No need to be rude buddy, am i not entitled to a point of view or opinion. We were a paid entrant at this event...were you?Unfortunately that a lot of other people on here have said the same thing, they just dont have the balls to do it publicly. Like i said earlier...its over on the other page...no need to continue. BTW definately not my 1st track day. FFS even the promoter said he wont let it happen again... lets move on shall we. -

Its simple really the entry form read "NO PRO DRIVERS" you run an advanced driver training school...and are a test driver...you get paid to do it. You are a PRO driver...simple...are you stupid or illiterate? A lot of your peers and other entrants feel the same way as me...just dont have the balls to say what they think. What would you rather...someone who speaks their mind to you or someone that is friendly to you and hacks on you behind your back. Your probabaly a nice likeable fella, ive never met you, its just we dont agree on this issue...fine. Our driver is not a paid professional (drives for his dads BMW team) but we thought in the spirit of the event and good sportsmanship it would be best to enter open class. Unfortunately not everyone is as sporting as we are. -
sure do

The exit corner speed of our car coming onto the straight was apparantly one of the best at superlap on the weekend.

id rather be a good sportsman than make a contest unfair thats all. Our car would have matched his in that class...no problem at all...our car more than complied to race clubman...but...no point stealing candy from a baby though. Some people feel big time winning a lopsided contest...not me. The S2000 cars lack of a working cat. upset a few people who actually made the effort to get their car to properly comply with class rules. A few competitors in the clubman class may not be interested in returning if thats the way its played. no need to be cheeky "champs" -

why dont we just turn up and Bozz can drive all the cars....seriously....It may as well be called the "John Boston 500" he can drive someone elses car...thats fine. just be fair and take it to the open class like we did...Its like me running on for Merewether U15's rugby union and scoring 8 tries and winning the grand final for them. -
mate you have always been one of the good guys on here...glad to help out. A case of Coopers red will acompany pick up and delivery. A small price to pay i think.
-
Im lending him my rims and tyres...he'll only need them for 1 pass...but has to come to Newy to pick them up and drop them back off.

Yeah i had a good look at the track after he went past and didnt see a drop. We probably dropped more oil than him. Already got a decent catch can set-up (same as twoogle's) ready to go on the car to prevent the disaster we had on Saturday. -

We came 15th out of 40 in class and 16th overall out of 74. We will be aiming for top 5 next time round. Might need a few more laps and better than OEM brakes to do it though. The cars probably good for a 1.14 set-up how Luke wants it...he was on a 1.16 on his last lap before stopping due to oil in engine bay. -
No Luke driving...this is at the end of the straight on his 1st lap...catch can full already and plumbed back into the inlet to keep it road legal. As Luke backed off oil sprayed back out the inlet through the AFM's resulting in the car stalling mid corner. Luke did very well to keep the car off the tyre barrier and on its wheels. We cleaned it up and removed the plumbing to the inlet, used a vented 1 litre water bottle as a catch can over flow, restricted the car to a 7000rpm limit and 16psi of boost to try and keep the car out there. His next session saw only 2 hot laps before bottle was full and spraying oil through the engine bay. To manage a best time of 1.18.5 was a massive achievement considering how de-tuned the car was and lack of track time.

This is exactly the reason why we didnt enter clubsprint... Our car was more than eligible to enter clubsprint as its Dave's daily driver...but because we had our good mate Luke Searle behind the wheel we thought it only fair to step up into the opens. Luke drives for his dads team in the BMW and is not paid to do so, so technically he isnt a paid proffesional driver. We agree with Jack's and BHDave's comment about this issue in that its not against the rules but also isnt real sportsman like either. -

whats the go with "couples and girls only" admitted to nightclubs around these parts?....Dave looked shocking in a bikini....but seemed to obtain admission to various establishments....Bouncers are not too fussy around here as the word 'unkept' was heard on more than one occasion. -

excuse for what?? putting in an outstanding effort in first event? or considering other competitors when people were pressuring us to send a car out that i knew was dropping oil? i dont need to make excuses for that sort of effort...im proud of it. you dont need an excuse for your busted RB26's Duncan...its expected by now. Although...thanks for the last comment...at least we are giving it a go mate. Its a lot more exciting than drag racing and Dave and i are keen for the next event. -

Dave and i had a ball considering our car only did 4 laps...two of them on pace. Engine wanted to share oil with engine bay due to a poorly designed catch tank system for circuit racing. Rather than sending it out risking putting oil on the track we decided to park it and live to fight another day. 1.18.5 is pretty good first time out and we have an idea where the set-up needs to go to better balance the car. Factory brembo's need to go and some SAU Vic. style anchors need installing. -
