  1. A good example was one time i was skidding in the hills, big rear grip, bugger all front, on a tight corner half way through the engine cut out (plug on the igniter module came off), the front just plowed as soon as the rear straightened, and off the edge i went. I was only able to make it through that corner with that speed under drifting conditions where i could use the rear grip to help steer the car, once i was left to grip up there wasn't enough front steer to keep me around the corner. This is an example of a poorly setup car, but the physics are still relevant. Anyway this is off the topic, my point is that drift cars use the small amounts of front grip they have very efficiently, and therefore chasing huge grip at the front becomes less relevant, hence camber gain curves etc aren't as critical where the mac strut can some times fall down.

  3. lol sorry, i mixed you up with another SAU member who just comes in and talks shit unnecessarily constantly, it's been a while since i've been on here and the names are starting to mix together haha. and yes, grip cars do waste grip, the rears fight each other around every corner with the diff resisting dissimilar radii, same as the front often depending on ackerman and scrub radius, although more importantly the front ultimately has to fight the rear and it's resistance to turn. All this is wasted grip, drifting wastes it's rear grip through spinning the rear tyres, however it uses it's front grip quite efficiently as doesn't have to fight the rear when turning, in fact the rear helps the front turn. This is why for sharp turns, where the radii differences are so great and there is so much conflict between every tyre on the car, drifting around the corner is often the fastest way, especially in low traction conditions (rally).
  4. If people want to buy ROTA's then it's their choice, i have an issue with these cheap wheel fanboys trying to justify their cheapness by spouting shit about them being as good quality, or it not mattering that they are copying other brands etc, that shit is utter garbage and you're bound to cop an earful if you try saying that shit in earshot of me or many others.
  5. and people wonder why originality and innovation is slowing despite a growing market? justify your junk as long as you want, end of the day it's companies like ROTA who choose to imitate and create inferior products at a fraction of the cost that make in not viable to innovate. Innovation costs money, whether it's the process of creation or simply the losses associated with learning from failures, these costs must be recuperated some how, after doing all the leg work to create a popular design, to have a company come in and near on replicate the wheel and reap the benefits is bullshit, and who ever thinks this is ok needs a kick in the dick. It's one thing for a few manufacturers to create similar designs, it's another for a company to base their whole product line on replica's. Not only this, but the reputation of many of these good brands have been tarnished by photos of cheap replica junk broken in ways which could only be caused by poor manufacturing, mistaken for the real deal. I have run a lot of different wheels in some of the harshest conditions possible for wheels, and for people to tell me their cheap junk is anywhere near the strength of the good stuff is a joke, i have bent every type of wheel possible on pot holes and curbs that you couldn't even imagine exist, i have seen the failures of wheels on other's cars first hand time after time. Put simply, your chinese/taiwanese junk doesn't compare to well manufactured wheels, i don't care if your wheels have a big Japanese brand on them, chances are they were still outsourced from some shitty factory in china. I don't care if a "competition drift car" runs rota's, you think they are going to say no to free wheels? Maybe it's just me, but despite what my car may look like to others, i still believe in taking pride in your car, and for me that's not using cheap replica junk which is destroying the industry, and is clearly an inferior product, just to save a few $$.
  6. Well you've never added anything useful to this site, so why start now i guess eh? Yes there is some unsprung weight savings with mac strut, but it's far from the reason why most people go down the path. For Drift one of the most important modifications to a car these days is the knuckle design, unfortunately for R chassis cars they decided to use a shitty cast item instead of the stronger and much lighter forged item the S chassis' use. More importantly than the weight to drifters is how much easier it is to cut and shut the knuckle while still keeping strength, as well as how much easier it is to change hubs etc, anyone who has had to change the hub on the front of a skyline frequently, quickly and with minimal tools knows exactly what i'm talking about, it's a head screw compared to dealing with the S chassis gear. Clearance is also a bit of an issue with the R chassis front end at big lock, the sway bar links further out and the bulky upper arms can possibly create an issue with real large lock setups. My biggest worry going away from the standard R chassis setup is simply strength, for a drift car, we use mostly the rear end to steer the car, the front end is more of a catalyst, so unlike grip cars which waste so much grip at each front wheel fighting both the rear end and in a lot of cases the other front tyre on the other side, drift cars are more efficient with the front grip they have and don't need to chase the same fractions of percentages of grip up front, so the geometry curves at the front are less critical, and the mac strut does a good enough job for most applications. It's simplicity is a huge benefit, especially when you're not a race engineer or have access to a team of them, but most of all it's ability to make more lock easier is why the conversion has been done in quite a few R32's around the world, probably most famously the Bee*R R32 etc. As far as my setup goes, there is very little that still resembles an S-chassis or R-chassis setup, however it does still use the S14 knuckle and strut, the lower control arms, tension rods and strut tower are all completely custom.
  7. JIC REAR Coilovers to suit S13/R32/C33/A31, pillow top joints (great condition), height adjustable, 7kg 2.5" ID springs, damper condition unknown. $300 due to unknown condition of dampers.
