Do Hks Use Denso Injectors?
Swiper the Fox replied to Skyline1989's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Denso make almost all of the Jap aftermarket injectors HKS, SARD, Power Enterprise, Nismo, Blitz etc. As well as the Nissan OEM items. I laugh when guys have posted silly statements like 'SARD are better injectors than Nismo' as they are the same thing except the package they come in. (brands used in the example are for example purposes only) -
Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift

Greg, Trent...would it be possible to post some pics of what you guys use. thanks in advance Paul -
Holding the heat in the manifold/gas path increases gas velocity and provides a harder 'hit' on the turbine. Not only will it make more power but increased velocity will spoll up the turbine quicker. More power and faster spool up is something we all want...even us knuckle dragging sraight line racers. I use the ceramic 'hi-temp' black on the hot side all the way to the end of the 'b' pipe. An example of how well it works was demonstrated by Bu5ter at the strip one night. He could touch the turbine housing after a run with his bare fingers...he said if you tried that previously you would leave your fingerprints behind. I baulk at getting pistons and or chambers done as im a little 'gun shy' when it comes to ceramic inside the engine.

lol...maybe i should have tried tennis...my bank account probably wishes i did. If anyone has any idea's or tips on oil control or mods for a CA18 let me know or post here (i know title says RB's but its an RB's baby brother) as im building one up at the moment for a bit of fun. I understand oil cooler is almost mandatory on these things. Do i just follow the same general rules as i have been for the RB's or do they need something extra ? . -

ok 510...looking back the vi-pec chute comment was pretty funny. My PM to you was just that...a private message...understand? Repeating something said in private publicly is a bit stiff. You chose to come after me...if you dont like the return serve then get off the court. What is the relevance to the thread of posting up your spec sheet? on topic? lol...read the thread title. yes big error on my behalf to overlook the set-up on the car...but hey...a couple of lessons learnt there. Come and say hi at Jamboree...l dont hold a grudge. -
yeah...what he said.

Dazmo's R33gtr Build

being a drag car i have the luxury to run auto shutdown...its saved 1 engine already. Unfortunately being a corner car you cant run one...so you use the next best thing...an EM PRO II...its just paid for itself. How was the pump drive mounted to the stock balancer Daz ? Was it this that comprimised the balancers integrity? Ive seen them crack through the keyway before but in half like that is full on. -
Trust 517z Vs Hks Gt-ss Vs Garrett 2860-7's
Swiper the Fox replied to ChakGTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
We took a Garrett T04Z off the circuit car and fitted the HKS item...chalk and cheese. The HKS item was tuned by Mark Jacobsen who has had extensive experience with the Garrett T04Z and could not believe the difference the HKS item provides. This was the first time he has tuned a HKS T04Z and was very impressed. Yeah some of the older generation HKS turbo's you mentioned were poor for their application but not dud turbo's....id take the HKS T51R KAI BB off the list...i saw one crack 750RWHP at a dyno comp in qld...i was gobsmacked. Dont bag a product unless you have 1st hand experience with it. Not just the fact that you dont like it because you can't afford it. (that was not directed at anybody in particular)...its like the old saying "if you want to find out how bad something is...ask someone who doesn't have one" Its like chicks who bitch about girls who get their tits done...they only bitch because they are jealous that theirs are inferior. -

One of the Vic circuit boys had these and even the generic Garrett's were better. That shootout your refering to was done with different cars...a telling factor in my opinion...the 517's graph looks like it was done in 3rd gear...they were results correlated from data gained over a period of time from the dyno's ecu memory on different days and possibly different years. If i remember rightly it was Tillbrooks dyno data that was used. The Vic. circuit car did a back to back. My statement was not stupid at all...its based on facts and actual 'back to back' testing on the same car, dyno, driver and racetrack. Quite often im asked how i get such good results...simple...i now only use HKS turbo's. Currently using the following on our cars HKS2510's (street) HKS T04Z (circuit) HKS T51R SPL BB (drag) and have used in the past HKS 2530's and HKS GT-RS's. All turbo's have performed with better results from any of the 'equivalent' items from other manufacturers. -

The above paragraph is a pearler. Ive got people thinking...that was my aim. Taking one mans gospel as a given is a bit too common here especially when it involves certain people. Ive not all the answers as im finding new stuff out almost every week...but i try to help people out when and where i can. Some people will never learn anything because they are too pigheaded to listen to anyones views and admit that someone may have a better option or may actually have tested things and proven that theory doen't always transfer across into practice. When im wrong i easily admit it and when i cross the line i try and put it right and apoligise...no one is perfect. To the uninitiated it may appear ive singled out Gary and targeted him...maybe so but only for the good of furthering knowledge and this forum. Gary has been caught out bulsh1tting to me in the past and anyone who that thinks that lying to me is quickly forgotten is wrong...i put them in the same basket as thieves. No apoligy was forthcoming so sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. Take it away Blitz... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JJ7oGHwMTI -

Spot on...great post. Ill save over the next 12 months my catch tank oil...Gary, you can run it in your engine after your 4th race oil change (id still like to know where and when you actually are racing). Id say your bearings wont last the outlap! -

Walk510...you have looked like a tool correcting people in other threads only to have incorrect imformation yourself and obviously no clue what you were talking about...i could have had a dig but thought it best to laugh at you and leave it at that...im sure the egg on your face would still smell. If your going to try to be funny use your own material...don't steal others humour please. big mistake was learned on the Superlap car...yes i am first to admit i overlooked the set-up installed by another workshop. This was an error on my behalf...unlike others i actually do f*ck things up from time to time this is how lessons are learnt. The f*cked thing was the workshop owner and fellow competitor refused to help Dave (cars owner) when he approached them for help. What a wanker. To be honest we realised the engine was a heavy breather as it was smoky from the day Dave brought the car back from Sydney...but i didn't expect it to breathe over a litre of oil on the outlap. Big name workshops f*cking poor fella's over with crappy workmanship and charging megabucks was the catalist for me helping a few guys out with engines. I told Dave to bring the car home after the workshop lunched the engine on the dyno but because his parents business was a supplier to them they made him leave it there to be fixed. Dave's parents now acknowledge this as a huge error on their behalf...they now have nothing to do with the proprietor or the workshop. The pommies banned me for trying to sell my drag car on there....they said i was a trader for trying to sell my 'companies drag car'...lol...banned for life...go figure! -

The box should hold up ok...its the convertor im worried about. Ive got a RE4R03A 4WD box with factory Nissan transfer case out of an A32 Cima on its way from Japan. Ill pay Steve to set it up if you guys can hold convertors up to it. My car is 1360KG without driver and is capable of over 950AWHP...Dom Rigoli seems to think that ill split convertors and it will not work due to the weight...their car is much lighter than mine and they have huge convertor trouble. PPG dogbox will stay in for now. Best of luck with it guys. -
