  1. old thread, but i'd like to make the point that when buying off the Internet, whether you have to pay customs tax + GST depends on your luck. You ARE (generally) supposed to pay the tax, and if you don't, then you're lucky Reason why prices off the shelves in Australia are higher - shops have holding costs, they paid customs duty and parts are immediately available. I've had duty go either way for stuff I've bought.. I think I'm even with them now lol
  2. been covered many times here, try a search? am in a bit of rush now, so i'll just say : APEXi AX53B70
  3. i did a remap ... told myself i'm not touching the car anymore boy was i wrong running a AP PFC for my RB20 now haha are you sure you won't mod again?
  4. i'm running a apexi pod with a custom airbox/partition. did notice difference on circuit as performance panel filter left car slightly breathless vs the pod. tradeoff is day to day i guess, particularly in summer. i'll live with it
  5. MADGT4 : Did u buy ur car from a dealer / importer? If u did, they probably fitted the cheapest (read:nastiest) pads they could find for compliancing, therefore the Bendix Ultimates will seem like a good upgrade. I went down that path too. Then I tried some real 'performance' brake pads (Endless for me) and the difference is night and day. Stopping is more important than going fast, no?
  6. bangin - how early / late ur turbo spools up also depends on your tuning. ask your tuner to have a look @ the PFC mapping again.
  7. Lunatic Dancer, did u get my PM? Anyway, interested in HICAS lock kit if you still have any left.
  8. don't buy Bendix, they're rubbish too Endless pads are a bit pricey but they last long and have awesome bite. Pagid are pretty good too.
  9. Endless SSS for street/track (0-530 deg I think) or NA-R (0-800deg) got mine from BEL Garage
  10. Jay - stock item is a viscous LSD. Aftermarket ones (CUSCO, NISMO, KaaZ, etc) are also LSDs, but they are mechanical and utilise clutch plates. I don't think anyone seriously wants to drive around with a fully locked diff... I think 2-way LSDs will provide the most consistent reaction when the tail steps out of line as the locking action remains the same off or on throttle. 1.5-way can be a bit more snappy, as the locking action when off-throttle is half of what it was on-throttle. I run a 2-way LSD in my car for circuit / drift use. It was quieter when I had a heavy duty clutch, but bites a lot harder now and is noiser with my button clutch. Usually get confused onlookers wondering what is wrong with my car when the LSD does it thing @ parking speeds, but that's all.
  11. i'm running R32 GT-R rims on my R32 GTS-T, with coilover suspension, no problemo. they sit just in line with the guards. if ur car is lowered but you do not have a short-stroke suspension/damper then u'll probably need to roll/lip the guards a little.
  12. Toshi on these forums did the ECU remap for me half a year ago try sending him a PM. Did a nice job, car was very responsive. Switched to PFC later as my mods were getting out of hand
  13. AVC-R is definitely one of the best, for my money. Most people worry whether the EBC will hold boost, but they forget that it's also important that the EBC doesn't spike, and the boost reading is accurate. Some of the other big names have been known to overboost a fair bit. My 2c.
  14. my car's water temp used to head north of 98 deg in traffic with the aircon on. Also have a big FMIC fitted. I obtained a triple-core radiator and haven't had any problems since, with water temp stable at 80 something degrees, depending on how hot it is outside. Radiator upgrade highly effective for Aussie weather..
  15. that old RB22/23/24 thread was lost? What a shame =/
  16. err... yeah what sydneykid said !! haha.. I bought GT-R calipers from a wrecker, and after a rebuild kit + careful cleaning & fresh coat of paint, caliper is as good as new. The point raised about bleeding air out of the system is very true, as from my own experience there can be still air waiting to be bled out even after you think you're done..
  17. a bit obvious, but err... check the radiator hoses?
  18. Andrew : awesome price for the D01J's. Could you pls post the address/contact details for Gary's Motorsport Tyres? I'll be after some 225/50 16 D01J's soon.
  19. hey guys, would just like to put in that sometimes poor braking could be due to calipers that are in poor condition. Many of our skylines are more than 5 years old, and many calipers are in need of a rebuild. There's a caliper rebuild kit (seals, etc) available from Nissan, can't remember the cost exactly but I think it's about a couple of hundred bucks. Will transform ur braking if your calipers are a little tired...
  20. Nice car needs a home, anyone after a nice clean R32 should look here!
  21. I can vouch for this car, excellent paintwork!
  22. i'm good, yourself? keep up ur photo diary, great stuff I want the prologue! heheh.. but leaving for home overseas in a couple of days. will be messy trying to get it delivered elsewhere, so maybe i'll wait till i get back to Syd. take care mate, catch ya laterz KJ
  23. hey J. is Prologue the full GT4 game or is it like a sampler, as its name implies?? haven't been keeping up with GT news lately...
  24. i reckon the silver ones look better on your car Troy...

    Redline oil

if your gearbox has a shortshift kit fitted, or the syncros are worn, put in the thicker grade oil. may be stiffer when cold, but at least you're protecting your gearbox
