEM controls. years ago I mapped the associated buttons on both the early and later cars. I know where things are on the system and with some dicking around I can put those buttons and the joystick to use. question for you lot - are you interested and at what cost?
