The engineering that has gone into that car is awesome. The engine setback and modified sump is superb. -

The SK cheersquad didn't take long to arrive. Cast the line and get an immediate hook-up...lol Whats with the childish name calling ? Keep it a bit adult please. Ill respond to your question..ok Ive entered 2 autosalons...1 x Newcastle and 1 x Sydney Final Battle. Stacey has entered 3 1 x Newcastle, 1 x Sydney and 1 x Final Battle. A total of 13 trophy's between us...nothing ricey about our car as the awards we have won are all power and engineering related. You have entered two Autosalons haven't you Duncan? so you have been there as many times as i have. Ive been to more interstate drag meets than Autosalon events...so you could cancel all the WSID events ive competed at and id still be in front. -

The point is this...Gary's a tightass...recycles his catch tank filth...and doesn't buy the cheap insurance an oil change after each meeting buys you. When and where do you race Gary ? You seem to enter events and never turn up. Id like to view your results on Natsoft to see what all your expertise nets you on the track. You also in the past told people on here including me you work for certain race teams and when we approach them at meetings they say they have never heard of you. Gary is the god of all things in motoring and seems to be an expert on every facet of motorsport. He is never wrong. Someone PM'd me today and made a very fitting statement..." funny how sydneykid always has a way of changing answer to mend things he has said, helpful in a self promotional fashion. " I came into this thread to just throw a few ideas around...getting some good discussion going and thinking outside the square. Everyone blindly following anything Sydneykid writes is not always the way to go. He has some good idea's but not everything he suggests is the right thing to do. -
agree...the penalty was cruel to us aussie's but fair to the sport. Marks radiator pod struck Rubens front left quite hard and im surprised there wasn't any permanent damage. It also made the race more exciting to watch...as Mark would have been 40+ seconds in front without the drive through.

HKS turbo's always outperform Garrett and Trust....always. HKS is the best choice. -

I dont advise plumbing the catch tank back to the inlet...even after the AFM's...on decel our circuit car at superlap (due to the poorly set-up system) sprayed oil out the inlet and shorted out the afm's. This happened on the 1st 'hot lap' into turn 1. If we didn't have our mate and Aussie production car champ. Luke Searle at the wheel the car may have ended up on its roof. The car cut out and had no engine power, power steering, ATTESSA etc -
yes mine used to choof with HKS 2530's...once tuned never choofed again. i dont give a rats arse what anybody says...it can be tuned out...mine had dual atmo BOV's and Z32 AFM's. The only way we got my GT-RS' from choofing was to use a balance pipe manifold.
-
Just aquired 4 more RB30's to add to my collection and Phil at Argo has a pallet of rods available to me. should be able to stack the pallet back on the rack for him after mine is built...lol

Where did you get the 'le-mans'...CRD? If the ecu is a 'garden variety' power fc its fuel cut. no harm done hitting it...i used to sit on mine when i ran the power fc to launch the car...was only when i went to ign cut it smashed the N1 oil pump (2nd launch using it at 9500rpm).

no need to be a c0ckhead Doof. Im about to go Nistune in my S13...better than Power FC...Nistune has knock control. If you have the bucks go Vi-PEC especially if your tuner is familiar with them.

Hey Trent...looking for a Nistune to suit CA18DET S13...can you help ?

Gtr Factory Exhaust Manifold, Turbo Side Porting
Swiper the Fox replied to JimX's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I welded my HKS ones up and hand finished them internally before getting them coated. Double ceramic coated in High-Temp Black is the only way id use a stainless manifold. Without the coating i feel the heat losses counteract the gains from increased flow. Ported stockies hold a lot more heat in the gas path which increases gas velocity and ensures a harder hit on the turbine. -

Thanks for the info Dunc's...what a read! Damn how many chinamen have you assainated? Look its not sad at all...it sheds some light on what is actually occuring inside the hose when performing this mod. Most of the gains installing the rear fitting (which im saying to do if no other venting is used) is from venting pressure and allowing the system the Nissan engineer's designed do its job. There is no confusion...do the mod if you are not venting elsewhere...simple. Dont just except that all its doing is draining the oil from your head...its simply not doing that job to return the oil...the factory returns are being helped do their job. -

Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
Swiper the Fox replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
yes spot on. ive tried the hose on both sides and it works better on the RHS from my test results. Ive never connected it to the rear of the head though. Weird that when connected to the LHS it actually had oil filling the can from the rear turbo oil drain...and on the RHS only vents sump gas and no oil.