  8. agreed, i have water literally spewing out of my breathers
  9. by not leaving positive feedback, by leaving neutral feedback, i am reflecting my dealings with them accurately. they were not positive nor negative, they were neutral, in my comment i noted that the product was very good. if the service was as described like the product was, then it would have been a positive experience. the idea of the feedback system is to keep dealers in check, keep them honest to their word and make sure future buyers have an accurate idea of the dealer. if someone saw my neutral feedback, they'd instantly see that the product was good, but the delivery was slow, they can make their mind up based on an accurate description of my dealings with them. i have had many good dealings with people on ebay who provide both the product and service as described, they received a positive feedback, it's hardly fair to dealers like this that dealers who don't provide the same level of service receive the same feedback. that is not blackmailing... threatening to block me unless i lie about my experience with them to not tarnish their feedback system is. actually technically it's probably closer to extortion as blackmail is generally used for monetary value.
  10. each to their own, i'll still recommend their stuff, the turbo feels f**king strong on my car, just with a caution to not need it in a short time frame as it may come on time, it may not (for what ever reason), but don't plan an event based on it rocking up when it should as it could end in tears, and already has for a few mates (i was lucky in the scheme of things)
  11. lol there was no threat made though? i didn't say "or i'll chop your legs off", the point is you need to be careful about the wording you use, and that's exactly what i said, no more no less, throwing around the word slander implies some pretty shitty stuff. if you took it as a threat, i'm deeply apologetic, now forgive me or i'll murder you and everyone you love
  12. are you f**king serious? so if a buyer receives shitty service, then ebay as always asks for feedback, you give them feedback accurately reflecting your experience with them, that the buyer then should expect to be blackmailed into changing it to something it's not?
  13. it must have been the part where i made a threat that made it sound threatening. sounds like you've been watching too many hollywood flicks. my point was the use of the word slander implies some pretty strong shit, and i certainly wasn't slandering anyone.
  14. remember, this was not an issue until he blackmailed me, those defending him need to remember, he was a business trying to blackmail a customer from giving accurate feedback, anyone who defends this practise should be ashamed.
  15. because it's not the delivery that's delayed, they aren't getting sent off until weeks after the purchase, personally mine was sent of about 2 weeks after i bought it, the only reason i chased it up was i was quoted a fairly liberal time frame as is, and i waited until a few days after the latest estimated date, chased it up, and was told it would be sent off the next day...
  16. use your words very carefully, i am not slandering someone's business, this is what happened. 3000 other people, minus the people who were too afraid to put neutral feedback in case of re-precautions, let a lone people who did put it and were then threatened. either way, that is not the point, i received a neutral experience due to poor service, yet apparently i'm the one in the wrong for reflecting it within the feedback system which is designed for this exact reason?
  17. as far as people thinking his are you actually serious? tell me you're joking? wow, you must be great at poker, no one would get anything by you do you know how hard it is to send something to the wrong country, with completely different postal codes, not the mention a different language? as far as the housing one, even if it was true, he effectively sold a product he didn't have, once again, poor service and worthy of a neutral feedback, certainly no more.
  18. people defending him? nup he's a business that makes a commitment to their customers, can't make it, then actively lies to cover his mistakes. if he is loaded down and his delivery times are suffering, reflect that in the advertised product/service, tell us it will take between 1-3 weeks, and let us make the decision whether that is acceptable to us or not. if it's not, and we need it sooner, it's a critical detail we are entitled too before purchasing the product. to actively lie about delivery times, in order to make their product and service more appealing, yet be unable to deliver said product/service is dishonest business practice. now if it was just my turbo, and he simply said to me sorry, i've been backed up really bad and unfortunately it was delayed then fine, but it's a trend of consistent delays and lies, and to come back to me and try to blackmail me into changing my feedback to something it clearly wasn't? he can blow me repeatability til i'm dry. as far as "dropship" customers like me, yeh it must be so hard dealing with someone like me who clicked the buy now button, paid the money instantly, sent my address then waited.
  19. just some of the experiences i got in response to a post i made on fb - Everyone I know whose brought one has had the same trouble. Mine took f**king forever. - They're delivery is fair slack hey. My Brother ordered one a while back now. From the day he ordered it heard nothing then 2 weeks later emailed them and they'd sent it to Austria instead of Australia and then a week later sent one express to him. Lol. Mine I ordered from Kando on a Thursday and it was here the following Wednesday. also had a mate buy one, they said they were waiting on a rear housing, so his was sent late, took a few weeks, he missed out on a drift event which he paid for, luckily he sold his spot off at about half price so didn't lose it all.
  20. i just sent him this after he tried to do the same You received a neutral feedback because the delivery was very slow to the point of almost costing me an event, however the product was very good, that's the whole point of the feedback system, if you provide a positive service, then and only then will you receive a positive feedback. You are not "forced" to block me, you are trying to blackmail me, so how about if you want to block me, i will be "forced" to change my feedback to a negative feedback, as clearly by that point that's exactly what my experience with dealing with you will have been like. I hope you see reason and hopefully in the future we can do business again, believe me when i say it is in your best interest not to continue with this sort of business practice with any of your customers, let a lone me.
  21. they are f**king shocking, both me and my mate had big issues with delivery, i almost missed out on an event, my mate did...
