  4. Ill take some shots this weekend...ok australians build some of the best gearboxes in the world...why is it so hard to believe they cannot do it with transmissions Robbie? These guys engineer some of australia's best street and show cars so i don't at all question what they have achieved. Mick Stanic from Subzero also has done a T400 GTR box although ive not seen that one 1st hand.
  5. Hey..no problem mate...just had to hold my nuts while i was standing or walked. Im not as much of a karnt as i portray myself as...im more a cheeky larrikin with a good heart...who loves his family, his mates and his cars. Ill help anyone out as long as i know they will appreciate it when the job is done. Hey ive even done engine builds for next to nothing to help a guy out....no problem.

  7. I know where you can get a 4WD T400 if you smash it as i looked at going auto but decided to stay with the manual.
  8. what hurts more is having a working car and not being able to drive it...no fun for me. What box are you running Paul ? If Rob didn't run marginally quicker than me in a car that had more power than the 240 then id be the 1st to be surprised. It looked good...nice run Wardy.

  16. Donor engine or not RB30 bottom ends here are thrown out by my machine shop and the good ones are only selling for $100 each. Most of the parts are brand new so your arguement there is a very shallow one ok your bottom end consists of RB30 block and crank = $100 forged pistons = $1500 Argo rods = $1500 Tomei oil pump = $2500 crank girdle/4wd adapter = $1000 Ross balancer = $800 9 litre race sump = $1250 engine bearings = $200 parts total = $8750 and thats being rather fair on some of the prices $19000NZD is around $15000AUD so you charge $6250 to machine and assemble a bottom end. Croydon Racing who are known to be quite expensive dont charge that for an entire engine build! Like i said Rob i find it excessive as do many others but thats not to say what you are doing is wrong...Its like one person finding a $400 pair of running shoes expensive and other finding it a bargain. Best of luck to you mate. I wasn't having a little 'dig' as you put it...i think my comment i highlighted in my last post would have told you that wasn't my intention. You really did feel a need to defend yourself though didn't you....now where's Boosted when you need him...lol

  18. hey hey hey...put your ego back in your pants big boy. to me a price like that for a bottom end is a little pricey...like i said...good luck to you if you can get people to part with it. Im not the only one in the scene here in Aust who have seen your asking price for a bottom end and have been surprised. if other people are happy to pay that sort of cash then fine. I have people who whinge about $15000-$20000 quotes for 9 sec turn key engine packages...let alone just bottom ends. not trying to start a e-war here...not at all. As can be seen by my quote below...but it wasn't enough for you to let go and you still seem upset for some strange reason. lets get it back on topic shall we.

  22. 8 deg retard on exhaust and 4 deg advance on inlet generally works best on stock cams. these figures are crank degrees so 4 and 2 on the cam wheels. id buy a Techedge wideband and have it hooked up to the Vi-PEC. With the autotune function enabled it will constantly analyze and alter the tune for optimum results. Or if you want a dash style interface similar to a power fc handcontroller for the Vi-PEC a EM PRO II engine monitor would be a wise investment.
  23. no the pnp's run the ATTESSA just fine...its the V88 with the TF electronics adaptor that sometimes has an issue (mine and bigmikespec's)
  24. Yeah...i know what he said and answered acordingly. You can run the engine monitor if you dont have the Vi-PEC...it just makes the installation a lot more complex as the unit needs to be wired to all the sensors. With the Vi-PEC it simply plugs into the CAN bus port and gets all its data fed from it.
