Great post Shane.... Example, our RB26 had a torque curve like an upside-down ice cream cone once we went from 2530's to GT-RS's...not even 9500rpm off the limiter launches would stop it from bogging and being a pig to race. Do you think that if we bolted on an RB30 bottom end it would have fixed it...no way. Soon as we did the head it transformed it into a car that had a big flat torque curve from a peak at 4500rpm all the way to the 9500rpm redline. Same thing happened with another car is was involved with that used the same style head as mine...it moved the whole torque curve 1000rpm earlier and kept it flat in the top-end without falling off. There's more to these engines than simply bolting on a bigger bottom end.

New - Sydney, Wanting To Go For A Cruise?
Swiper the Fox replied to Jez13's topic in Introduce yourself
Hi Jez...nice car mate top stuff...the N1 headlights set it off nicely too. The lip is a Garage Saurus item and is the same as the one on my car...but looks better on your car in all black. -
Yes its the one i ask for when people need to pay me in the international currency. Compak Attak in a few weeks at WSID...if you can make it, ill see ya there. Righto...back on the topic of how crappy these forklift engines are compared to the awesome 26...lol

yeah a bit stiff eh. im having a nice cold Coopers green...very nice.

He said he would like a turbo the same and thats the current price if he wanted one you idiot...im not selling him the one ive got am i. He said he wanted a HKS T51R so a quick search of Nengun's pricelist will tell you what another one will set you back. Guilt-Toy is a good mate of mine who i speak to every day, a bit of banter between mates. But yes he thinks im amazing and only said the other day that he only thought so after i posted that...lol...ya clown. Your barking up the wrong tree asuming a lot but knowing nothing. i was polite enough to address your concerns ok.

woah...easy tiger...you need to get off the coffee and maybe drink something a little more calming. a few home truths perhaps...as thats what you ask for but you seem to talk a little turd. I love a lighthearted niggle...its what us aussie's do...most of it is directed at people i have a relationship other than whats written on here. Like brothers or mates bouncing jibes off each other, nothing more. They have RB30's i have a 26...does that mean im not allowed to build one to see what the fuss is all about. Before RIPS ive never seen anyone successfully adapt one to 4WD properly and also achieve good results in 4WD format. The joke about being a forklift engine (they are engines not motors as they use combustion) is a classic i have to credit to Jack (JAGR33) and Ben at Racepace...its a classic and pretty funny. I achieved on low mounts what most people thought was only obtainable with a single. All that was ever said in regards to that was directed at the naysayers that said it couldn't be done. Big deal...really Its more than common knowledge that im racing with Marks team at Godzilla now and its no secret that the HKS turbo kit and PPG gearbox is Marks old stuff thats been tarted up. When i say new i mean new for me, my car, my set-up etc. A bit like when someone buys a second hand car...its new to them...but not a new car. Wow i even use the same clutch as Mark does as he refers to my clutch as the sister to his or is that a second hand part that we swap between cars?. If you had any knowledge of HKS turbo's you would know that the T51 range shares the same cartridge as the Garrett items. The difference is in the housings...so whats the problem using those housings to produce a bigger turbo to match the new spec item HKS have released. Yes i have always used HKS turbo's on my cars...both circuit and drag. The stirring over auto's has always been directed at 2rismo, 1JZ-747 and Bu5ter...guys i race with and know outside of this forum. I used to get a laugh out of telling them i actually drive my car instead of just sitting in it. The Power FC performed admirably considering what i was using it for but we were always held back by its limitations like no launch control, anti-lag, drivability and most importantly for racing data logging. Guess what? the Vi-PEC ecu didn't exist then...if you had asked me back then if it was better than a MoTeC i would have said no, as the MoTeC was the 'holy grail' of ECU's back then in my eyes...but now the V88 Vi-PEC exists. The Vi-PEC is a fantastic product and has allowed us to step up a level with the car, time will be a good thing for this product as it will in time show its top notch. Im not a dealer or re-seller of the Vi-PEC product, so i have no financial interest in it...yes Mark is a dealer and im happy to use and support the product for him. It make good sense to look after a fella who has so much to offer me and the development of my car. You need to get over the problem you obviously have with me as you have a history of negativity towards me and the achievements ive made with the car.(its all there in black and white) This is a community where people come on here to help each other out, have a joke, share knowledge and make friends. Ok not everyones going to like everyone, all people are different and sometimes the written word can be read the wrong way. But personal attacks are a bit lame. its nice to be nice cheers

