i didn't expect you to actually steal it out of my forklift and use it to run 11's in your shitter. 2rismo runs 11's with an engine from Dapto wreckers....Stace runs 11's and she can't drive...whats your excuse?

How was i supposed to know that that piece of bubblegum i removed from your engine bay was the only thing holding the engine together?.

Thats why you are always fixing yours yourself...mwhahahaha! Silver Fox...ive got no idea what he's on about...i didn't feel a thing.

As above...ive discussed this so called issue with Jim at length. The pump will only will only see 120psi when cold...and then its a maybe depending on bearing clearances used and oil viscosity etc. SR20's run a crack off pressure of 120psi from factory so i dont see it as a drama. As Andrew stated "oil pressure is your friend" especially in RB's another 20psi or so of oil pressure has positives...but no negatives i can think of. Im using Nitto pumps on builds and they look to the the eye a top quality item that may even be on par if not outdo the Tomei item. No engines running with them yet but will post some results and feedback when it comes available.

If im your bitch...then smack me like a bitch. Is your mega buck engine going to make your car go faster than a stocker you get from the local wrecking yard? Let the smacking begin.

No offence dude but that looks like a very grubby tired engine for a 1200klm rebuilt item. Bugger about the damage. It sucks having to spend money twice so soon. All the best with getting it back on the road.

Two.06l Update (twoogle)
Swiper the Fox replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Rob's car should run faster than mine. He's got all the little problems ironed out in the car and its now super quick. But due to his car being a non ANDRA log booked and tech'd car id say his day will be over in 1 run. He is racing Devlish as well so at least he has a back-up car to run. All that aside i should be the slowest car in the Modified Compact Class but due to 12 entrants at least ill be able to qualify for the eliminators...then its DYO handicapped...they will have to try and run me down. Im doing a few pump fuel shakedown runs on friday night if i can get on the entrant list (entry's have closed but i may be able to run if someone pulls out). Its been 11 months since ive raced and i think a few passes on lower power to see if its running straight would be good. EDIT: ive just looked for Rob's name on the entry list and neither car is listed as entered. Entries close in 45mins. Get onto it Rob. -
A clean well set out environment that is dust free and temperature controlled is required. But more important is the cleanlines and preparation of parts as they are being assembled. We seal the engines in clear toughened plastic at the end of each day to ensure no particles can contaminate the build. A well oiled bottom end if sealed in plastic and kept in a dry moist free area could be stored for months.

New Plug-in Ecu Coming
Swiper the Fox replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
first pics of the engine monitor...will update with more info after full installation and testing is complete. The unit plugs straight into the CAN bus port and is fed data direct from the Vi-PEC. my photography skills are a little bit poor. -
1 and 2 combustion chambers around the spark plug hole and 5 quench area look damaged. is this so or am i seeing things?

Hi just a quick note to let those interested know that Sport Comact Drag Racing will be on at WSID next weekend. We will be debuting our new set-up and this will also be the first time the car will race under the Godzilla Motorsport team. I see a couple of Skylines in the list including our own Anthony Espinola (Guilt-Toy). Hope the weather is ok as nothing breaks a drought quicker than trailering my car to Sydney to race. Hope to see you there.

good stuff.

Robbie Ward strikes again -
My car was only worth what someone was willing to pay for it. I offered my car at 1/2 of the build cost but due to the unpopularity of drag cars with the Skyline community it didn't sell. I knocked back a $45K offer for it due to it being worth more to me than that amount. I know of 2 modified R32 GTR's that in the last 2 years that have sold for around double that offer and id say the sellers still lost quite a bit of money that they had invested in them. I bought our car bog stock as i have the resources to build it up to what i want it to be...that way no hidden surprises and with stock cars they are easier to compare against each other when looking to purchase. For some people its easier and less painful to buy one already done, and with the right car a bargain can be found. If i did buy a modified car it would be looked at for the sum of its parts and not the car itself. It would be ground up rebuilt anyway and any faults or improvements made as the build progressed. One of my close friends bought a modified GTR that had an engine failure the first time it saw the dyno, he paid a premium for it and now owes him over $70K. We could have built the same car a lot cheaper if he had brought a stocker (i dont charge him any labour to work on his car as he is a mate) as most of the good bits that he paid extra for were a throw-away when the engine expired. But not everyone is in the same position as we are to do our own work. Each car purchase comes with a different set of circumstances in regards to owner and intended use etc. This is way off topic though...lets get back to the RB vs RB comparo
