  2. Check that its not just squeaking in the shock absorber. Sometimes the seal around the shock gets clogged with dust etc and so when the shock compresses it can sound like metal on metal. Same with the spring seats. Just get under there and spray around rubbing areas with WD40. If the noise stops then youve solved your prob. If you dont even know what suspension setup the car has got, then you really need to learn how to jack up your car and have a look under there
  3. What model/colour is your car?
  4. My best advice is: Until you can push the limits of your car in a SAFE environment, take it easy! By safe i mean on a skidpan day, track day, advanced driver training day etc. If you are baffled about the reason for oversteer in the wet then you desperately need some training and experience before you can use that car without killing yourself or someone else. All the best with it mate and welcome to SAU.

Woohoo... my local BP (west pennant hills) has Ultimate again!
  6. Nissan should be able to get one cut for you if you give them your VIN. You can try getting yours copied from a regular key place, but be warned they dont always work. I got one copied at a locksmith and it just didnt work for some reason.. Actually kind of a related unrelated story - I locked my keys in the car once, and I got a locksmith to come out and break into it for me. He fashioned a key from OUTSIDE of the car which opened the door, and started the car!!! It took him about 15 minutes. He just stood there with his little portable key grinder, and created a key just from feeling the pins as the key went in and out of the door. It's amazing that he could do that, but the key the locksmith copied from the original didnt work!!
  7. The reason that the pro data recovery cost so much money is that they dismantle the hard drive, buy a new hard drive exactly the same, and then transplant the platter into the new drive to read the data. This needs to be done in an absolutely clean environment too. Most of the bigger data recovery places have a full on anti-dust clean room. This all costs money!
  8. Hehe.. let me know if either of those programs work. i'd be interested to know for the future. By the way... I wouldnt recommend following barons advice about just plugging it into another computer. If itunes on the other PC tries to sync files to the device it will wipe your data for sure
  9. Haha.. sorry Corinne I'll send you an invoice!
  10. Try this one too.. see which is cheaper... http://www.datarecoveryipod.com/ipod-data-...y-software.html
  11. Whatever you do corinne, DO NOT load anything onto the iPod... If you do, you'll be overwriting your files permanently. Have you tried this: http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ipod-recovery.php ?? Most likely its just the fat table thats been deleted so the files are still there, you just need software to recover it. If you write anything onto the ipod though it will overwrite your old stuff. Dont you have another copy of the data? How is it possible to have a copy of the data on the ipod without having another copy on the computer? Doesnt it have to 'sync' with the computer to copy the data off?
  12. So erm, has anyone actually heard WHY there is no premium fuel? The last one I heard was that the refinery at Kurnell or wherever had to stop for a day which delayed the supply of fuel for two weeks or something... But i dont think that is related to this because that was a while ago. Anyone heard anything else?
  13. Oops.. tripped and fell. on sand i take it? I nearly did that on the weekend in a 100 series landcruiser too
  14. lol

I tried to get some toluene a while ago. I found a company who supplied it, but they only sold 60L drums of the stuff! Way too much for what i needed. Plus you've gotta make sure you mix the toluene/fuel properly... and its carcinogenic (gives you cancer) so its not the kind of stuff you want to muck around with. I eventually gave up on the whole idea

Well until the 98RON fuel gods decide to stock us up again, I think that this would be a good thread to list places where 98RON CAN still be bought. Would you be happy to update the first thread with locations Sam or should I start a new thread? To get the ball rolling: Friday 21st March - BP Victoria Rd, Rydalmere - BP Ultimate 98
  19. Yeah I went to have a look this evening.. she is a sexy beast in the flesh. Absolutely mammoth brakes and wheels. Very hot!
  20. Spotted Wilch this morning!
  21. Yeah what he said^^^ Yet i'd be VERY VERY surprised to see a lambo driver with an aftermarket exhaust pulled over and defected for a loud exhaust... even though a lot that i've heard are a heck of a lot louder than any turbo six with a 4" exhaust!!
  22. :laughing-smiley-014:
  23. Haha yeah heard this on the radio this morning. Our roving SAU reporters are much more efficient!
  24. I've had a couple of good experiences with Tempe, they've always been nice to deal with in the times that i've been there. Although they definitely dont fit the type of people I like to deal with, I've never had a negative experience there either. Just dont expect a coffee and cookies on arrival. They're business is wheels and tyres, they are the cheapest and they know it. The arrogance shows occasionally!
  25. bloody awesome in comparison to what exactly? they sound like cheap chinese tyres.. have you had any other tyres on your car?
