  1. ive ordered some new oil today
  2. yeah...another one eh...bummer. if you look on the JUN website it lists the 'tall' shims they advise you to use. In my opinion this is a dangerous practice and has been proven so with many shim 'pops'. Did you use the JUN offset retainers as they have 2 offset types that take up 0.5mm and 1.5mm clearance respectively?. With a 29mm base circle camshaft if you use the 1.5mm offset retainer and the 1mm thicker Tomei bucket you only have to use around a 0.5mm thicker shim than standard. This is the best way to go if using 29mm base circle cams.
  3. Yeah i thought about that when i built my fuel system....and then came along E85.
  4. lol...the ants pants...haven't heard that one for a while. Time will be good for this product as it is human nature to be aprehensive about new things, change etc.
  5. I have to disagree Guilt...300V engines spin bearings too...just ask T04GTR Dave.
  6. Fair call...but who here drives a stocker?...a few examples above have highlighted that the Vi-pec runs the car better in most instances. Mark just did a V88 in a completely standard 2JZ Supra and finished with a car that ran smoother than the stock ecu could.
  7. Im just compaing like for like...Vi-PEC's are brand new...not 2nd hand. The knock amp for the plug-in can be purchased from a dealer. For a road car the V88 is overkill but ill get you a price if you like.
  8. he picked up 80 litres tonight...tuning tomm. should make some good numbers.
  9. 32mm base circle cams are a 'drop in' nothing else. Id suggest anyone putting 32mm base circle cams in to do a quick bucket clearance check just to make sure its ok.
  10. low 10's would not be a problem...very low 10's
  11. was using Motul 300V...and the Le Mans stuff...not competition...was costing me $300 to change the oil every time i raced. Ive changed to a more cost effective oil as it doesnt last long enough to justify using the 'Le Mans' Add a $600 race fuel bill for tuning and competing and entry fee and its a 4 figure sum to race for 103 seconds at a meeting (7 x 9 second passes)...I think this is confirmation that im definately a madman.
  12. Brand new Power FC's for your car are $1980...lol http://www.accessauto.com.au/Items/ap-414-...20GTT%20RB25DET Thats a $230 saving already! Then if you want to make any decent power you need a Z32 $300 + plug $35 Then maybe some electronic boost control...add another $500 http://stores.channeladvisor.com/access-au...st%20Controller its starting to get expensive isn't it...you are getting almost $200 change from $3000 and you are still left with a very basic product that in my opinion and everyone elses who has first hand experience with both products, wont run your car as nice as the Vi-PEC. The plug-in board is the full ecu...designed with the STD Nissan plug and designed so its easily screwed into the Nissan ECU case. Nice and discreet to avoid defects, theft, voiding insurance claims etc..
  13. hey...we dont know what it is yet...Wayne wasn't there tonight...ill have a squizz at it tomm.
  14. yeah she's certainly no Dyson Cyclonic. You should try driving it without hardly any vacuum assist for the brakes...its a bit of a handfull to pull up...or should that be legfull?.
  15. The base circle dictates what size shim you require to get the clearance right...JUN like to tell you to use a really thick shim to make this clearance right...i dont recommend this...the thicker bucket is always the better more reliable way to go, which is how Tomei do it. PM unique1 and ask him what happens when you run a 'tall' shim instead of the thicker bucket and a reasonable size shim...it will cost you a lot more than doing it right once. Please don't take short-cuts mate...id hate to see you bitten again.
  16. 3 sent out...2 left. 10 days to go
  17. Vi-PEC skyline plug-in is $1750 and has the map sensor built in. It runs all the factory sensors and AFM support is due on the next firmware upgrade.
  18. This car would be the finest built, best engineered and most exciting GTR ive had the pleasure of experiencing. I went for a drive in this car a few weeks before christmas and ive still not gotten over it. Words cannot describe how totally mind blowing this car performs...sounds and idles like a stocker, goes like a scalded cat when asked and displaces organs when it stops. If i had both my kidney's id gladly part with one to finance the purchase of this car. Enough of my drooling and dribble...im still in shock that this car is being offered at just over 1/3rd of its build cost. I envy the lucky bastard who picks it up.
  19. I have a genuine C's fitted to my drag car...when teamed with the PPG dogbox its the ultimate in shifting.
  20. upgrading the ecu in our circuit gtr from Power FC to Vi-PEC pnp...we will be tuning on the same dyno so will post up some overlay's when finished.
  21. its not as big as it looks...rated at 900hp. Its still big enough to chirp 2nd though.
  22. opening up the wastegate while still maintaining enough surface area to provide a good seal is relatively common mod.
  23. Autoworx WA...Glen 'lumpy' Cambell...Brett West in Adelaide...JPC in Victoria...URAS in Victoria...ESP in ACT....Mercury Motorsport in QLD...Insight in Sydney...just to name a few. And thats only Australia...they are sold all over the world and are very popular in the US and starting to take off in the UK. No agenda Roy...im no dealer or reseller of this product...its a great ecu actually....I did want to be a dealer but Ray had his dealer network already set-up from the Autronic days...No conspiracy theory etc. Do you think id risk my car, my reputation and other peoples cars on crappy hardware?
