  1. Ring Scott at Insight...he has a few there as well as a pile of Autronic SM4's...good ecu's. But neither MoTeC or Autronic can read a 360deg crank trigger. Vi-PEC and Power FC do that the best. There is a GTR in Vic. that had a MoTeC in it...but was removed and runs a Power FC...better engine control...no guessing where the crank is. The MoTeC has been left in the car just for logging purposes.

  3. i used to run 34psi on my old unprepped stock crank (late R32 crank...same as R33) in dyno comps...28psi at the track. 10.34 @ 134 MPH i also ran 25psi on my new prepped R33 crank when racing and dyno (500AWKW) 9.95 @ 139 MPH i will now run 35psi on my old prepped R33 crank when racing and dyno (660+AWKW) Hopefully 8.99 @ 152 MPH Mark Jacobsen runs 40psi in his racecar with std crank on methanol and runs 7.84 @ 184 MPH Marks dyno R34 runs 45psi on stock crank and makes 1350awhp. i think your stock crank will be fine.
  4. yeah ok...got me there. mate im itching to hear a full power run...its a good thing the dyno we use is the same one used at Autosalon so i will be able to overlay my pump fuel runs at Newcastle Autosalon over the results. Straight HKS GT-RS to HKS T51R SPL comparo...should be interesting.
  5. Its not twice as good but...when at the pointy end of motorsport a big outlay makes a small gain. When at the other end the same outlay produces a large gain. Every little bit helps. Make sense? I always use HKS turbo's...and always seem to achieve better results than the generic Garrett users. The word equivalent is not a wise choice as the meaning is here... http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/equivalent Similar would have been a better word.

  10. Reece's car is tuned at Speedtech by Andre. He uses a hub dyno. Note i said chassis dyno. The chassis dyno power record was made with Godzilla's R34 dyno car...not his R32 race car. Its regarded by Dyno Dynamics and Mainline dyno's as the highest reading by a 4WD car anywhere in the world under competition conditions.

  12. Had a few hours of tuning 1pm till 4pm got it all mapped up to 7000rpm. Took our time making sure all was perfect at each load cell tuned. Guilt-Toy did a stellar job tuning such a big car, his easy does it, cautious approach was excellent, no 'rip tear bust' here. We had Mark linked up to the laptop with his computer at his shop in QLD keeping an eye on things and helping out when it was needed. We were having a little issue with oil leaking from the turbo drain flange not being tight or maybe not having a gasket fitted. As we were stepping up the RPM the leaking oil was getting worse so instead of having an oil fire we decided to pack it up.
  13. i sold my Autronic to get a Vi-PEC. Not trying to push a product Shane...if your too stupid to open your eyes instead of your gob all the time you might find you will learn something. Many tuners previously installing MoTeC's are now using Vi-PEC...why dont you call up a few and ask why? Are you afraid to learn? Would you rather keep your head in the sand? Having a dig at Mark's tuning will only leave you looking like a fool...he has the runs on the board. The worlds most powerful GTR (chassis dyno) and the worlds 3rd fastest GTR. And some of the best and safest tuned street cars in QLD.

  16. Tuners are pulling MoTeC's out and putting Vi-PEC's in....superior ecu. Ring Scott at Insight if you would like a full explaination why he is doing this. Mark Jacobsen even said last night he would like to pull his MoTeC out and run a Vi-PEC. Haltech...lol
  17. I believe we are having the laptop linked to Mark Jacobsen in QLD to keep an eye on proceedings. Guilt-Toy mobile tuning running the other way.

  19. Hey i appreciate your interest Kyle...but where do we draw the line. Id like to see you and catch up but the less people at the workshop the better. Ive got dozen's of people/mates who want to come and watch but have told them id rather they don't come over. Come down when we race and pit with us etc..bit more excitement and more to see/watch.

  22. We like to tune privately...as much as we would like to meet and greet, tuning a car like this requires a lot of patience and concentration. Im sure this is understood. 8 second GTR's are far from a 'given' im a long way from running an 8...having the hardware that is capable is one thing...putting a sub 9 second pass together is a whole new ballgame. Im going to give it one hell of a go though. Drove the car 20klm's from the workshop to the dyno...the gearbox is unbelieveable....the thing shifts in the blink of an eye. The lock on decel. from the Nismo 2 way is a little off-putting and will take some getting used to.
  23. Right...exhaust adaptor finished...driving to alloy fabricators today to get small welding job done then off to dyno. Dyno tuning tomorrow thanks to Guilt-Toy. Just some nice safe numbers for Powercruise, Mark will be coming down in March to do the full race tune.
  24. yeah the ones ive installed all used cam cap studs...not bolts...so needed drilling. new arrival?
