  1. my RB20 runs a 3" dump/front pipe, cat and 3" Trust Power Extreme II exhaust nice sound outside, quiet inside the cabin, actually improved the torque in the midrange significantly back when my car was stock and helped the responsiveness overall. a simple ECU remap improved that further. Now significantly modified, but exhaust is still good - if I had a 2.5" I would've needed to spend more $$ to get it changed.
  2. I'm with funkymonkey :werd:
  3. yeah they'll fit fine as Tony said... differences : R33 GTR seat is slightly better padded, and the middle part of the trim is more durable than the R32 GTR seat. which is why i bought a R33 GTR item
  4. hey mate, to clarify, is it a vertex style kit, or an original vertex kit? waiting for dAVE to reply on std GTR front bar. If that doesnt happen, may be interested. I'm in Sydney - where's Redlands? KJ
  5. I like the D01Js, very progressive tyre and pretty good grip levels. they lasted longer than i expected too, considering my frequent trackday usage. I'm using the Falken Azenis RT215 now. It has a semi-slick type pattern, but the RT215 is a street compound tyre, not 'R' rubber. Not bad on track in the first 3 laps, but pretty hopeless after that as it overheats. Cornering performance pretty good for a street tyre as the tread has broad blocks. Good compromise for day to day and occasional trackday, but in my own experience, i'd say just go straight for 'R' rubber if your car won't see much street use and you don't want to buy another set of rims + tyres for trackdays & semi-slicks/slicks.

    What The F**k

speaking of protons... my neighbour used to have one of the top dog drag cars (several years back) ... was a Satria with full EVO drivetrain (AWD) + engine, massive turbo. Was quicker than all GT-Rs back in those times, which no one modded.. but current trend = ppl doing full house drag cars with GT-Rs and also actual Lan-Evos. Not enuff circuit cars interest tho also, ever notice that a rare sight are Imprezas, which are everywhere here?

    What The F**k

some more pics from Malaysia (DragBattle at Sepang F1 Circuit) the Civic looks meaner than the R34 !
  8. LSD, calipers and GT28 turbo still for sale...
  9. be careful adjusting the APEXi N1 , especially if the version u have is the N1 PRO - if you set a race shock too soft, easy to fk up the valves. if it's ur daily driver, suggest a street spec shock/coilover unless you're willing to put up with a hard ride.
  10. Marlin : any contact details for Martin / John White Race Engines? I want to avoid oil surge on circuit driven R32 GTS-T (RWD sump).
  11. also, if it's a one-piece exhaust (eg APEXi GT-spec), I think the shipping company may charge a lot for the sheer amount of space the box takes up, not just the weight. When I was in the market for exhaust, I tossed up buying direct myself or buying from local shop that had the Jap exhaust in stock, and ended up buying here. Less hassle and probably around the same cost anyway..
  12. yea 2 row is cheaper... but if budget stretches, a light aluminium 3 row is good
  13. I remember seeing Koyo aluminium radiators for like around $1k for a R34 GTT... should be similar for a GTR? Jap made, good quality and decent price. Also have seen Trust radiators, don't think they're big enough. Other Jap ones: APEXi, FWIN and ARC (especially) are awesome, but be prepared to pay big $$. ARC radiator has awesome construction and is unbelievably light. Alternative: can modify ur existing radiator. I had my radiator re-cored to triple cores...runs cooler than aluminium radiators in day-to-day traffic jams, but hotter on the track as it dissipates heat less effectively. works well for the $$, but if I have a bit of extra $$ lying around in future I will buy an aluminium one
  14. i looked at the resistors Jaycar had - not designed for use in a hot engine bay mate... decided to go with the GTR resistor pack. BEL Garage sourced it and wired it up to the low-impedence injectors. can't remember how much, but i got a 2nd hand one. lucky it works.. personally if i'd known it's only $150, I would've bought new.
  15. if it's within 1 1/2 hours from Sydney, I'll be there every weekend, if not to drive, then to watch hope it takes off, get ppl off the streets & onto proper tracks!
  16. you can wire in a GTR resistor pack, which is what i got done to fit 550cc low impedence injectors to my RB20, running AP Eng PFC. available new from Nissan, or try your luck at wreckers.
  17. well, i like them... Pros in D1 use them for drift, but they're a nice grippy street performance tyre. Lucky u, i'm still looking for someone who can supply me a new set here. dunno why no one sells them, they're sold everywhere back home in Malaysia.
  18. calipers are good, the rubber seals are in great condition. discs were fine when taken off my car, no uneveness, cracks, etc. much better than what you find at wreckers - $250 for grotty calipers with dead seals. i reckon they should fit a S14, but it'll be better if you ask around to be sure...
  19. yeah 33s a little heavier than the 32, SSS would not be sufficient. NA-Rs quite awesome, I keep them for track use. Phil's CC-X and caliper combo quite awesome, so I'm looking forward to trying that next re: CC-X and how they affect rotors: I have seen 2 different extremes. 1) BEL Garage's 'EAT22B' STi - Endless 6 pot calipers with CC-X pads and Endless Straight6 rotors. Owner used to drive the car everyday with those pads on, and also on to track, etc. Didn't seem to have an issue of pads munching the rotors 2) Some other guy's WRX with CC-X pads, running APEXi GT rotors. He managed to lunch both the pads AND rotors - pads were ground down to bare metal, and the rotors weren't slitted anymore hahaha... Was put down to the 2nd guy braking like a grandma all the time, never bothering to warm up the brakes at all - surely from time to time he could have given the middle pedal a firm stab with no one following close behind? i think it was something like that anyway (my disclaimer hahahha)
  20. Anyone have an original R32 GT-R front bar for sale? I'm tired of the fibreglass one I have, would like to buy the OEM plastic front bar. PM me or e-mail [email protected] , I'm in Sydney.
  21. I'm running NA-Rs on my GTS-T. Awesome pad, they actually have decent bite when cold. But very noisy pad, I use Endless SSS now for road use. Will use WINMAX next as the SSS is wearing out. CC-X, ask Sidewaymambo, he's using them on his R33 - my opinion, they're awesome. Have tried the CC-X in a STi with the Endless 6-pot calipers, and they were unbelievable.
