  1. buy a jap radio. you can go from jap (76mhz-90mhz) to local (88mhz-107.9mhz) but not the other way. if you have a good tech there they are doing a downshift . so its taking the RF signal in and mixing it with a 16mhz LO to bring it down. the reverse can be done if you can do the math.. (easier to buy a jap radio )
  2. yep the one that sits on the seat back. copy it. leave the steel in place. there are two access holes on the sides around the strut towers that you can send the cabling through. trying to chase the car I did down so I cna get a snap of it.
  3. take the plastic cover out and copy it onto a bit of 12mm MDF. get the carpet to suit your car and you are done. I'll see if I can grab the car I did a few weeks back.
  4. bit more. $800 would be close. takes 1-2 hrs to do th config.
  5. yep CATE. cool module and its LOCKED to your phone via password. has 4 outputs that can be configured to do what ever you like.
  6. nah thats not rear spks ( they are are grey leads and there are two of them.) looks like a dealer add on. trace it back through you will either find the box it attached to (tucked behind a panel) or the other end
  7. got a model # I can work from. also what do you wish to spend on it exactly?
  8. it was 90 or 180 sec from memory. I'll have a dig. I may have it in PDF form. got an email addy?
  9. do you have the remote for that its the dealer fitted keyless entry system. I pull out 1-2 a month usually.. just unpick where the cable clamps are tied in and retape the wires. if you are in brissy I'll take it off your hands ( I use the buzzer for a lights on buzzer.) also redesign your panel to mimic the old one. if you look closely you will see a 90 deg raise on the edge of it. that is the front of the door pocket. you need this otherwise every thing you put in it will end up in front of the speaker..
  10. nope it was a car audio shop here in brissy. I wont name it as I got into a sh1tfight over this the last time I pointed out sh1t work from another shop here in brissy. I'll pop up my hall of shame over the new week or so- that has a few interesting ones- all shops ,some with commentary.
  11. my bad I was a decimal point out. but yes at idle with nothing on it should be less than 50mA. I would pull the fuses on the radio and put a new battery in it and watch it. think you will find that the radio has a short in it. nothing really to do with how it was wired. if you have a meter with current capability use it and pull fuses until the draw goes away.
  12. both sides of th dash. the above post is why I do not sell them.
  13. you mean glass break. AU is one I do not do. GB and shock are usually enough for me.
  14. VERY excessive. sounds like there is a short in the output stage of it. at idle you should see 0.005A (50mA) with everything closed. 100mA is enough to flatten a battery overnight.
  15. thats the same with the QT system. however if YOU put it underground and it left without you then it s not a lot of good.
  16. correct. though that is the downfall on most of these. get it underground far enough and it cannot respond. that siad if its on telecom they tend to work in buildings anyway due to the mini cells they use.
  17. other than the rhino ram they are separate modules. last one I did PROPERLY was $1500. QT would be a better option as they can shut the car down IF it goes missing where legally you cannot.
  18. go see stylyn. (boronia.) speak to adam.
  19. ta. (dont have PShop on this machine.)
  20. bah, can be done easily. who's doing it?
