  1. Please post up some pictures of the coilovers as the part number quoted is not in the Bilstein Catalogue.
  2. I have a white R33 front guard that you can have for $50 pick up form Wollongong or I can meet you at Heathcote McDonalds for $10 extra for fuel.
  3. Another good trick is once you have the tip of the screw driver under the rubber and can prise it up spray some WD40 into the opening. This will help to soften the hose and allow you to get the screw driver in further to brake the seal between the hose and the pipe. I would not put hot water anywhere near this area as it would run down over the coilpacks and the spark plugs.
  4. I have a couple of these and mounted them on wheels to use as office chairs - they work a treat. Wheels and frames are easy to come buy - just wait for council cleanup as there are sure to be some old chairs in your area - then just make up a frame to mount the race seat to the chair base.
  5. Rear quarter sold to me.
  6. The guard is a different shape between Series I and Series II due to the different shape of the front bar - what Series is this for? (How I know this is that I bought one for a Series I and it does not fit my Series II as it is about 50 mm shorter)
  7. Hi, I have 2 used R33 series 2 skyline "S" bonnet badges for sale. I'm asking $30 each for them. If you're interested send me a pm.
  8. The most important thing is not to mix coolants. Make sure that you drain all of the existing coolant out before you fill it up with whatever type you select.
  9. Black smoke is fuel and to be runing a bit rich is a good safety factor to have. Like you have suggested after idling or crusing there can be a build up in the exhaust that is then cleared when it comes on boost.
  10. Is the rear quarter new and do you have any pictures of it?
  11. I am going to attempt to do this mod in one of my GTS-T's as well because it has a Nismo dash in it. My approach was to locate the wire that provides the boost signal to the normal GTS-T cluster and hook this up to the new boost gauge. I was looking at installing a Nissan temp sensor in the sandwich plate on the oil filter and hook this up to the oil temp gauge (apparently Nissan oil and water temp sensors share the same part number). This is how I was going to approach this problem and I would also like some feedback.
  12. I would suggest that the scrub is there to quieten the exhaust down a bit. If it is easy to get to try taking it out and see what difference it makes to the sound and performance of the car. I would not worry about the corrosion on the inside until it becomes a problem and makes a hole in the pipe.
  13. I never drive any of my Skylines until the water temp starts to move and have no problems as a result. They just do not like to be driven when they are cold.
  14. I finally worked out where you got the inspiration from for the colour scheme for your car - you copied one of my toys! I built this baby from a wreck 25 years ago and have spent the last month bringing it back to life after having it in storage for 22 years. She also runs a side pipe with a very open exhaust - she makes some noise (stirs up the neighbours to no end) but it is not in the same league as your car. In addition, Daniel's car now has a complete new front end (suspension, steering and brakes) in it and it is at the panel shop for some structual repairs. I am also in the process of picking up a full set of R33 GTR front panels (guards, bonnet and front bar) so the big question is do I make it into a Series II or a GTR. Decisions, decisions but to save 20 kg and be able to run 9's all round is very tempting........
  15. Depending on who complied the car and the program that it was done under some have two to the real lights deactivated. One of my R33's was like this and they had simply placed some tape over one of the terminals on the bulbs - which was very easy to undo. Pull the boot cover out and have a look at the wiring for the lights and check out the bulbs. Good luck.
  16. Exhaust studs are a very common problem with RB's to the point where I have had them replaced on my GTR and GTS-T. It involves disconnecting the exhaust, removing the turbo and then the manifold. Hopefully there will be some stud still sticking out so you can get a stud removing tool on them otherwise it involves drilling them out and using an "easy-out" to get it all out. When they are all out polish the mounting face and reinstall with a new gasket. Either way it is something that you need to do and if you go to this much trouble then replace the entire set so you do not have to do it all over again when another one breaks.
  17. You have PM - Interested in the following: - SRI NI carbon vents for r33 $50 - R34 standard spoiler in white $50 - JJR carbon front strut brace for an r34 gtt $50
  18. I assume that R32 seals are similar to R33 ones. Rear window seals are still available from Nissan for R33's at around $300 or you can go for an universal one from any of the major window companies for about half that amount. From my experience it is one of those jobs that I would have a professional do the install.
  19. The issue with R33's relates to the wattage of the bulb and the resultant heat generation affecting the plastic housing. Any 55 watt bulb will be OK and I have been using a similar blue bulb in my R33's for years with no ptoblems.
  20. When a car is rolling end for end it easily climbs over walls and fences so the spectators were very lucky not to be taken out big time. Good to see that the injuries sustained are not too serious.
  21. Interested in the shocks. What springs are they? They look like either Whiteline 3 or 4 kg springs.
  22. Stuart that is a dam good time of 1:08.5 on average tyres for your first time at the track when you consider that the V8 Utes lap record is 1:09.6544. Well done mate.
  23. I had the exact problem on my GTR to the point where we rounded to plug. We finally got it off with a very big "easy out" a long breaker bar and a couple of metres of pipe - pulling on the pipe was even making the car go up and down until there was an all mighty crack and it came free. The best thing is that the same part number for this filler plug also fits a Nissan Patrol - if you buy the part for the Patrol it is heaps cheaper than the one for the Skyline.