does the list happen to have something with a telephone convo. we may have had?
-
So now its not the bottom end that makes the engine its the head. I agree with that one. Build your own head...your not getting mine. Actually i will build you one if you like...ok...no problem. Send the SM4 back to Ray Hall...he will fix it for you for free. Ill organise it for you...ok...no problem. Knowing the basis of the trick is one thing...but do you know to perform it?
-
Compak Attak is in a few weeks come have a chat then...Mark Jacobsen will be coming down to prep the car so he will be with me...you can pick whats left of our scrambled brains.
-
thats not the answer to my question Ben...c'mon...how much? care to tell me to p1ss off and its none of my business if you wish...as long as you don't tell me that when i ask for a WSID weather forecast...hehe

Oil Comingn Out Of My Breather

broken piston ring land. -
i just built a monster Tomei 2.8 with a mega buck head on it...60hrs+ in labour on the head alone! Its one of our Stage 3+ race heads...pure automotive pornography. The heads are what makes the difference and i believe we have got them spot on for the 26...thats why ive never really entertained the RB30 stuff...ive never really needed to. Im going to build one though...they seem to send people who have them crazy! Just look at Stephen Hugh-Smith and Robbie Ward...complete nutters! im a bit dirty having to hand the 2.8 engine over as its better than mine. Its going in a GTS-t owned by a fella in his early 20's! Hope he knows someone in the tyre and rear driveshaft industry...he's going to need it. Roy you need to get in 2rismo's ear...he spent mega dollars on a rebuild only to go slower than his original unopened engine..lol

C'mon Steve-o don't be soft...lets compete! lol at 20psi 450KW was a walk in the park for my 26 on BP98...at ALL 4. Not a paltry 370...and that graph shows 2500-3000 rpm of peak torque...congrats. My graph is almost double that! go to the RB29 thread to see me vs Ben's mega dollar mega engineered torque master. yes he had more power under 2500rpm...but who drives there?... my midrange was far superior...and that was the day after my car was run-in with an 11.5 tune just nudging 22psi with minimal timing. Care to go up against my 500KW graph Steve-o...it has actual tune and only 25psi...the power delivery and torque shits all over my 22psi run-in effort. Dont go on saying ive got a better head and cam selection etc...thats my good fortune...you chose what you put in your engine...i chose what i put in mine. this is going to be good...lots of fun with a bit of niggle. and for those standing on the outside looking in Steve-o and i are actually friends. (for now )

Im keen to use a billet kit if its not too exy. Robbie is the king of all things RB30 as far as drag cars go...(please no-one bring up the VL boys) no one in this country has had any success running these in 4WD format yet (again no VL comments). Im keen to build one and put one of my monster heads on it to see if i can get it to work. If not ill stick it back in the forklift and be australias fastest pallet stacker.

i see your mate was kind enough to leave the tangs off the front of your car. im more than confident of this... my rb26 gt-rs > your rb30 gt-rs

Superlap 2009 Gets A Green Light!
Swiper the Fox replied to Superlap Australia's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I cannot speak directly for the organisers but i was led to believe this event was Australia's answer to the Tsukuba Rev Speed event. Now it seems to have already lost focus allowing cars to compete which are essentially full blown race cars. Not workshop based entries and top level privateer's. If the rules were the same as Rev Speed and the event over time grew to a similar level of that event would it not be great to see the Japanese guys bring cars over to compete in our event just as Mark did over there. A lot of the glass half empty guys may say that will never happen but if a few years ago someone suggested to me an aussie built car would be over there competing i would have probably thought the same as them. If you have big dreams and you work hard at them you end up with big realities. just my opinion. -

Wrecking R32 Gtr 1994 Black
Swiper the Fox replied to SRB's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
im after the console surround that goes from around the gearstick to up around the centre gauges. -
im doing an engine like that now...Red R Racing prepped stock rods, ARP rod bolts, ACL race pistons, ACL race bearings, Nitto oil pump and collar, Red R Racing 9 litre sump, Tomei oil restrictor, Ross balancer, N1 water pump, Red R Racing prepped and ported head, 260 deg 9.15 camshafts, New Nissan head and main bolts, MLS 1.2mm Head gasket and a full Nissan gasket set. Its based on my old 10.3 drag engine but will be used for circuit work...should make 400+kw on its ear and be ultra reliable. $15K turn key...not too bad considering my old drag engine if copied would work out around $2K to $3K cheaper as it didn't have some of the goodies listed and made 450AWKW all day.
